I have loved Marianos since I lived in Logan Square and visited the Roscoe Village one. It reminded me alot of The Fresh Market I frequented in college (which we also have in Glen Ellyn!). The Lombard location opened a couple months ago and they had freebies for all the Lombardian neighbors! They still send us coupons on things we purchase alot of too! They sampled so much of their products that I am not sure how people didn't get hooked. They have great meats and produce. Sometimes the fruits can be a hit or miss but I think you have to pay attention to what is in season to get the best flavor. All non perishables are the basic ones you can get at your other grocery stores as well as newbies to the market. They have a great little wine bar (you can sip while you shop- most relaxing way to do grocers), they have pizza and subs, a sushi bar, hot and cold bar as well. You can also purchase meats from them and they will cook it whichever way you would like. All the employees I have encountered have been extremely pleasant and helpful. I LOVE that they added the self check out machines recently as well! Make sure to sign up for their rewards card: you will get a free item every friday, coupons you can clip online to use for your grocerise, and rewards when you buy from their hot and cold bars. read more

Decided to try the new Mariano's in Lombard as it is closer to my home than Westchester. It is extremely clean (as it should be) and the selection looks similar to the selection in Westchester. Since I have recently become addicted to Starbucks, that is a welcome addition. Overall, a very good experience, even though the cashiers are new and still slow/learning. The only thing preventing this store from receiving the 5 stars that Westchester had in my previous review was the milk selection. I understand that sometimes expired food sneaks through but most of the milk had sell by dates ranging from tomorrow to 4 days ago. Someone needs to be checking those dates and pulling the expired stuff off the shelves, especially on something that spoils like milk. read more

This Mariano's has changed quite a bit this last year and definitely not for thhe better. Sales have changeD, prices have gone up and the deli is a mess. To top it all off, they now want to charge a 50 cent fee for getting extra cash when using your ATM card at checkout? Who does that in 2020? I ordered thanksgiving diner at marianos. Most of it was not eatable. Ham was good mashed potatoes were ok. Cranberry relish was very bitter went strait to the garbage. Green neon casserole was thrown away also green beans we're raw. It was the biggest waist of money and food. First and last time I ordered from Mariano's. read more

Oh Mariano's, where have you been all my life?? After years of doing minimal grocery shopping at Target or driving over to Caputo's in Downers Grove, we REALLY needed a good (non-Jewel) grocery store in Lombard and we finally got it! Mariano's was pretty chaotic when it first opened, but it has calmed down quite a bit since. I love the full service aspect of the store - they have fresh meals you can buy, and their hot bar and salad bar are a favorite lunch stop for me. They have a Starbucks and a wine bar inside the store, in case you need your favorite vice to help get you through the doldrums of shopping. Their selection is great, and their bakery is tremendous. It is a bit higher-priced than Target on many items, but the Mariano's card and the coupons offered do help if you're able to e-clip those head of time. They also had a great special for transferring prescriptions over to them (not sure if this is still valid) of $50 in free groceries for each prescription transferred. I did knock one star off simply because the past couple times I went, I did encounter more than a few expired items on shelf. However, that could have been just due to the chaos of the holiday season. I will update if this changes! read more

I SO want to LOVE this Marianos grocery store. It is very close to my house and was looking forward to never shopping at Jewel again. On the plus side, it is a gorgeous store and it is a nice place to walk around. But that's sort of where it ends for me. Everything from the salad or hot bar is average or below average. Their bakery items have not been very fresh or all that special. Their deli seems over priced. Prices on other items seemed about the same as Jewel. Jewel might be an ugly store and may not be as pleasurable a shopping experience, but overall, I think their prices are a bit lower, they have a better bakery and deli, and their produce is very comparable. read more

I absolutely love this store. If I had to choose between Mariano's and H-E-B(Texas grocery store) Mariano's would win by a small margin. I'm sure the locals have issues with their stores, but beings I'm an out of towner, I ALWAYS stop when I'm in Lombard. It's the only place I've found milk in a glass jar(I'm sure there's other stores but I don't venture too far from the hotel). It's also the ONLY grocery store that has a bar and lounge in it... I bought food from the hot bar and had entertainment from people playing the piano and singing. In my opinion the meat section is phenomenal. I've never had a bad Experience with them. I love it. The best Mariano's I've been to so far! This one has a Starbucks inside and a gas station outside, which makes it even better!!! Like all Mariano's, it's super clean, the employees are very helpful, and I love that the wine bar is in the dining area. I found out last night that pizza is $1 per slice after 8pm. You can't go wrong with that!! The only problem I have is that it's a little difficult to leave the parking lot. The intersection it's near is very busy and there are no lights so you are sitting there for quite a bit. read more

Some advice to the readers, if the person giving you a one star review says you are rude, but then has their user picture that says "b1tch please, like I care" just ignore everything they say, because it's probably them, and not the business. I have never had a problem at this Marianos and there are plenty of people of all colors working there. Sure they may have a rude person here or there, welcome to our current society that thinks that is cool! But maybe if someone doesn't treat you great, it's not because they are racist, it may be because of you! read more

