Ambiance is nice. Relaxing and quaint. Service very professional and friendly. Food was very good. Carne Asada plate , rice and beans yummy. May not suggest the asada burrito based on our visit. Went for lunch. Had what is typically my favorite... chili relleno. It was very small, very spicy and so disappointing. May have had at the most 3 1/2 forkfuls to eat the entire relleno. Paid $15.95 for a tiny ,disappointing relleno and 2 big servings of of rice. Noted this to the waitress and also show her a bayleaf that was in it and she made no comment. We've been meeting friends for dinner here for the past nine years (it was a great place for take-out during the pandemic) and are now so happy about their expanded menu that has new and exciting dishes. Each new dish we've tried has been great. We regularly take advantage of their Happy Hour prices too because my husband is super happy about their expanded beer selection. I had dinner there last night and have truly mixed feelings first i think they started out great and paid more attention to detail...i had beef fajitas and my fiancé had arroz con polo. the beef in my fajitas was really tough and old had no flavor. the onions, peppers were super soggy and not fresh. the guacamole was brown and i requested fresh and they obliged. the tortillas were good, service was good. just lacking flavor flavor and freshness! sorry to say we won't be back read more

Maybe it used to be different pre-Covid? The prices are absolutely insane! I would rather drive all the way into Portland and go to Matador which is actually cheaper than here. Went here for my daughter's birthday and almost every table complained that they got the wrong orders. Forgot our drinks and my aunt got the wrong meal. For being almost $30 for fajitas you would think that you would "wow i need another bite" feeling, and there was nothing. Cute little place with good food. We went here for a family member's birthday and we all enjoyed our meals. The portions were sizable and we all had leftovers to take home. The only down side is that this place really is tiny and parking is limited. It is great for smaller parties but I would say if you will have more than about 5-6 people, you likely will not be comfortable here. read more

Dinner has always been good for my wife and I, we always leave full. Today, however, we decided to share a plate of wonderful Carne Asada and leave room for dessert. OH MY! If you have never tried the Churros, you must go there now and just do it! Don't order anything else, except maybe something to drink and enjoy four little golden fried sticks of filled goodness topped with whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. To tell you the truth we were going to another place for Mother's Day but they were closed. My daughter and I are very picky so we also order off menu and very specific. First of all I couldn't understand why the nachos were so expensive but my daughter and I always get our own. OH MY GOODNESS! They are huge!! One order was enough for 4 adults! They were exactly as ordered and since they are right down the street the food was hot and wonderful when we got it! My husband couldn't finish his enchilada plate and I had to taste the rice and it was very good and authentic. The burritos were having for dinner tonight! Now we know how to order! Quite good! Stopped in for lunch, and came away very pleased. The meal started with a complimentary tortilla containing refried beans and cotija cheese. They serve these as a starter instead of the typical chips and salsa most places serve. This was accompanied by a green sauce with a pleasant amount of heat. I ordered a combo plate consisting of an enchilada with house-made molé sauce, a chicken taco, refried beans, and rice. This was about as good as I've had in Oregon. All were very flavorful and tasted freshly-made. Most pleasantly surprising was the size of the beverage glasses. They're HUGE, and they are solid glass. This makes for a hefty weight when taking a drink, but also ensures that you'll probably not have to ask for a refill. The waitress (who I suspect is an owner) still kept our glasses topped off throughout lunch. This was a very nice surprise. Parking was a bit of a challenge as there is only a small lot with a handful of spaces behind the building, and the only entrances and exits are very narrow, single-lane affairs with no markings indicating which is the entrance and which is the exit. You may be better off street parking. There are also four doors, one on each side of the building, with no clear markings as to which is the entrance (one has "kitchen" hand-written in marker on it). Agave Azul is not a high-class place, but the food is very good, and the people who run it are very nice and are genuinely happy to see you when you come to visit. read more

Dined there last night with a friend. Extremely disappointed. Nothing like I remembered it from a previous visit last year. The restaurant was almost empty. There was a couple out on the patio and I believe another couple in the bar area and my friend and myself in the dining area, so you would think the service should have been reflective of the lack of customers. That was not the case. Ordered guacamole and chips to start. Was served 3 small dollops in a bowl. The dollops were the size of maybe quarter to 1/2 dollar size, and I'm being generous with the description. Ample chips to say the least. The cost $9.00. It was so bland that even adding their salsa didn't help. My friend ordered a Chimichanga with rice and beans. Is the Chimichanga supposed to be extremely dry? My friend asked if they had any other salsa because what was served was too spicy hot for her. Was told no but could bring some enchilada sauce for her to use. It didn't help. I had ordered a plate with a beef enchilada and a chili relleno. I must say the relleno was good, the rice and beans were good ( really how can you mess up rice and beans) ? Disappointed with the enchilada aren't they supposed to have some moisture? The meat inside tasted like it had been sitting on the stove in a pan for at least all day long. Had to get the servers attention to get the check which came to $45.00. They lost a customer.. I won't be back... Taco Bell is better even with their limited menu read more
