We went here on NYE and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and felt authentic, the margarita was well made (especially the "Margarita Special"). My husband and I wanted Mexican food during our Covid19 lockdown so we ordered through door dash and wanted our food delivered at dinner time 6:30-7. I place the order Midday and requested the time of 6:30-7 on the app with no problem, paid the total also increased the tip and all went through. Upon completion of the transaction door dash said my order would be delivered within 45 minutes which would have been a late lunch. I immediately attempted to cancel my order. Door dash told me I would be credited $14.79 out of my $58.74 charge. I declined to cancel my order. I wasn't willing to lose my money. I called Margarita's Cafe and explained what happened and they said unfortunately it was an issue with Door Dash and they could not help. I then received a call from Door Dash to verify my cancellation. I explained to him, that I did not want my dinner at that hour but had not canceled my order. The nice young man from Door Dash said he would look into it and call me back. I never heard from him. Approximately 20 minutes later I received another call from a young man from Door Dash asking me if I had canceled my order. I explained the situation to him and told him that I would call Margaritas's as I had NOT canceled my order. I then again called Margarita's Cafe and spoke with Spiros the Manager. He could not have been more helpful. He said my order from Door Dash did show as a cancellation. I explained that I never actually canceled my order because I didn't not want to lose all that money. He said he would call Door Dash and get it all straightened out for me and send my order. My order came just as Spiros said. In this difficult dark time it was so wonderful to have someone exude such caring service as Spiros. I highly recommend this restaurant, besides great service the food was fabulous as always! Went there last Friday night and it was packed ! People keep coming in and leaving after the hostess told them the wait time. My friends and I have been eager to try this place so we waited by the bar, thankfully a couple was just getting up and we managed to snatch their seats. The drinks were good and strong and the bartender was cute ;) after a long wait time (as expected) we finally sat our table, server was nice and welcoming and took our order right away, by this time we were starving so we knew what we wanted to order already. Food came fairly quick and it was delicious ! Guac was perfect, but I thought the amount was a little stingy. Mariachi guys kept the atmosphere loud and lively. I enjoyed them but after a long wait you just wanna eat and have a nice meal without all the noise. Overall I would recommend this place, good local option for Mexican food. I have been to almost of the other Margaritas Cafe locations and none of them ever disappoint! The food is always prepared correctly and is delicious! Whether we are a small or large group, everyone enjoys the food and drinks! The table side guacamole is a must ! The fajitas are always sizzling and everything tastes great. The decor in this location has a lounge feel, which I enjoy. The only "negative" is the bar, which is very tight. If you wait for a table an get a drink at the bar you will be constantly apologizing or receiving an apology from someone trying to pass you and bump into you. The space is very tight for people to pass, let alone have a drink without van elbow in your side. read more

It is pretty crowded most of the time, but on weekends is usually when there will be a wait. Walked into the restaurant at 7:20 and was told it would be an hour. We found seats at the bar. At 830 we were told our table was ready. We left the bar to found out there was a miss understanding and our table wasn't ready. So we stood for 30 minutes. The matri d(Sergio) was very apologetic and understood our frustration. We asked to speak to the manager but he was no where to be found. We finally sat at 9. They bought us 2 appetizer which we didn't order that was comped At this point we were done. Used to be a fun place to go and hangout. Good service good food and good drinks. Recently the service has been terrible and the staff has been rude, discourteous and un-accommodating. Went here every week with my boyfriend for over 2 months and one day we walk in and the same server that helps us every week acts like she doesn't know us. I was very excited when they first opened, I was at the grand opening, even though they had their issues it was the first day. I've been there a few times since and have noticed the quantity of food has gotten significantly smaller, it very noticeable, barely any guacamole in bowl, chimachanga were smaller, barely any shrimp in the quesadilla. We paid a nice amount for our bill. You may think you're saving money but in the end you won't be because you'll lose customers. I will be going to East Meadow next time where I used to go, I hope they will be up to par. read more

