This is the best Mexican place. They have delicious dishes and the atmosphere is great too. They typically have daily specials for both drinks and food. I have tried a few different steak and chicken dishes. They all have great flavor and come with rice and beans. Before your meal, you are brought chips and salsa along with a slaw and a bean dip. The slaw has a bit of a spice to it so be aware. I love spicy and love it. The margaritas are well made and have a good amount of tequila. There are desserts you can buy but they do bring a small one for everyone if you don't. It's simply a tortilla with whipped cream on top. Simple but yummy! read more

Margarita's has great Mexican food and friendly, attentive servers. I like to order combination number 25 with enchilada, chili Reno and tostada. I take my tostada as guacamole and find it to be something I come back for again and again. So glad they're right in our neighborhood, now located at the old Taco Bell building on Central. But as business is increasing, I imagine they'll need to move to larger facility soon. We always make a point to drop in early before the rush. read more

The place has the cool seating and atmosphere..but their food is horrible the worst Mexican we have EVER eaten. A shame the people are nice but The Margaritas are over priced and made with cheap headache Tequila. read more

What a great place. We stopped here for a late lunch. Not too busy when we arrived. Staff were very friendly and fun. The food was GREAT. I ordered mole shredded beef enchiladas. They were fantastic. Sauce was perfect. Meat was all meat and no fat, which I appreciated very much. My partner ordered prawns and mushrooms in the chili verde sauce (we don't remember the exact name). She said it was great. Our friend ordered the chicken in salsa verde. He also said it was great. Overall, we were very happy with the experience and will definitely go back when we come back to town. My only regret is not remembering to take photos before we started eating. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time and we were hungry he ordered Abondigas soup (Mexican meatball soup). When he got it, it was red like spaghetti sauce with 3 meatballs and no veggies also they put the salsa that comes with the chips in the soup if anyone knows this dish first of all there is aboustley No tomato sauce in it and it tasted like spaghettioos and charged us $12.95 but the waitress knew it was cooked wronged and didn't charge us for it. I don't recommend getting the soup. read more

We showed up later in the evening so maybe they have a local following. I was surprised to see they also specialize in some other foods as well. As far as The word authentic goes. I am not sure I have eaten Mexican food From here to San Diego and nothing duplicates this food and I'm sorry to say that in a bad way. I found the dish to be pre made, scooped and probably microwaved like yesterday's leftovers If you have your heart set on a authentic meal I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Not great but damn are they nice folks! Unlimited chips and salsa is always a plus. I'm a vegetarian and they had a lot of options which is nice. Celery in the fajitas was a bit weird. Margaritas were massive but not strong at all. I hate wasting food, and the waitress took the food away before asking to pack it up. I don't really care because it wasn't good. read more

First time trying this place. For the money I was pretty disappointed unfortunately. Arroz con pollo was SO bland, and tamales barely had any meat and were so bland. Chips and salsa were delivered with my order, and the chips were semi stale and the salsa wasn't good. Sorry, but not ordering from here again. Got churros also, weren't crispy, and whatever fruit/red filling they had wasn't flavorful at all. Portion size was huge, I swear it came in a 13x9 aluminum pan. Wow this place is the bomb! We absolutely loved our waitress, she was so friendly, funny and good to us! The chips and salsa were good, I especially enjoyed the cabbage they give on the side mixed with spices and tomatoes. We had two amazing dishes , the garlic shrimp and mushrooms, which were so good, nice rich flavor , tender shrimp and fresh mushrooms, the rice was amazing and the beans were done perfectly! My husband got the shrimp and scallop burrito type it had grilled onions, and peppers, cheese, and a sour cream sauce that was so delectable! The flan was done nicely too! The service I received here was incredible. Huge smile, way nice, and super helpful in deciding what to order. I got an enchilada and tamale with rice and beans. OH MY HEAVENS. The beans were soooo amazing!!!!! The rest of my meal was a little too mild for me but I put a spoonful of their salsa on my meal and that fixed it up. The salsa was SPICY HOT so be warned! I also enjoyed a large margarita and it had me tipsy by the time I was leaving. Haha! It was so flavorful and could definitely get you in trouble. My husband ordered the special which was a chicken fajita type meal. He thought it was good/okay. Overall, the place was a little too mild/bland but they definitely have a great menu and I'd definitely go back. Also, if anybody knows how to make beans like theirs, please let me know! Thank you Yelp community. This review is from a one time visit. First and foremost the service here is Amazing. Our waitress was super polite and very friendly. She deserves a 5 star alone. She was very busy serving 5 tables and taking payments, playing cashier. She did it all this with a legitimate smile and great personality. The inside is very inviting Not the outside. Inside the place is very clean and decorated nicely. The outside needs some upgrades. The parking lot and location seems a little scetchey. But... go inside and have a bite. Inside has that Mexico/American feel. I give it a 4 star. The food was just above average. About a 3 and half to a 4 star... Like most Mexican food restaurants the proportions are very fulfilling. All in all if your on that side of town and have a Mexican Craving stop in and enjoy!!! read more

