I ordered up sparking water to was down the guacamole and salsa with freshly cooked tortilla chips. M ordered up a mango margarita, it had a full rim of salt and spices, looks good. My Linner was a baja taco, one shrimp, one fish, M ordered the shrimp and cheese taco. I had to ask that the shrimp in our tacos would be shell off, our server confirmed, shell less. I asked because most of the photos on the menu show the shrimp with head, without head but all with shell on...I prefer not to fuss with peeling the just cooked hot shrimp. The guac was really fresh and good, the chips a bit over cooked. Then the drinks arrived and the entree's followed shortly there after Plain and simple three various taco's with some tasty refried & whole beans with your standard orange Spanish rice....hum. I guess it's a toss up on the rice, a unique almost Spanish rice with a flavor twist or the comfortable, household, everyday orange Spanish rice that won't scare anyone away. The taco's were great, fat with plenty of the larger shrimp (with no shell) cabbage and other stuff to fill the tortilla. We all enjoyed our meal and I would certainly entertain a return visit if we lived closer. But, Not one bit of bacon or actual sausage did i find ? It was pretty disappointing. I expected to get some real bacon pieces, and real sausage in there .. am i wrong to expect that ? The price wasn't exorbitant, so i guess theres that. As a child I was saw the world with so much wonder and awe, the world was such a big place, there were so many mysteries to be carefully analyzed and solved. After a long day of exploration and expanding one's mind I was always hungry and would come home to fresh, home cooked meals courtesy of my mother. It was the feeling of "wholeness" in her food that stuck in my mind for years to come, as no fast food ever had that fulfilling feel to it when consumed. After coming to Mojave, which ironically was a recommendation from my mother, I was at a loss of words. They may be somewhat pricey, but sweet baby jesus, that GUACAMOLE. I am not a man of God but DAMN this guacamole must have been crafted by none other than Zeus himself! It wasn't nearly as chunky as the picture on the menu made it seem, however, the textures and flavors of the guacamole made up for that and more. The service was pretty good, but in all honesty, I came for the food not the service. On another note, there were a few people in the bar who smelled strongly of "herbs" and I think its great that Mojave accepts it with the new recreational laws coming in June. Hopefully someday there will be a Mojave on every corner, keep Oregon green! read more

What a great example of a mighty fine business. I'm not a yelper who gives out 5 star reviews easily and It was not in my plans to come here, it was suggested to me by a friend. First impression was the layout and how it flowed, and how every seat had some king of privacy in mind when organizing. Most small places just want to cram people together, which can feel a bit uncomfortable and thus shortens ones stay. I could tell that a lot of thought went into every detail in this restaurant. Even the bar seats are very comfortable. I was there for happy hour and it was pretty busy, but we didn't feel rushed to order. Food is fantastic! great quality of beef and well seasoned makes this a winner. Seriously it's better than most. read more

I have mixed feelings about this establishment but our server Angelissa was absolutely incredible! My partner has quite a bit of allergy restrictions and Angelissa was able to help us find the best meal for my partner to enjoy and didn't seem irritated at all our questions. We usually go to the Happy Valley location, but feel Gresham might be our new favorite. I feel this restaurant can be overpriced almost always hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but this was the first time our service was genuinely amazing! a few other servers also came over to check on us multiple times. we felt very welcomed and cared for. would go back just to see Angelissa and the rest of the staff again. read more

Went in to celebrate a friends birthday. It was on a Saturday at 4:30pm. We wanted a reservation for 8. Because they had so many reservations already they wouldn't let us make one. Thus the 4 stars. The server was nice, pretty prompt, good at keeping the iced tea full and the drinks coming to the table. The food was excellent, though next time I'll get the jalapeños on the side as there were more than I would've liked. They got a couple other food orders mixed up, but everyone seemed happy. There is absolutely no dish in your entire life that could prepare you for the Chunky Guacamole at Mojaves Grill & Cantina, the guacamole had a fresh, lemony taste and had the most perfect texture to it. And the desserts were to DIE FOR. Literally. The deep fried ice-creams were the perfect size to still be able to finish after the main course. My wife and I continue to return to Mojave. We have gone in for lunch, dinner, happy hour or just to enjoy a sporting event. On many occasions, we invite others to join us. When you order Taco's there you get charged for the condiments. For a Large Cadillac Margarita I don't care what it cost but put the Grand Marne in it please. I shouldn't have to ask twice for it. The bill for two people to eat and a couple of cocktails is 90.00. But I had to pay extra for sour cream. REALLY. I will go back but I wont pay for condiments again that is for sure. read more

