The white tablecloths, the exemplary service and the drinks and food were spectacular, only exceeded by the company. Not gonna lie, this place surprised me. We booked a large outdoor table for a work dinner. When I was walking up from the hotel, I was not necessarily impressed with the curb appeal (and the giant divorce lawyer sign in the background.) But, I have to say that the food and drinks were really quite delicious. The goat cheese croquetas and octopus with polenta were great starters. The "El Patron del Mal" cocktail was really special (tequila, jalapeño, cilantro, and cucumber!) Try it. For dinner, the lobster risotto was incredible. I can't remember having such tender lobster ever. The sea bass was also quite delicious. For dessert, the guava soufflé was fantastic. The "la bola" was also quite good for the chocolate lovers, but for me it took second chair to the guava. Sunday lunch with my parents at Marfil. Love the ambience, decorations, and setting. We started off with Prosecco and Mimosa. Mussels, Octopus, and Greek Platter for appetizer. For my taste, the grilled Octopus was good but a bit salty. We tried their special of the day, Sea Bass with lobster risotto. Good. Tiramisu, Guava Soufflé, and Creme Brûlé for dessert. I checked out Marfil bistro for their Miami spice menu on a Saturday. My friends and I wanted to do their brunch menu which we thought was a great deal. You got one glass of either a mimosa, Bellini or coffee, an appetizer, entree and then dessert. All for $23. I got the salmon and cream cheese for appetizer, Greek omelet for entree and lime textures for dessert. The salmon was delicious, the fig jam and arugula went so well with the salmon and cream cheese. I was definitely a fan. The Greek omelet was just a regular omelet, I would go for something else on the entree menu next time. My favorite thing was the lime texture desert! It was the perfect size and so refreshing. The only reason I'm giving a 3 star review is because my friends and I decided to get the unlimited mimosas option for $15 and when the mimosas came out there was a little more orange juice in them then we liked. We asked if we could get more champagne than orange juice and it seemed to be a problem and they couldn't accommodate. We ended up canceling the unlimited mimosas. Didn't really make sense since it's technically "unlimited" so what does it matter if you pour slightly more champagne than orange juice in the pitcher...That part of the whole experience was a downer but other than that the Miami spice menu is good. read more

Made a reservation for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We were seated in the balcony and it was beautiful. The restaurant was not crowded and there were no other parties seated up there, so we had the balcony to ourselves. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and clean. The staff wore masks and were very attentive. When ordering, there was some slight confusion and two of the meals came back incorrectly. When this happened, the waiter had an attitude in saying there was a miscommunication and stating they were going to have to wait for the correct meal which is a given. The seafood casserole was supposed to include lobster bisque, this seemed to have been cooked completely separate from any seafood. It tasted bland, and was more of mediocre tomato based nothingness of a bisque. The lobster and seafood felt and tasted as if they had been frozen for a year, and mistakenly defrosted in a microwave on high. This dish was put together, from separately overcooked seafood that was then dumped on top of that dreadful sauce. The guava soufflé or sou"flop" was way too sweet and overwhelming. Just awful. This review is not only due from my shattered expectations, but to the lack of care and respect in which this food was made and then served. The rest of the food was average, and a bit better than the inedible seafood casserole. Other than that, the restaurant 's ambience was good, and not overcrowded. Well another good star for Doral with all the restaurants that they are offering. Marfil is definitely a winner in my book. The service is impeccable and the restaurant is great for a good family dinner or date night. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Now we were in a little bit of a hurry and they accommodated us beautifully where the timing of the food was just right to give us enough time to enjoy and be able to leave punctually. For appetizers, we started with the goat cheese croquettes and the black truffle burrata, with homemade duck prosciutto. Both were amazing! Oh my goodness! The duck prosciutto with the burrata on garlic toast was complete heaven. I'm drooling thinking about it. For the main course we ordered the octopus and the short rib. The octopus came grilled with Portuguese sauce and saffron potatoes. The octopus was perfectly cooked! Which is a big deal for me. The short rib entree is one of their most popular plates. They come a serve it close lid and they open it so you can fully experience the smoked oak. The meat is braised for 48 hours and you can tell as it is soft and juicy. I have seen this restaurant many times driving through Doral and finally paid it a visit with Family during the holidays. This place looks small from the outside but had tons of space inside, there is plenty of outside seating and even an upstairs area. The food here was Great, we tried a couple of the appetizers including the Bacon Wrapped Dates & Grilled Octopus and everything was very tasty, the apps are small but still enough to share between two or three people. I tried the Braised Short Ribs which came smoked covered in a dish which was then uncovered once it arrived at the table, very nice presentation. We went to Marfil Bistrot on Friday, first night out since the pandemic started. I liked how the temperature was checked at the entrance. The staff was wearing masks. We chose to eat outdoor away from most people. The food was pretty good, and for appetizers we had dates with