From the minute you walk through the door, you are treated like family. I really enjoyed the conversation and atmosphere. The place is quaint and encourages you to sit down, relax, and enjoy. Salads and bread were good. Eggplant parm was delicious and so was the California chicken. Definitely recommend both. Marques is still some of the freshest the most delicious Italian food available in Griffin! The recipe for the lasagna has been passed down for generations and is still a dish to be reckoned with against any other in the area. The Mediterranean dishes are also delicious and I absolutely love their hummus and baba ghanoush- syrup with a hot homemade fresh pita..... Truly a family run establishment- v homey energetic find in Griffin. Certainly Not a Corporate chain. Their crusty gratis Italian Garlic bread was killer, no kidding. All the waitstaff felt like sisters driving the place; was asked if I 'doin alright' by multiple staff, very welcoming, hot, and homey. Too sweeet; Their menu selections are cool and varied, especially for a Mediterranean pad; feels like an honest Medi spot from Italy to Lebanon. I eats calamari all the time, these folks outdid themselves ; it- light, crispy, & fresh Their Salmon Greek salad is out of this world, and, she asked how I want my salmon cooked (rare of course :) (Most Griffin pads don't ask; I gets every few months I land in Griffin.) Date of Visit: Nov 16, 2021 I stopped into Margo's for some lunch with a friend. We both ordered the Seafood di Capellini (creamy parmesean Artichoke sauce with baby shrimp, crab paste over angel hair pasta) We ordered a gyro wrap with fries to try. I also ordered a side of angel hair as normally not much is included for my personal eating style. We both ordered a soft drink as well. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The meal arrived in about 10 minutes. The seafood dish came on an extremely large helping of angel hair. One of the few times I have visited a restaurant where when they say family size helping, they actually mean it. The seafood dish was pretty good. I did feel the sauce could use more garlic, but that is a personal preference. The staff were very fast on refills without prompting. The gyro sadly was not good at all. It was from presliced very thin gyro meat which was some of the worst I have tried out of hundreds of gyro places. The tzatziki sauce normally can mask a bad gyro but that didn't help either. It came in a handmade wrap. Owners, please revisit your gyro wrap. Maybe use a better quality gyro and thicker meat. The thin slices dry out too quickly and are rarely very good. Possibly experiment with a new tzatziki sauce. My Lebanese friend was with me at the time and he agreed it was not even edible. We took it home, tried it again but it simply wasn't edible due to flavor and we tossed it out. The french fries were good. Overall, outside of the gyro, we had a great visit. Don't let the small size and plain nondescript exterior fool you. Inside are nice people and your Italian grandmother's (Janis Michelle's) cooking! Just like everyone is "Irish" on St. Patrick's, this is the place for a wide variety of excellent and authentic Mediterranean food. Totally fresh and made to order from scratch, including the "puffies" garlic bread. Our group of three seasoned world travelers here in Griffin for a one-day job. Had a wide variety of dishes and all excellent. Ariel very attentive and pleasant. Prices reasonable. Nothing lacking. Doesn't look like much on the outside. I went based on their menu choices. We got an order of pita and hummus, we had 2 orders of the garlic herb pasta (one with chicken added) an order of the Seafood Di Capellini, Chicken Parmesan and a large chicken Greek salad. The 4 orders besides the Greek salad came with freshly baked garlic rolls and a side salad. The garlic her pasta had a medley of vegetables like yellow squash, broccoli, red peppers and the sauce was a light garlic butter sauce and was pretty good, just needed a little more seasoning. The seafood di capellini had very large shrimp in it and was covered liberally in a Alfredo sauce. The chicken parmigiana had a large chicken with a very crunchy exterior on it and a large pile of spaghetti and sauce. It had good flavor and seasoning. The garlic rolls were very soft and seasoned and delicious. I could have been happy to just eat those. I definitely had leftovers to take home but a visit the next time we come to town is definitely in order. read more