Hubby picked the Chile Relleno: Poblano chili pepper, stuffed with mixed cheese and potato, battered in whipped egg then deep-fried to a golden brown and bathed in delicious tomato sauce. Both were delicious! The relleno was served with rice pilaf with mixed vegetable, he said he didn't care too much for that. I only ate only one of my empanada, because I was filling up with my chips & enjoying my salsa, but I wasn't really hungry. I took the rest home, for later. I love the sauce! I told Adriana, and she said: Oh! You didn't want that? I tried to tell her: I'd like it to go. (I have a feeling we're having problem communicating, she's very nice, though). The service: We were talked to by 4-5 different servers who asked us how we were doing. One: I asked if I could have mild salsa sauce, and she said: No, those were the choices they all have. Our family member, who was dining with us and witnessed the experience, later chose to leave a one-star review about it. To be very clear, the nachos were mine, but the review was his. Before I even had a chance to eat them, I stepped away to wash my hands. On my way back to the table, our waitress stopped me and asked if everything was okay at the table. I initially thought she was simply checking on our experience. Instead, she told me she remembered me, accused me of leaving the one-star review from April, and proceeded to tell me how that review had hurt her bartenders. I was completely caught off guard. I did not write the review, but beyond that, I could not understand why I was being confronted about a months-old review while returning as a paying customer and trying to enjoy dinner. I felt cornered and attacked, and I genuinely didn't know what she expected from that conversation. When I had enough, I told her I was done discussing it and returned to my table. That should have been the end of it. Instead, she followed me back to our table and continued the confrontation in front of my husband and our friends. The situation escalated to her berating and yelling at our entire party. Our tabs were closed, and we left. I understand that negative reviews can be upsetting to restaurant employees, and I understand there are two sides to every customer-service issue. But customers should be able to share an honest experience without worrying that they--or someone associated with them--will be confronted about it months later when they return. What is especially disappointing is that we came back. We didn't write this restaurant off after one bad visit. After years of supporting a local business, we gave it another chance. And ironically, the nachos looked great this time. There a million ways this could have and should have been handled differently and would have had a very different outcome. The simplest would have been if our waitress simply said, "I remember you had an issue with the nachos last time and I want to make sure we got them right tonight," I would have appreciated it. That would have been a great way to turn a previous bad experience into a positive one. Instead, I was confronted/attacked about a review I didn't write. And when I clearly ended the conversation and walked away, I was followed back to my table where the confrontation continued and escalated to our entire party. That crossed a line for me. We went in hoping to give a longtime local favorite another chance. We left feeling targeted, embarrassed, and unwelcome. After supporting this restaurant for years, I never imagined this would be the experience that might ultimately keep us from coming back.

I recommend sitting closer to the stage in case you feel like dancing, but there's lots to do regardless to pool table areas comfortable restaurant booths if that's all you're interested in, but after the Restaurant closes the bar and entertainment areas are open during the day. Everything is available generally it's very impressive. There wasn't a dirty spot in the entire place. The kitchen staff was not able to pick up Used food plates very quickly but only because they were super busy. I would've bust my own dishes to help. Had I seen somewhere to put them lots of good food to choose from parking was easier than I thought really an impressive place. If you're not sure what to do. This is the perfect solution. There's a little bit of everything. Listen to live music and throw a couple of bucks in a poker machine or grab some quarters and play pool, relax and eat or shake your booty and bring a smile to your face no matter what they have it here it is casual dress, and it doesn't cost a fortune to eat here very competitively priced highly recommend

The staff is super knowledgeable about gluten free items on their menu and everything is clearly marked. They were also accommodating for menu modifications (my friend didn't want mushrooms in her enchiladas...no problem). I had tacos and we shared queso dip. Everything was fresh, tasty, and we left full. My new favorite margarita is the Mercedes. Spicy and refreshing...great for a hot summer night.