I ordered a Pescardo Verde for take out, and my wife ordered a seafood dinner of some kind. The green sauce on the Pescardo Verde was delicious, but unfortunately the halibut (which was in small chunks, not a fillet) had been cooked so long that was like fibrous rubber. I ate the sauce and accompaniments, but threw out the fish -- it was completely inedible. My wife said the the shrimp in her dinner were also massively overcooked, although still edible. Coos Bay is a fishing town. I had hoped that the cooks would know that you can't treat fish like pork. A sad experience, because the flavors in the sauces were great. read more

Friendly and quick service. Order a Cadillac margarita, pour the shot that comes with it inside your drink (I was a rookie). Really good cabbage that comes with your chips and salsa. Tapatío on hand (because it really matters). The guacamole is amazing here. This is not a taco destination, this is more of a traditional meal time restaurant. I played it safe with a quesadilla which was enough food for an adult, even though it's listed as an appetizer. read more

Came through town on our coastal road trip. Had no idea where to go eat, with Covid restrictions we didn't know places offering dine-in so we took a chance and so glad we did! First time visit and it was garbage to say the least. Ordered a chimi because I figured it'd be a safe bet, I was wrong. It was smaller than a hot pocket and had maybe a bite of chicken in it. Everyone who saw it kinda laughed and didn't say anything. I ate it in a few bites and finished off the rice and beans which were ok. I didn't say anything to the waitress because I was with a group of my sisters work friends and had waited long enough for the food. The bill came and the waitress tried adding a margarita onto the bill and my mini chimi was there for full price. I would not recommend, there are other Mexican restaurants in town that are better. read more

First off the Pico De gallo was brown with brown liquid. I wouldn't even touch it but my BF said it tasted like it had been sitting for days. I ordered the taco salad. At first looked good. After two bites realized there was no flavor. Very bland. Absolutely no seasoning of any kind. Couldnt even finish it. My BF got the fajitas. Also zero seasoning and hardly any meat to speak of. In all the food was totally bland and i could have made a better meal and would have had seasoning!! Dont suggest going there EVER. must have had new owners because rhe food used to be good. Since Margarita's is about 1/2 mile from our house and has gotten good reviews, we figured we'd best give it a try. Good decision. My wife and I both got the special: Grande Chile Verde burritos, to go. I expected a loaf-of-bread size burrito like you get in CA, but this was a full platter, including beans, rice, guacamole and crema. The chile verde was very good, the pork tender and well-trimmed, with a tasty tomatillo sauce. The beans, (whole, per request,) and rice were also flavorful, and the guacamole was good. I kind of wish that I'd ordered the regular chile verde plate; it was that good. The salsa was also homemade and plenty hot. We will definitely be going back to try some of the more adventurous items on the menu. read more

Got so excited over the first visit I insisted on sharing it with friends last night. Could've been a different cook, or maybe it was because they were busy (and they were not on my first visit) but the food was not quite the same. One in our party actually got sick, and two of us left not feeling great. Will give this place another chance for sure.
