    Wild Mushroom Ravioli

We came here for an early dinner. We were a little late for our reservation, but they seated us right away at a table that could accommodate our stroller. The restaurant is small and cozy. Large metal chandeliers adorn the ceilings and it has an upscale, rustic vibe with candles on the tables. Their menu is enticing. It's Italian inspired, but has lots of variety beyond the classic dishes. The appetizers were fantastic. The crispy artichokes were airy and melted in your mouth. The brussel sprouts were deliciously crispy with a pleasantly sweet sauce. I enjoyed the pistachios on them. The eggplant fries were a unique offering and very tasty topped with crumbled parmesan cheese. They would've been even better with a dipping sauce. For my main, I had the mushroom ravioli. The sauce was rich and creamy and it was topped with sharp parmesan and arugula. I enjoyed it, but the portion size was quite small, as the dish only included four pieces of ravioli. My husband got the black linguine and enjoyed the accompanying cream sauce with shrimp and lobster. To drink, I had the queen margherita, which was nice and tangy from the passion fruit. The waiters were great about refilling our water. The entrees took a little while to come out, but overall service was good. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

I had a really nice dinner here. We started off with spare ribs, which were really tasty and perfect. For entrées, we ordered the pasta with the Sunday sauce and the pork Parmesan. The pork was pounded pretty flat with a nice crust of gooey Parmesan cheese, really delicious. The Sunday sauce had meatballs, sausage, and lamb, which had a hint of cinnamon flavor in the background. Really excellent. Atmosphere is very cute, with a screen behind the bar that changes pictures every few minutes. Very amusing! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and efficient, and the chef served us himself. We really enjoyed our dinner here, and plan to come back to try some new things.

Maria was a huge win for me. I'm not always in the mood for Italian, but I would definitely come here again. They had the best Brussels sprout dish I've ever had. Ever. Don't hesitate and order it now! We also really liked our beets. They were fresh and bright. I also loved our eggplant fries. Our waitress was chill and mostly attentive. I can't wait to visit again.

Broiled 24oz Prime Rib Eye (for 2) -- we splurged and it was one of the best meals of my life. Four of us split the Prime Rib with sides. Potatoes, Broccoli-rabe, Braised Carrots, Artichokes... and something came with delectable Fava Beans. Every dish was finger licking, and a'schapett' worth. Including great Italian bread. They use a coarse sea salt, that opens the flavor of the dishes. Bravo to the chef. Vino and drinks all excellent. Waitstaff friendly and accomodating and excellent. And the decor has style; super clean and airy, high ceilings, good room tone. We carried on a conversation easily although the place got crowded. Glad we arrived early. Great art on the walls; a hand painting of mason jars, an amazing gilded mask of El Diavolo; gold beard! Cool chandeliers, copper tin plating on wall... Beautiful Congrats to the owner and staff. Top notch.

Maria Restaurant has been on my list to visit since I've been living in Westchester. Went on a Saturday evening at 7pm for a couples date night. Felt rushed ordering drinks and food, but our server was nice. Drinks were refreshing. Appetizers came out pretty quick, the meatballs and burrata and beets were my favorite. My friends enjoyed the baked clams and octopus. I ordered the black linguine, it was very flavorful and the portions were generous. My husband ordered the beef bracciole, he was not impressed and thought it was just ok. My friends ordered lamb chops and the pork chop parmigiana and they loved their dishes. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, whoopie pie, and pop's famous dannolo. The desserts were good. The menu looked a little different online from the menu we ordered from the restaurant. My husband and friend didn't find what they originally wanted that was online. Overall experience was good, glad I finally got to check this place out. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon, this place did not wow me and I've had better Italian food elsewhere.

I'm going to say that the bartending staff made awesome recommend recommendations ; steered me through a cocktail that was delicious. Refresh it and totally out of my norm when we got to our table the waitress was efficient, but she's Russian and since I do have part Rushing in my background, I do understand their speech is shortened to the point we would've been OK with that because our meal was wonderful and she did go out of her way with a lot of stuff, but she basically tore us towards the end when we paid and tipped her that they needed a table for someone else, I did see as I was walking out. The person waiting for the table was on crutches and didn't need to be seated what I believe would've been a better way of handling it was to see the person at the bar or tell us that they had a person with a disability needing the seat and we would've gladly removed ourselves. My other companions didn't know this, and they were highly offended and thought it was rude, and I believe complaint to the manager. I'm going to say that part of it was the cultural differences between us, and she didn't realize maybe she was being extra rude by telling us they knew the table for someone else other than that I was pleased with the food the experience, and definitely the bartending staff. Our fishes were delicious our appetizer which was recommendations by the waitress the Barada clams totally perfect so I'm gonna say that I'm gonna give this place in the shot and not let one hiccup ruin what could be a beautiful relationship

Food was delicious!!! We got a big steak and a chicken parm for the table and shared a few pasta dishes. Really nice vibe and service. Will definitely be coming back.

