Stopped here for dinner with two kids. Got a table pretty much right away even though they were very busy. However, we were never offered a booster seat or high chair. They did have a pretty decent kids menu for those not inclined to eat Mexican. It was easy to tell they we're under staffed, but our waiter did his best to keep us happy. All the food was good and so were the drinks. My final complaint was there appears to be no AC so it was pretty hot and we left a little sweaty. read more

The tortillas were rather soggy but the steak was good, a little bland though. The pico de Gallo was perfect. Beans and rice we're good. My wife liked her chimichanga. They have a full bar. I was surprised to see so many raving reviews after we dined at Margarita's for the first time. We live locally and wanted to branch out to try a new spot but we had many regrets. To start, the restaurant was worn down and dirty. But we didn't let that stop us. There was a wait to be seat so we sat at the bar. It was about 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server who was initially very friendly. After we ordered our food we waited about 30 minutes. My meal eventually came out but was incorrect. My boyfriend was waiting on his meal, which the waiter told us "was coming". The kitchen remade my entire meal before any of the other meals came out. We waited another 30 minutes, still no sign of the other meals and our server was no where to be found. We finally gave up after about 45 minutes, asked for the bill and left without ever receiving the other meals; which we ended up being thankful for after we all had a few bites of my meal - the spinach was soggy and tasted fishy. Ok, it doesn't have a new look on the outside but the service is good, clean restaurant and prices are right. Prices are cheap actually. Family of four with cocktails was only about $50 Obligatory chips salsa: pretty standard but they have two salsas. Regular and HOT. Pretty good. Drinks: there is a shareable bowl-a-Rita. A couple orders that next to us and they didn't get half way there when we left. It's served in some wheelbarrow or 55-gallon drum or something. It's big. Food: Got the chicken nachos app. We have picky kids but they wolfed that down. I think it was dark meat chicken so lots of flavor. Slamming app. The kids loved the kids taco. Yeah it is just a kids taco but it was Filled with meat and cheese. One was enough. Carnitas were almost shareable, healthy servings. Don't know was crack is in the retried beans but they seemed creamier and tastier than the normal side dish. Skip the long wait at that nacho place and try here. read more

Loved everything about this place. The decor was way cute (i'll update with pictures later), service was fast, and the food was excellent. Started off with the chips and salsa (free) and I ordered the texas guacemole with it. I loved it. I love when guacemole has chunks of tomatoes and onions in them. Makes it more exciting! The salsa they gave us with the chips were delicious. I loved the hot one. Didn't really eat much of the mild bc I'm a heat kinda girl. Drinks - I ordered a pina colada and strawberry daquiri mixed and my husband ordered some sort of margarita. They were HUGE!! I didn't expect it to be so big. :-) SCORE!!! Dinner - Special Dinner (One Burrito,one Enchilada,one Taco, one Chalupa and one Chile Relleno, served with Rice and Fried Beans) was good, but it wasn't anything spectacular. Husband ordered Mojarra Frita (whole fried fish) and it was DELICIOUS!!! Mmmm, I'm craving some more right now. It was nice and crispy and the meat was so moist! My parents and I dined at Margarita's on 9/8/15. We were pleased to see the restaurant wasn't that crowded at 5:15pm. As soon as we sat down, we had chips and salsa on the table. The chips were good, but the salsa wasn't. I agree with another review that said the mild salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce. Our sever came over to take our drink and food orders. I ordered the flautas mexicanas, which is 2 chicken, 2 beef taquitos with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes, and mexican rice. My mom ordered the fajita quesadillas, which is steak with onions, bell peppers, cheese, with guacamole, sour cream salad, refried beans and rice on the side. My dad ordered the camarones al mojo del ajo, which is shrimp sautéed with butter and garlic, with rice and beans, and sides of sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes and a side of 3 plain tortillas wrapped in foil. I also ordered a guacamole appetizer when our sever took our drink order, but it never came to the table. Our server realized the mistake when our food came out and offered to have one made and brought out to us, but I declined. The food was just okay. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best I've ever had either. My father enjoyed his shrimp and the sauce it came in. My mother thought the fajita meat was seasoned fine. The meat in my flautas was pretty bland, as was the rice that didn't taste like anything. Unfortunately, the service was very slow. Our server was polite, but he didn't come back to check on us after we got our food. He only came back to give us our check, and we never saw him again. We sat a the table for about 5-10 minutes waiting for him to come back to take our credit card. Tired of waiting, we left cash instead and we gave our check to another server so we could leave. The restaurant wasn't very full when we left, so I have no idea what was going on. We've eaten here a couple of times before on vacation and never had a problem with the food or service, so maybe this was just an off night? We're not completely writing this place off, but it'll probably be a very long time before we go back. read more

One expressed an interest in Mexican food. Say no more. Off we went. Chips were served warm with mild and hot salsa. I mix together for medium. :) We each had different entrees and enjoyed them all. Two required take home boxes. Normally I am not a dessert person - especially after consuming two margaritas AND dinner. However, I had read the raves over the fried ice cream, so dessert it was. TIP: SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! Even if it means skipping dinner. Well. Kidding about that. You don't want to miss that either. The FIC is a HUGE portion. It was shared. Average Mexican food. Outside of the restaurant really needs to be cleaned up and painted. If there wasn't a few cars in the lot you'd think it was an abandon building. The salsa was bland. Service was average at best. The restaurant was not crowded at all yet they seemed very overwhelmed. For this to be voted best Mexican food at the beach, I'm kind of concerned about the other restaurants in the area. The food wasn't bad at all. This little place was absolutely the best. It was not only affordable flavorful food but it the service here was great! Big flavors come with such a small place because I remember having very little food left to take home! It's so much food but it was one of the most memorable spots I checked out in Myrtle Beach and it was close to our resort. Don't be basic and just get tacos explore the menu. The service was incredibly slow at 5pm on a Wednesday in the off-season. I had to ask for a water three times before I got one. When the food finally arrived, there was no silverware and the waiter said he would get some but then we saw him bringing food to other tables. We just sat there watching him work while our food got cold. Someone in our party spilled a full margarita and broke the glass, and I got no help from the staff cleaning it up, even after I let them know (because I needed more napkins). This place was very disappointing. They brought out the chips and salsa and the bowls had old food stuck to it. I ask them to give us clean bowls she brought them out. My daughter got chicken fingers because she was not Mexican food fan and she was give a plate with old food and old sauce hiding under her food. She didn't even have sauce on her food before it was noticed. I told the waitress she act like she had a problem with me saying something. We are from Texas and as much as seafood sounds good, but we were REALLY wanting some authentic Mexican food!! Margarita's did not disappoint!! Service was friendly and quick.
