Marfil Bistro is a nice restaurant located across the street from Doral City Center. It has some outdoor seating and an upstairs area they rent out for private parties. We decided to stop here for lunch one day and I was very impressed with the excellent service. We were also the first ones to arrive so we basically had the restaurant to ourselves for a while before the lunch crowd made it in. We ordered the seared corvina and scottish salmon. Both were recommended by the server and both were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the corvina. Devoured it. No time to mess around during lunch. They also give you some delicious olive bread before your meal which was nice and warm. This place is on the pricey side. Definitely not a weekly lunch habit I could afford. But I would highly recommend this place for a special lunch, a dinner date or a night you feel like getting your splurge on and eating some tasty seafood. read more

Typical Argentinian/South American menu. Grilled meats, pastas, cheese/meats appetizers, empanadas. Food was not outstanding or elevated, but not bad. I had a burrata cheese appetizer and octopus with polenta, which according to our server were big enough to be shared but were in fact, smallish. My partelner had the branzino, which was 9nly one filler (this fish is typically served whole as one serving because they tend to be small) Delicious dessert (guava souffle). Limited wine list. My husband and I decided to enjoy a night out and dine at Marfil at the recommendation of a friend. First off, the place was very nicely decorated and inviting. The service was pretty good and our waitress was very personable and friendly. We started off our meal with the Burrata which was DELISH! I then ordered the Osso Bucco which was pretty good but in my opinion not great. I've had the pleasure of having much better elsewhere....so that was a little disappointing for me. I will add that the Saffron Risotto was amazing which is why I gave it 4 stars in stead of 3 stars. My husband ordered the Short Ribs which again was pretty good but not great....again...we've had better elsewhere. I tried some and I thought the short ribs were much too sweet which was my husbands complaint as well. They do get extra points for presentation...again, which is why they get 4 stars instead of 3. The short ribs arrived in a smoke filled dome and the waitress does a little presentation of unveiling the dish. We did enjoy the chocolate dessert referred to as "La Bolla" which simply translates to "The Ball". This dessert has pluses and minuses. The Pluses.... The presentation was AWESOME...they poured and Orange Liquor over the chocolate dome which is on fire, so essentially the entire dome catches fire and melts the chocolate done to reveal the chocolate soufflé and ice cream encased in the chocolate dome! The dome is surrounded by cake crumbles and fresh berries with fresh mint leaves. Now for the Minus...the Chocolate Dome was created by either using Chocolate Melts or melted chocolate which was not very good quality. The reason this is a minus is because it melts ONTO your dessert which now is covered with cheap chocolate. My husband and I are chocolate snobs and we will pay for good chocolate. Sadly, because (in our opinion) the chocolate quality was not up to par this brought down the entire dessert.....but the redeeming factor is the fresh berries really helps to lift it back up! I know this is a confusing review but this place had a lot of positives and most of the negatives I believe are due to our personal tastes. My husband loved the concept of La Bolla and has asked me to order molds so that I can recreate the dessert at home using a high quality chocolate! LOL... I think we might give this place 1 more try before deciding if we are going to retire it from our Restaurant list. read more

I have only attended Brunch here on a Sunday. They have private parking. The restaurant has outside seating with cover, a bar and inside seating. The restaurant itself looks very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and good service. Food coming out was just a little slow but no biggie. Seems like not many people know about this place yet as the restaurant for brunch did not have many people. The food was good for the price. Appetizers and breakfast plates were good. Everyone enjoyed it. I would recommend this to others to give this place a try at-least for brunch since I have not tried lunch or dinner. read more

A friend and I went here last Sunday and it was absolutely delicious! We started with appetizers, had a meal course and finished with dessert. The presentation of the food was absolutely glorious and the service was impeccable. I would highly encourage going here on a date with someone You care about and are willing to share food with because you're going to want to taste everything. Trust me. This is a higher dining experience so please be prepared to spend money. Between the two of us we spent a total of about $160 (before tip) but it was worth every penny! One thing, watch out for the drinks! I had two glorious black mojitos and Within an hour of leaving my head started pounding. I was hung over the rest of the day. Been hearing about this place through friends and looking a a good place for lunch with a good friend and client decided to give it a try. Located right across from a Doral City Center this restaurant is well decorated and staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a full bar, great selection of wines and food has a Mediterranean style and on Friday the scallop appetizer on flaming plate and sea bass on daily specials was spectacular and highly recommended. Marfil Bistro is truly a delight to dine at. I went here with friends for drinks and a light dinner, and everything was great. I love the outdoor seating area because it's very relaxed and you can feel the breeze from anywhere. You can sit at high top tables or comfortable couches and really have a good time. I'm very impressed with the portion size for the oysters and they were absolutely delicious! MUST try. My friend couldn't get enough of these. The goat cheese croquetas were definitely something I've not seen before, but the texture is not for everyone. Still very tasty. We built our own charcuterie board with burata cheese, prosciutto, bread, and a jalapeño jam. Everything was delicious. You can choose from 3-5 selections for each category and make it your own. This is perfect for like tapas style dining, which is exactly what we wanted. The service is impeccable here. They are very polite and attentive. My fiancé and I just left this restaurant. We had an early dinner. We arrived and there was no hostess to greet us. We went inside and was told we could sit where we liked. The place is small and quaint. Very nice for small groups or couples. Our waitress Veronica was nice and attentive. We ordered the Moscow mule. It lacked ginger beer. I had the smoked short rib with risotto and my fiancé had the chicken parmigiana. The food was tasty and well presented. As we sat finishing our dinner, staff looked like they were coming on shift. The manager was near the bar casually speaking to staff that was preparing to start their shift ( at least that's what it looked like they were doing). He was putting on his dress shirt and tying his tie. That looked unprofessional. That should not be done where where customers are dining. As we walked out he was speaking with a couple whom sat by the door and didn't even say goodbye. The place is nice but I feel that they lack a bit of customer service skills. read more

Made dinner reservations for 9 pm for my husband and I to celebrate Valentine's. I called the restaurant repeatedly at least 5 times to tell them we were running 5-10 minutes late and the phone was busy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a girl who asked us if we would be ok sitting upstairs and we said yes. We don't understand why they sat us upstairs as we had reservations and there were empty tables downstairs. The stairs are extremely steep so DO NOT sit upstairs. Our server, Oriana, was professional, informative and extremely nice! However, since we couldn't make contact unless the servers were upstairs, we felt as if we were in an attic. I went there for a large party dinner of about 25 people. I was surprised at how the one waitress was able to take care of all of us in a timely, and organized manner. Our food came out fairly quickly. The food was amazing. I tried a lil bit of other peoples dishes and it was all very delicious. I was thoroughly impressed. I will be going there often. I will define this restaurant as European style. We made few visits lately and have tried different dishes from appetizers, main courses, desserts, and of course wine. Everything is great. Love the taste, the presentation, and fresh/homemade ingredients. The service is very good too or I should say it's never too busy the dates and time we're viewing. We ordered a refreshing Sangria pitcher and goat cheese croquettes for starters. The brunch menu was also part of the Miami Spice Menu. It consisted of an appetizer, the entrée and dessert. Three ordered the coconut shrimp and they loved it. I ordered the Caprese salad and it was very nice. Exactly, what I was looking for. All four of us had a different entrée and we each agreed that ours was quite good. For dessert, the guava soufflé caught my attention. Of course, it was not part of the prefix menu but it definitely had our name on it. Definitely, a must again! They also had a gentleman playing the sax and that was a nice touch.