I went for dinner at Maria's on a Monday after a doctor appointment. I arrived about 5pm. This is a neighborhood gem. I will say I wish the Monday menu was a bit more extensive like the menu online but nonetheless what I selected for appetizers and a meal was good. For appetizers we had the grilled baby lamb chops, the cauliflower fritters and meatballs. The chops and cauliflower were so good we ordered a 2nd round. The meatballs were not to my liking. I wasn't a fan of the texture but the sauce was good. I wanted to try the pork ribs but they didn't have them. For our meal we shared the black linguini. That was very tasty and the shrimp was big and so fresh. It could have had more garlic and some Parmesan cheese but it is a very good dish. I opted for a cosmo as my drink. I don't like sweet drinks so they made my drink perfect for me. The service was very friendly and attentive. This restaurant is intimate setting perfect for family , dinner date or just dining with friends.

My wine group has been here now three times and it absolutely delivers every time! From the amazingly attentive waitstaff including the bartender to the seemingly endless amounts of delicious food that keeps coming out. Gio knows how to treat his guests! Our group was treated to family style dishes of tender meatballs, lamb lollipops, truffled green beans, rosemary potatoes, two different types of pasta, salami and cheese, baked clams oreganata, baked oysters, individual sized pizzas, then the meat course came out! Seared tuna steaks, grilled lamb and absolutely phenomenal ribeye steaks. Dessert was a trio of pistachio and chocolate cannoli, a cream cake and pistachio ice cream. This was such an amazing meal! I will 100% be back for more!

For pre-mother's day dinner, I snagged a last minute reservation for a party of three. I guess it's a good thing Maria's isn't open on Sundays because we avoided waiting with the Mother's Day dinner crowd. My party was originally going to walk in but after calling the restaurant, the hostess wasn't able to give us an estimated wait time. Thankfully some reservations opened up on Resy so we didn't have to deal with the walk in headache. When we arrived, the hostess was on her phone, looked at me, and went back to her phone and finally addressed me when she was done. Very unprofessional. When our server led us to our table and we were seated, the experience took a turn for the better. Our server was very personable and gave us some menu recommendations. She checked in from time to time and didn't make us feel rushed to order. The best items were the baby lamb chops, truffled green beans (complimentary), and mushroom ravioli. The lamb chops were super tender and well seasoned even with the spicy sauce on the side. The green beans were served cold but it worked because the green beans had a nice crunch with a splash of truffle oil. The mushroom ravioli was a balanced and creamy concoction that was mushroom forward in a tasty way. The rest of the dishes were well executed but not standouts. The only thing I was disappointed with was my potato gnocchi with braised short rib. The gnocchi was overcooked and the sauce, protein, pasta ratio was off. The ambiance is old school lounge with indigo sofas and mini chandeliers that are primarily for aesthetic rather than lighting. It also gives me a fancy medieval castle with splashes of modern color depending where you're sitting. Outside of the unprofessional hostess, our dining experience was great. There aren't a lot of "fancy" restaurants to choose from in New Rochelle and it was nice that our party of three were able to get in last minute. Just a tip for those ordering Tiramisu: order one and share it.

I came here with my friend and daughter for lunch during restaurant week. We've driven past this restaurant many times and I always wanted to see what they were about. We made reservations and when we arrived, they were quite empty. We sat at a nice banquet table and the bartender doubled as the server. He was very nice. I want to say that his name was Eric but I can't remember. The decor of the restaurant is nice. I love their blue banquet seating, the exposed ceilings and light fixtures. It's a cool set up. We ordered many things off the menu, including their baked clams, which are phenomenal. We also had some seared tuna and salmon tartare, which were both very good. For our entrées, I opted for their New Zealand lamb chops and my gf ordered their whole Cornish hen. My kiddo had some spaghetti with sauce from the kid's menu. We had a poached pear with Nutella marscapone, and an affogato with vanilla bean gelato. Everything was very good. I ended up visiting again with hubby and we had an equally good time.