The food and drinks were amazing. I have been to many Mexican restaurants in Long Island but this one was by far the best. Ask for Leo the bartender as she makes amazing drinks and is a sweetheart. Catalina is sweet, nice as well as a fabulous bartender and waitress. When you have great workers here it makes the experience so much better. Try the aguacate relleno, the steak, the house magarita, a shot of tequila y el flan! Birthday parties are great here too! They sing and put on a sombrero on the birthday guest! First time there and very disappointed. Waitress sat us in the back, which was very dark and next to the only other occupied table. Food was just ok. The reason I definitely won't be returning, is I ordered the taco entree which just came with some shredded lettuce, no diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, etc. When I asked for sour cream, they said there was an additional $2 charge. Call me crazy, but sour cream is a pretty standard condiment with tacos, especially when ordering a complete dinner entree. Also ordered drinks, apps, etc. Very annoying to be nickel and dimed. read more

We were treated horribly here. We walked in as a two person party and they seated a 4 person party before us because they didn't want to waste the larger table on a 2 person party. The 2 person party behind us was angry too and said we should have sat together haha! So then in walks another 4 person party and they get seated. When we asked the man at the hostess podium if it would be a long wait he said,"Well I dont have a table for you so you do the math. I have no clue." They were just rude all around and so we left as did the couple behind us. I tried to tweet them before writing a bad review but they didn't respond or make any attempt to fix this. I will NEVER EVER go back here because it was evident that they don't care about their customers. We live down the block and will make sure to tell all of our neighbors about the horrible experience as well. Never cam back for a 2nd round either. As for the meal, billed for guacamole but never arrived at meal. Main courses were a bit small for the price. I placed an order to pick up to eat at home and when I took my first bite of what looked to be a great taco i was deeply saddened by how bad it was, but the steak burrito made up for it! Went here on a Tuesday evening around 6:30 and it was beyond packed. We waited about a half hour for a table. This place is way too tiny and narrow for the amount of business it does. When our guacamole was made, it had to be done by the hostess station because the cart couldn't be parked near us. When people passed through to their table, their pocketbooks hit us and hovered over our food. When the guacamole was left on our table, we had to ask twice and two different people for chips. With that being said, our actual waitress was great. She was attentive considering how busy she was and really helped us decipher the menu. In addition, the food was terrific as were the drinks. My friends and I came to this restaurant for dinner. We walked in and were sat right away but the waitress took 20 minutes to service us. When we were finally waited on we ordered appetizers and drinks and asked for the waitress to come back so we can order our entrees. Also, the manager in Spanish was bad mouthing us not realizing I'm fluent in the language. The staff was walking around, singing and laughing with each other not waiting on the customers that are the income for the night. We proceeded to give them another shot and order dessert for them to come back and say they only had 1 out of the 3 items on the dessert menu that we ordered. We then spoke with the supervisor who made the situation even worse. Overall, go somewhere else. This place doesn't know the meaning of customer service and treating their customers with any type of respect. I picked up twice from this location (all the times I've tried to eat I couldn't because there was no parking and there was a ridiculous wait time). Both times they have messed up the order. The first time they just gave me 2 orders of rice and beans without my actual meal and the second time they gave me chips without salsa. Now while I do understand mistakes happen, the annoying part of taking out incorrect food is having to drive back to get the right food. I've had problems with the food in Hicksville & East Meadow. It tastes great but is just never done correctly. I once drove to my house 30 minutes from the East Meadow location and saw there was meat in it when I reinstated so many times that I'm a vegetarian and they did nothing to fix it when I called them. This kind of mismanagement & poor customer service makes me no longer want to eat at any of the Margarita Cafe's which is a shame because they do have great food. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We loved the East Meadow Margarita, and were thrilled to have one closer. I called at 5:50 on a Saturday, was told "yes, we certainly can seat a party of 8 in 10 mins." We showed up and the hostess looked at us blankly, then got the manager who asked "can I help you?" When we said we had called and were told to come, he acted like we were lying, and said we'd have to wait 25 mins for a table. We were irritated but sat to wait, and two more parties walked in (one a party of 5 adults) and they sat them immediately at tables that could have accommodated us. I called her out on it and she played dumb so I left. My guess is they didn't want to seat my children. I knew from past experiences that Margarita's doesn't take reservations, which is why I called at the last minute to check if they were busy. Don't trust the hostess and don't bother unless you want to wait on a tiny bench in the entryway. read more
