    Gyro wrap
    David S.

Date of Visit: Nov 16, 2021 I stopped into Margo's for some lunch with a friend. We both ordered the Seafood di Capellini (creamy parmesean Artichoke sauce with baby shrimp, crab paste over angel hair pasta) We ordered a gyro wrap with fries to try. I also ordered a side of angel hair as normally not much is included for my personal eating style. We both ordered a soft drink as well. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The meal arrived in about 10 minutes. The seafood dish came on an extremely large helping of angel hair. One of the few times I have visited a restaurant where when they say family size helping, they actually mean it. The seafood dish was pretty good. I did feel the sauce could use more garlic, but that is a personal preference. The staff were very fast on refills without prompting. The gyro sadly was not good at all. It was from presliced very thin gyro meat which was some of the worst I have tried out of hundreds of gyro places. The tzatziki sauce normally can mask a bad gyro but that didn't help either. It came in a handmade wrap. Owners, please revisit your gyro wrap. Maybe use a better quality gyro and thicker meat. The thin slices dry out too quickly and are rarely very good. Possibly experiment with a new tzatziki sauce. My Lebanese friend was with me at the time and he agreed it was not even edible. We took it home, tried it again but it simply wasn't edible due to flavor and we tossed it out. The french fries were good. Overall, outside of the gyro, we had a great visit. We will be back for the seafood fish for sure.

We made reservations for Margo's for Fathers Day. Since living in Griffin since 2001, we had never stopped by or even thought of it as a place to eat. Holy mother of all the flavors!!! What a hidden jewel in the middle of griffin! I now know never to judge a book by its cover! The bread brought to the sable with the olive oil save was divine. The hummus and FRESH pita bread just melted into a blissful melody. The cheese on the salad was so fresh and salad so crisp. Since it was Fathers Day we pushed forward and ordered our main courses. Our waiter was intuitive and he gave us the best suggestions on which meals to try. My husband the spaghetti with meat sauces, my Mom the Salmon and vegetables, my Bonus Dad had the Garlic Herb Pasta with chicken and I had steak spaghetti! The service was perfect, our waiter knew so much, And people when I tell you to wear your stretchy pants and bring you table muscle and hunger game I mean it! The steaming pasta pilled high. The salmon still steaming hot and the steak pasta has CHEESE! I love this family business and it's uniqueness. I will be coming back again and again! Epic choice for a new pre-fathers day meal! Very laid back environment.

    - Service and good I had a hearing at the Spalding County court house in the morning and decided to forego breakfast to ensure I arrived on time to argue my case. I arrived earlier than usual and overheard the nicest lady in the world talking to the clerks. She asked what I did and said "I'm an attorney", and she immediately became excited and gave me a card to her restaurant. Given her southern charm and my increased hunger I told her I would come by an ear after my hearing. Fast forward an hour later, I entered Margo's and was immediately greeted by the hostess and gave her the card I received. Turns out her son was right next to the hostess and immediately sat me and to my surprise, the lady from the court house was next to me as well. They took care of me as if I was some A-List celebrity. I dined on their amazingly freshly cooked bread and hummus and had their shrimp Alfredo dish, which was quite full filling. 1st impressions mean everything and Margo, her son, the staff, and the food have a special place in my heart. Marketing and advertising can cost a thousand dollars but being nice is free and so is word of mouth. The next time I have a hearing in Griffin, I will stop by Margo's to eat with my extended family! - hospitality and friendliness

    Baked chicken parmesan.

I was happy with the portion but the chicken parm could use more sauce to compensate for all that pasta. Chicken tenders were from frozen, not worth $3 let alone what they actually charged. Also the tea warm, and destroyed the only ice I was given. Does this place not have an ice machine? Could have been much better. Sadly it was not.

Very good food and service. Overlook the grungy exterior, it's nicer inside the restaurant.

But this Greek and Italian restaurant stood out from the rest. The murals on the walls and the green and red colors made me feel like I was in Italy on vacation. We settled in a booth, took one look at the menu, and decided we would do what we call a sampler! So we ordered a huge pizza that tasted as if it came right from Italy, but it had that New York-style taste I so love, too. The pasta was very hearty, meaty, with a light, rich sauce. I think it was a buttery type sauce. We added wings and calamari, which were just as good and flavorful. I like a lot of crispy crunch to my wings! Also, we couldn't leave without adding a dessert on the way out. I have to say the dessert display case is really something to admire. So we started with one dessert. I believe it was the tiramisu and a slice of cake that led to several more tastings and the purchase of more desserts on the way out; they were just so good! Now I have to give the staff a big thank you! We had a little one with us; she enjoyed the food, but the murals on the wall really caught her attention. She asked the staff a zillion questions, and they were so kind to her. Thank you again!

My partner is originally from New York, I'm originally from Connecticut, and we are both very fussy about pizza. We are the kind of people who will drive an hour from Conyers just to get a pizza here, with no other errands attached. That alone should tell you everything. We usually get a huge pepperoni pie and share it. They do have slices, and the slices are excellent too, but I recommend getting the whole pie if you can. Every pizza we have had here has been picture-perfect. Perfect crust, perfect sauce, perfect cheese, properly cooked toppings, and that real New York-style balance of crispy, chewy, melty, slightly floppy, and dangerously hot. The crust has the right crisp and chew. The sauce is flavorful without being too much. The cheese has that classic low-moisture mozzarella richness, and it is seasoned beautifully before baking. That is one of those details a lot of places miss. Up north, the cheese is not just bland melted cheese sitting there doing nothing. It has flavor. It has oregano. It has seasoning. It has personality. I Love New York Pizza gets that right. The first time we went, the owner was there, the family was there, and people were speaking Italian behind the counter. Then I saw the case full of slices and immediately thought, "Okay, we are safe. We are in good hands." You can tell just by looking at the pizza that it is right. Is this the greatest New York pizza you will ever have in your life? Maybe not. Is it possibly the best New York-style pizza you are going to get in this area? Absolutely. To me, it tastes like the kind of standard, classic, universally enjoyable New York pizza you would bring someone to for their first real slice experience. We almost always dine in, and there is always enough to take leftovers home. The staff is great, the service is great, the timing is great, and the consistency is honestly impressive. We drive an hour hoping to get the same perfect pizza we had last time, and they deliver every time. I will be honest: I come here for the pizza. I do not really care for the garlic knots, and I have not been especially attached to the non-pizza items I have tried. But if you have a serious up-north pizza craving, that does not matter. Get the pizza. Get the whole pie. Let it set for a minute if you have the patience, because it comes out burning hot. Or risk it all and burn your mouth on the first bite like I sometimes do. Worth it. I Love New York Pizza is the spot. Picky Northerner approved.

Well the last few times we have been the game has been fun but the food has left a lot to be desired. Tonight we all ordered slices of pizza (5 of us in the group) and of course a couple of pitchers of beer. All of our pizzas were dried out, not a lot of toppings and large areas with no toppings at all (bubbles in the dough). This was our first time back in a couple of months because the food quality had already been going down on our last couple of visits. Tonight was just awful. Bad thing too cause we brought my sister for her first time and she was not at all impressed. I hate this because they used to be SO good. Service is about the same as it's always been (so-so) and we love the restaurant itself but I'm not sure if we will be coming back. It's just not worth $50+ for 2 people when the food quality is so disappointing. We noticed too that a lot of other Tuesday night regulars weren't there tonight. Wonder if they have been experiencing the same sad food. We will wait another month or so and maybe try again. It's really sad though when our other trivia spot is a bar and they have better food........