Maria is a small, low-lit restaurant with an intimate feel. We were greeted warmly and immediately and sat in a cozy little corner near the window. We started with the mom's meatballs, made with whipped ricotta toast and pomodoro. They were cooked well and the sauce was pretty good. I thought they could use a little more seasoning, but my husband said he thought the seasoning was appropriate. We also had the bang bang Brussels sprouts, made with fermented garlic honey, chili, pistachios, and a sesame pumpkin puree. Sprouts were crispy and smoky and had some gentle heat from a roasted Serrano pepper included. They are apparently known for their roasted oysters and baked clams, but that's not our thing. Their selection also included crispy artichokes, cauliflower fritters, blistered peppers, and burrata and beets. They have several high end Italian entrees. I had the wild mushroom ravioli, made with rosemary cream, asiago, and rocket (arugula). I didn't pick up on the rosemary much, but the dish was woody and pleasant. My husband had the spinach gnocchi in the bolognese sauce (you can also choose Gorgonzola cream). I thought his dish was super savory and flavorful. I liked mine, but I think I liked his better. Other pasta selections: black linguine, rigatoni, lasagna. There is a delicious looking gnocchi served with braised short rib rage and marsala parmigiano that I would like to try next time. The Pics cache e Pepe looks awesome too: smoked pecorino cream, telicherry pepper, and scallions (on second thought, maybe I'll try that next time). There is an expansive pasta menu, as well as a veggie menu, serving things like charred carrots, crushed potatoes with rosemary and parmesan, and salads. Mains include cod, Cornish hen, pork chops, salmon, octopus, lamb shank, and multiple cuts of steak. You can also choose various types of parm. They have a short, sweet, yet sophisticated desert menu including tarts and cannolis. My husband had the tiramisu, which was classic. Cool, moist, and coffee flavored. I had the pistachio tartufo, which is pistachio ice cream or gelato served inside a chocolate shell. When combined with the strawberries served on the side, it was such a refreshing, satisfying way to end a meal. I had a couple of glasses of wine. They have a few basic cocktails, but wine is the way to go here. Nothing fancy, but nice accompaniments to the food. Service was absolutely wonderful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made helpful suggestions. And the rest of the staff checked in on us, made sure our waters were filled, and kept our table clean. Definitely coming back again, for both the food and the service.

I arrived around 5:30 p.m. and was waiting for my friend, who was about 30 minutes away. The bar was completely empty at the time. One of the waitresses kindly offered me a nearby table while I waited. I ordered a sparkling water and spinach artichoke dip and sat there until my friend arrived. Once my friend arrived, our waitress told us she understood that I had only been sitting at that table while waiting and offered to show us the back area so we could choose where we wanted to sit. We walked through the restaurant, saw the outdoor patio, and decided to sit outside. After about 20 minutes, while still waiting for our appetizers, bugs repeatedly landed on the table and were biting us. We decided we would be more comfortable inside. As we were walking back in, our waitress was coming out with two of our three appetizers, and the owner, who I believe was named Dawn or Donna, was behind her. My friend began explaining that we wanted to move inside because of the bugs. Before she could even finish, the owner interrupted us with an attitude and said, "You ladies can't keep moving from table to table. I have to wash these tablecloths." I was honestly stunned. First, we were not randomly moving ourselves from table to table. Her own employee had offered me the first table while I waited for my friend and then specifically offered to show us other seating once my friend arrived. Second, there wasn't even a tablecloth on the outdoor table we were leaving. When I tried to explain that we had been offered the different seating, the owner responded by pointing out that I had eaten at the first table and now she had to clean that table as well as another one. That response told me everything I needed to know about how our business was valued. As a business owner, if your concern over cleaning a table or washing a tablecloth outweighs making two paying customers feel welcomed and comfortable, you may save a few dollars on laundry, but you can also lose customers permanently. Unfortunately, the food didn't make the experience any better. The vegetable spring rolls and chicken spring rolls were overcooked. The spinach artichoke dip and pita bread were the only items we really enjoyed. We also waited approximately 10-12 minutes just to get ice. We probably should have left after the owner's initial interaction, but we stayed, finished our wine, and graciously paid our bill. What made the experience even more uncomfortable happened as we were leaving. The owner thanked my friend for coming, then looked at me and said, "No hard feelings. I just needed to say what I needed to say." There were hard feelings--not because she addressed a legitimate issue, but because of how she chose to speak to paying customers when the seating changes had been offered by her own staff and the final move was simply because we were being bitten by bugs outside. Customer service matters. Courtesy matters. How you speak to people who choose to spend their money in your establishment matters. Unfortunately, based on the owner's treatment of us, I will not return. What could have been a pleasant evening and an opportunity to gain two repeat customers instead became an experience that ensured we won't be back.