grilled octopus. Octopus was delicious it could have been cooked a little more but I enjoyed it. The 3 stuffed dates wrapped in bacon were excellent. I've also had the Spanish board which had a lot of cheese,salami and prosciutto. We took a tiramisu to go and my child loved it. The drinks were great I had 2 different kinds but can't recall their names The waitress was polite, professional, and did not make us wait longer than necessary. A musician was playing saxophone. After so many months of not being able to dine out (or in!) thanks to covid, this beautiful restaurant was exactly what we needed. The service was impecable. The food incredibly delicious. One of our local favorites I'm almost scared to share. We have come here several times and never been disappointed. Every time we order the food is spectacular and the service top-notch. Some of the items we ordered last night were a pasta dish a Seabass, a chicken entrée along with the burrata appetizer and bacon wrapped dates. My family ordered La Bola for dessert last night and they loved it! I'm not much of a chocolate person, but it was very good. The whole evening we could not get over how good it smells inside. My wife and I were invited to come here for a dinner.. never heard about the place and wasn't aware it's right across from Doral City Place.. The environment is very pleasant. We had a chance to sit upstairs since it was a big group. They had live music playing downstairs. The service was great, very attentive and vocal regarding their specials and house favorites. Food wise it was great to try a new dish such as the filet mignon tartar. Pretty much think of tuna tartar for you sushi enthusiasts but with filet mignon. The dish was a little salty but nothing over the top as far as flavor goes. It was great to try but wouldn't order it again. Their Lobster bisque was also slightly salty and was missing a key ingredient, some more lobster. The flavor was creamy along with it being in a thick broth, but I wish more lobster pieces were included. Entree was the oxtail as this was the house favorite and 1 of the most popular dishes on YELP, my wife went with the dolphin. The oxtail was very juicy, soft, and the polenta combination allowed it to really mix well, especially since it had some lemon attributes on it. If you enjoy oxtail the Latin way, you will enjoy this new twist. The dolphin was fresh but due to the lack of sauces on it tasted a little dry, but the polenta allowed it to have more flavor. Finally, dessert was dessert.. think of a small lava cake, filled with chocolate. The presentation is what really makes it stand out, but their is nothing extraordinary about it, and that's not a bad thing. It's mainly a small cake with ice ream and melted chocolate. Went on a Sunday at 1145am and there were no tables occupied inside. Only one table in the front, outside with a family. On the side of the restaurant there is also outdoor seating at which a shower was being prepared. All seating areas looked clean and organized. A regular menu and a fixed Brunch menu to choose from. We all elected the regular menu. And so glad we did. Various cocktail options and the bar is willing to whisk up any creations you may request. The drinks were refreshing. 2 of us ordered an extra one each. Appetizers were tasty and the bread rolls were fresh but I prefer to fill up on the appetizers. I had been to this location on two other occasions. One was for a company event that I helped coordinate where we sat on the terrace. The other was just for a quick bite and I also sat on the terrace. This time my husband and I went for the indoor dining experience. The decor and ambience are very lovely and very inviting. The gentleman who took care of us was both professional and friendly as well and made some great recommendations. As we are really trying to watch what we eat we didn't do our typical and order several appetizers before the meal. We simply opted to save ourselves for what we felt would be a great main course. I love lentil soup and that was one of the items the gentleman mentioned when he gave us the specials. I'm very picky about this since I make it at home as to several people in my family who also make it very well. Their's was delicious! My father-in-law joined us and insisted he would have the duck as he had had it there before and it was spectacular. Considering the fact he left nothing on his plate I guess he must be right! The way they serve the duck is by bringing this contraption to the table which makes for a great show. And there they basically create the sauce that is poured over the entrée and looks absolutely delicious. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was absolutely divine! The raviolis were large and I simply couldn't finish the plate. The sauce was delicious and definitely not overpowering. My husband ordered the Bronzino which came in a very simple yet lovely presentation. He said it was cooked to perfection and he as well left nothing on his plate. I asked for something smallfor dessert. The gentleman brought me exactly what I asked for which was some vanilla ice cream. The presentation was really pretty for something simple. They both paired their food with a scotch and I opted for tea since I was a bit under the weather. But I can tell you it's a place I would definitely go back to for lunch or dinner as well as entertaining for a business meeting or group setting. If you haven't visited the spot in Doral I highly recommend it. I was pleasantly surprised by this dining experience which I expected would be great having been on the terrace before for more casual fare. But I will say they exceeded my expectations. I should mention that aside from the indoor dining room and the outdoor terrace they have a second floor which is great if you're going to do something more intimate. They also added a fantastic separate event space complete with LED capabilities. From what I can see the owners seem to have thought of everything to maximize their space. Kudos! read more