We made reservations for Margo's for Fathers Day. Since living in Griffin since 2001, we had never stopped by or even thought of it as a place to eat. Holy mother of all the flavors!!! What a hidden jewel in the middle of griffin! I now know never to judge a book by its cover! The bread brought to the sable with the olive oil save was divine. The hummus and FRESH pita bread just melted into a blissful melody. The cheese on the salad was so fresh and salad so crisp. Since it was Fathers Day we pushed forward and ordered our main courses. Our waiter was intuitive and he gave us the best suggestions on which meals to try. My husband the spaghetti with meat sauces, my Mom the Salmon and vegetables, my Bonus Dad had the Garlic Herb Pasta with chicken and I had steak spaghetti! The service was perfect, our waiter knew so much, And people when I tell you to wear your stretchy pants and bring you table muscle and hunger game I mean it! The steaming pasta pilled high. The salmon still steaming hot and the steak pasta has CHEESE! I love this family business and it's uniqueness. I will be coming back again and again! Epic choice for a new pre-fathers day meal! - Service and good I had a hearing at the Spalding County court house in the morning and decided to forego breakfast to ensure I arrived on time to argue my case. I arrived earlier than usual and overheard the nicest lady in the world talking to the clerks. She asked what I did and said "I'm an attorney", and she immediately became excited and gave me a card to her restaurant. Given her southern charm and my increased hunger I told her I would come by an ear after my hearing. Fast forward an hour later, I entered Margo's and was immediately greeted by the hostess and gave her the card I received. Turns out her son was right next to the hostess and immediately sat me and to my surprise, the lady from the court house was next to me as well. They took care of me as if I was some A-List celebrity. I dined on their amazingly freshly cooked bread and hummus and had their shrimp Alfredo dish, which was quite full filling. 1st impressions mean everything and Margo, her son, the staff, and the food have a special place in my heart. I had seen this place on occasional trips through Griffin. It reminded me of a few non-chain Italian places we used to frequent quite a while ago. It is not super-convenient to where we live, but we opted to try something different and make the drive one recent Saturday. The restaurant is located just west of downtown Griffin. It is a stand-alone building and looks like it may have been some sort of fast food place originally. Their parking lot rings the building. We got seated right away (at around 6 p.m.). They were not packed, but seemed to be doing a good business. The menu was surprisingly diverse - in addition to pastas and pizza, they also had gyros, fish, and even burgers. I was actually hoping that they offered a wider variety of pasts, though. My dish (angel hair and meat sauce) was pretty standard. I will say that they give you a huge portion, so I had leftovers aplenty. My wife opted to try the gyro, and she wasn't impressed. There are multiple places near us that do a better gyro. Margo's may not look super fancy but everyone there including owner are very nice. Of course I've had tastier pastas in my life but for a local place it's definitely better then most in griffin. I ordered Alfredo with only broccoli, mushrooms and the helping was huge, with bread and salad for an amazing price compared to most. It's usually pretty quiet and clean. Yes it's a little outdated but as long as it's clean, friendly and ok food then this place is great. But there are also things that were not so good. The pizza is not good. I was happy with the portion but the chicken parm could use more sauce to compensate for all that pasta. Chicken tenders were from frozen, not worth $3 let alone what they actually charged. Each time I order it's perfect! If they run out of an item that makes a dish special, they offer another dish and explain they don't want to ruin the original recipe listed on the menu. So we were in Griffin for a Gourd Festival and we were really hungry so I checked Yelp for local restaurant not a fast food place. Much to our surprise places recommended by locals were closed on Sat and Sunday; restaurants closed on weekends?!? Not a business location lunch place but a lunch/dinner restaurant...must be a story to this fact so we were kind of limited to were we could go. .Margo's Medit Cuisine seemed to have pretty good reviews so went there. It is small and appears it is an older building/place. We were there about 5:15 and there were about 4-5 people waiting for take out..good sign, I guess. Our sever was friendly we each order a large Greek salad one with chicken, one with gyro meat and a side of humus and pita. They brought us garlic rolls, still warm and crunchy. The humus was liquidy not watery but just very fluidity but it was flavorful. My salad was small for a large- not much lettuce, half a tomato cut into 2 piece, regular black olives (not Kalamata), maybe three slices of white onions, few sliced green pepper and very little feta cheese. The gyro meat was fine about 5 slices and my friend had plenty of chicken. Maybe a big plate of some type of pasta is the way to go here but my salad, humus side, water then with tip, just for me, was $25!?!? read more

Can I do zero stars? Went in 1 time. Very dimly lit...creepily so. Sat in a booth and pretty sure I almost bottomed out! Not clean inside and again very dark. Then came time to order. My words can not describe how amazing this place is! I highly recommend the food from Margo's Cuisine! Mr. Pierre excellent person and very ethical! I have to admit that it's been a while since I've eaten at Margo's. Maybe 15 years? I used to love it but I have to say that it's declined as far as Mediterranean cuisine is concerned. Seems like they had dolmas on the menu last time that I was here. The first two appetizers that we tried ordering from the menu were not available so we went with the pickled baby eggplant (two golf all sized stuffed baby eggplant in a bed of lettuce). It was pathetic for the price. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Garlic knots came out right before our entree did. Gyro seemed to be wrapped in a tortilla. Seriously. It looked weird. Fries were from a bag in the freezer but they looked good. The California Grilled Chicken came sliced instead of whole, but it was moist and had great texture. The vegetables were frozen types and had no seasoning. At least throw some oregano & pepper on there, right? Make it somewhat ethnic? Bottom line is, if you want Greek or Mediterranean food just find a Nick's location and get the decedent & scrumptious real deal. read more

Dine at your own risk! This place has serious hygiene issue. My boyfriend started to vomit 10 mins after his terrible meal here. The server suggests this seafood pasta dish that, according to the menu description, promises jumbo shrimp. Alas what we got was tiny little shrimp definitely cook from frozen. After complaining with our first server, she apologize and disappear (?) We attempted to voice our concern to another server and she finally able to get the owner out to talk with us. He explained that they out of big shrimps so he will take $2.00 of this $15.99 dish for us. SERIOUSLY? We paid and left after 2nd bite knowing we never come back. We also shared this experience with our friends, co workers in Griffin and to our surprise, many agreed with us how bad of a choice to try this place. I had the chicken lasagna and manicotti and both were delicious. The portions were very oversized and the service was excellent with very good information and attention and very little wait time. Phenomenal food, excellent service. Large portions of authentic Mediterranean food. I'm not particularly fond of the atmosphere at the restaurant but we order carry out often. The restaurant needs an upgrade but the food is really good. Especially the lasagna. The wait staff is friendly.

We came back a second time and had a little bit of a different experience. Service was lacking, we had a different waitress. We had to ask for napkins, a spoon, and bread multiple times before she would remember to bring them to the table. It also took until we were finished with our appetizer for us to get our sangria we ordered. We tried the calamari, sauce was good, calamari was nothing special. I don't care for the breading they use, on the calamari and their chicken Parmesan. Our last visit we enjoyed the baked chicken Parmesan, it was much better. We tried the steak spaghetti, I enjoyed it. Unique to me. I would go back again! Just hoping for consistency with service. Their homemade sauces are very worth it.