We had a rehearsal dinner cocktail party in the side room here…read more The communication prior to the event with David was super competent and very nice and helpful. Any request I made was answered with " yes, sure". The staff was at the ready to help us drag in and set up our big boxes of favors. The tables were wrapped in white fabric and looked so clean and simple yet festive. The passed around appetizers and stationed appetizers and salads and entrees and desserts were wonderful. Every single thing was delicious. The staff was so attentive and lovely through the night. The bartenders were fast and competent. The drinks were strong! They packed and labeled the left overs for me... that was such a wonderful surprise! I would have any party there and cannot recommend enough!!

We were placed at a really not ideal table despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Right by the door and the bar. It took an exceptionally and noticeably long time to even get water and then our waitress said she'd be back in a "few minutes" to take our order, that ended up being over 20 minutes waiting. When she came back she said did anyone come and take your order yet and we were like ??? The food also took a long time to come out. My dinner mate got the sliders which were supposed to be a special entree and yet the size was more appetizer with literally what looked like a handful of fries thrown haphazardly on the plate. I got the chicken parmigiana which wasn't terrible hence the two stars. However the grilled vegetables that it came with were lukewarm at best by the time they arrived. The energy was off the entire time and we definitely didn't feel welcomed or like we were receiving any kind of hospitality. The bussers who came by to fill our glasses and clear our plates were lovely but that's about it. The waitress disappeared for the rest of our time there other than when we got the check. There was a hostess and another staff member standing at the front and we both individually said thank you to them as we were leaving and they ignored us completely. After reading some of the other reviews, seeing the other patrons and how they were treated compared to us, I can't help but feel like we were being discriminated against (my dinner mate is Black) which is really frustrating and disgusting. I will never be returning. It's a shame that I have to avoid a place like this in my own neighborhood.

For cocktails, I had the lychee pearfection and my husband had a sangria. Drinks were tasty. For our appetizers, we had the philly cheese steak egg rolls and crispy popcorn shrimp. The popcorn shrimp was overly breaded and was our least favorite. I would order the philly cheese steak egg rolls again, very delicious. For my entree, I had the salmon a la plancha and my husband had the grilled skirt steak. Both are amazing dishes and highly recommend. The food was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. For dessert, we had the nutella cake to end our dinner and definitely a standout. Fun and energetic vibes, would definitely come back and try their brunch.

I am very disappointed by my experience at Noma today. What should have been a pleasant visit…read morequickly became uncomfortable and left us feeling unwelcome simply for bringing up basic concerns about cleanliness and respectful service. Shortly after being seated, we noticed a hair in one of our wine glasses. When we brought it to our waitress's attention, she stated that it may have fallen into the glass while she was walking. While we understand that accidents can happen, her response came across as though she was bothered that we had mentioned it. She then told us that Hector would be taking over our table, even though we had only been seated for approximately 10 minutes and she had barely had an opportunity to serve us. Unfortunately, we then noticed that the second wine glass was also visibly dirty and had what appeared to be lip stains on it. When Hector brought us a replacement glass, we showed him the condition of the second glass as well. His immediate response was, "I don't work in the bar," followed by a comment indicating that he did not know what was happening over there. Rather than simply acknowledging the issue and addressing it, his response and tone made us feel as though we were inconveniencing the staff by pointing out something that should have been caught before the glasses reached the table. I have visited Noma numerous times and am familiar with many members of the staff, which made this experience particularly disappointing. My sister-in-law recently held her bridal shower at Noma, and our family has supported this establishment on multiple occasions. We were in the process of deciding whether we felt comfortable staying and ordering food when Hector repeatedly came by asking if we were ready to order. His tone and manner felt increasingly frustrated and aggressive, making us feel as though we were taking up space rather than being valued as customers. We were not asking for anything unreasonable. We simply expected clean glassware, basic courtesy, and to be treated respectfully when bringing a legitimate concern to the staff's attention. Instead, we left feeling uncomfortable and unwanted. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled turned what could have been a simple issue into a very negative and disrespectful experience. Given my previous experiences with Noma and the support my family has shown the establishment, I expected much better.
