Where is the 6th star!!!!
Small space, which means it's intimate but with space for a larger group. The decor is understated but classy and enjoyable. Let me start with the service: EXCEPTIONAL! Attentive, detail-oriented, and friendly but unobtrusive. The food was memorable (all in good ways). We tried three very small appetizers: a breaded zucchini blossom stuffed with cheese, a rice ball stuffed with an escargot, and an oyster Rockefeller. All amazing. Then we shared mains. A New York steak with a truffled jus with seasonal mushrooms (both cooked and raw) that was delightful in every way, and short rib meatballs with an udon pasta and shaved foie gras that almost made me cry (feelings reminiscent of the first time I had Jean George's foie gras brûlée). We had cocktails, wine (from their well-thought out and extensive wine list), and dessert wine. We were also given to try a vermouth and 2 ports on the house, all three very very good. For dessert, we had a lemon tart. I thought it was fresh and perfectly tart, my meal partner thought it was a tiny bit too tart, could perhaps use a sweeter sauce on the side. It was all soooooo great! It might be slightly on the pricier side for Mexico...but coming from NYC...I couldn't have asked for a better deal. Group Culinaria Chic and chef Abel Hernandez continue to deliver and impress. Can't wait for my next trip to CDMX!!! read more
