So good! Favorite pupuseria in Tampa (cheapest I've found so far too!)

Tried it for my first time yesterday. The pollo en salsa verde bowl was $17 and change. It was…read moregood and flavorful. The employee on staff was very helpful explaining the various topping options. I thought it was a good experience, although a bit expensive for what you receive (pretty much the case for all food at Busch Gardens). I also tried the guava & cheese pastelito (pastry). I would pass on this dessert. It didn't have enough filling spread through the inside of the triangle shaped pastry. Most bites were just dough. All seating is outside and half of that is under the wooden boardwalk where rain pours on you. Not ideal. Final improvement would be a sign indicating whether the restaurant is open since you can't see the window from the Wild Oasis entrance area. And there are no hours posted. When I inquired an employee there said it opened between 10:30 and 11, mainly once the register is setup. Still working on consistency...

I'm pleased to be the first to review the newly unveiled Toma Orang Cafe Latin Restaurant by Sofia…read moreVergara which is a new quick service Latin restaurant at Busch Gardens by Jungala & Wild Oasis. Toma is a very needed addition to supplement the lack of healthy food options at Busch Gardens multiple themed areas. Several themed areas of Busch gardens just do not have any food options at all, let alone healthy food options. Jungala & Wild Oasis was one of the themed areas with no healthy food options and now is no longer void of any healthy food options! At Toma, guests have to get in line, request their bowl or meal, pay at the register, and then find a seat with their food. There is no table service at this quick service restaurant. The Barbacoa Bowl came with Beef barbacoa, cilantro lime rice, black beans, cotija cheese, pickled onions, sweet plantains, creamy cilantro salsa The Pollo En Salsa Verde Bowl came with Chicken in salsa verde, cilantro lime rice, black beans, cotija cheese, roasted corn, guacamole, salsa roja. The Plantas Bowl is a plant based bowl with no meat with Cilantro lime rice, black beans, guacamole, roasted corn, salsa roja, cotija cheese. Toma also serves Empanadas Served with salsa roja With Toty's Beef, French Onion, or Vegan Lentil Toma also serves Croquetas with salsa roja & Chicken croquetas Toma serves sides of Rice, Beans, Sweet Plantains, Pan de Bono Toma serves 2 Desserts including Guava & Cheese Pastelito which is a Traditional pastry of Colombia & Hazelnut Empanadas Toma also serves 4 kinds of milkshakes including Toty's Milkshake, Guava & cheesecake milkshake, Mano's Milkshake, Colada coffee milkshake. Toma loses points for missing any kids menu with kids sized smaller portions. Unfortunately we are forced to order an adult entree for the kids as there are no options for kids here. I hope management can add options for kids in the future as there are a lot of kids at these theme parks that don't need a huge adult size bowl. Toma also loses points for having a very limited menu, missing chips and salsa, queso, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas, burritos, & missing a wide variety of flavored margaritas. I have never been to any Spanish restaurant that is missing chips and salsa or house made hot sauce or different flavored margaritas. If you're in Busch Gardens and craving healthy Latin cuisine, definitely check out Toma as it is the only Latin cuisine in the whole park and one of the few places that doesn't just serve burgers or pizza aside from the smoke house, the dragon theater, and festival booths. I hope Busch Gardens can add more healthy food options in every themed land of the park including at Sesame Street and by the Elephants too. Currently, when we go to the Sesame Street kids area, we have to walk way too far for a good 10+ minutes to the dragon theater get decent healthy food in Busch Gardens. With Toma, we can now walk a little less, but if the kids are not in mood for Latin food, we have to walk much more.