Run screaming. The store director, Scott H, was the only saving grace at this location. He just had his last day there. TERRIBLE customer service. Expired items like crazy, basically every other item I picked up. Why is Kroger allowing their upscale brand, Mariano's, to flounder? If they hired decent people and trained them well, it has amazing potential. The level of dissatisfaction I have with this store is beyond the pale. read more

This place rocked the first months in was open. Now it just sucks. Maybe even worse than Jewel. They are always out of items - produce, boxed good, you name it. Rarely did I leave here with everything on my list. I'm talking about bananas being out or oranges, that sort of thing. Always the same excuse, they blame their supplier. It's always their fault. Then the customer service sort of sucks. I used the clicklist about 5 times, 4 of those times I was missing an item and was still charged for it. As well hearing the conversations the workers have while checking out is just inappropriate or maybe eye opening. Can we please do something about the sub-par customer service. In the last few months whenever I'm at the checkout (about once a week) all I hear are check out people yelling back and forth about when they get their break and that they want to go home. Meanwhile, I don't get any eye contact or even a smile to acknowledge I'm alive. Like did I suddenly become a ghost and you can't see me?Sometimes I can't believe how rude they are. Maybe it has something to do with company culture since it was sold, but I've definitely noticed a difference in employee culture... and not for the better. I arrived around 8:30 after work in the hopes of getting a smoothie and some food from the salad bar. Thinking that they closed at 10pm they should still be serving prepared foods. Unfortunately everything was completely put away, even the soup and the bakery cases. I thought I'd have some luck with a smoothie at least. When I approached the smoothie bar I again was disappointed, the girl working it said "sorry I cleaned everything already" I asked her when the smoothie bar closed so next time I get off work I will know if I can still grab a smoothie. She started frantically looking for the time. I said, "I didn't ask what time it was now, I asked when the smoothie bar closes." She said 9pm. It was 8:30. While wandering around trying to find something for dinner, I was greeted by Mark, in the deli. He was super nice and hooked me up with a pre made meal. He had excellent customer service and was genuinely friendly. He is the ONLY reason I'm giving three stars. He deserves 5 stars by himself. Finally, at the register I waited in line for 15 min behind one person because the FOUR teenagers working the register couldn't find the kale in the computer. Has no one ever purchased kale before? They made jokes to each other barely acknowledging the customer ahead of me and myself. They eventually gave away the kale for free because it "didn't come out of their paycheck" We left without an entire bag because they didn't give it to us. As we were waiting to check out I saw one kid locked his friend in the electrical closet and was laughing hysterically. While I enjoy a good laugh, I also work in customer service and I would be completely horrified if any of my customers witnessed this debauchery. read more

By far the grossest looking deli counter EVER if I did not leave my phone in the car I would have taken pictures of the glass which looked like they were smearing meat all over it all day long. I have ordered click list multiple times for pick up and every single visit for the past several pick ups I have items missing. Poor customer service!!!! I spoke with a manager that lacked empathy and honestly represented the store terribly. Don't have a pick up service if you can't run it well. If I could do zero stars I would. I was an avid Mariano's shopper! It is convenient and wonderful to have a large grocer right in your town. But after finding worms in my pork belly and the customer service said to bring it in (it's a pandemic and I barely leave the house rn) and then I was stopped and yelled at by an employee out to get carts. She made a scene yelling I am a bad mother with no socks on my baby?! I have a toddler and a baby and it was 50+ degrees out. I'm trying to get in and out of a grocery store as fast as possible anyways nowadays. But she made a scene and gathering by yelling at me in the entrance of how I need to better mother my children, then followed me into the fresh produce section approaching me AGAIN to continue to say how I need to be a better mom. I am heartbroken and will not be returning as a customer to this Mariano's. Mostly because of worms/parasites in my pork belly but also being accosted by an employee was too much. read more

Went to the pharmacy this am. It was closed. Talked to the store manager. She told me the pharmacist called in sick and she was trying to find a replacement. Could not give me a time to come back. Unacceptable. People need their medicine. There should be 2 pharmacist so this doesn't happen. I will be pulling my prescriptions from them. read more

I went for a quick trip and got checked out by a young guy that goes by the name Chad Or Chase. He was RUDE. I heard him greet the person ahead of me but when it was my turn he said nothing but kept a conversation up with lady that was behind me. He then gave me my change without looking at me and then proceeding to have a convo. No thank you, no courtesy. Maybe it was because I was black. This isn't the only time this happened. This place is know for being racist towards blacks. A few years back a guy checking my friend out called her the N word because she said she shorted her on her change. He got fired but I still see that they have a few more rotten apples. I'll continue to spend my at JEWELS. read more

Disrespectful and they just throw your selected items in the bag and cart. I literally went off on a bagger for just tossing my items. Almost every time I go to Mariano's in Lombard, at least one clipped digital coupon will not come up. The supervisors and manager always give me grief when trying to get a clipped coupon honored. For a reason I do not understand, my iPhone always gets "access denied" when trying to access Mariano's website. That is why I always clip my coupons from my computer. On my phone, I have tried both Chrome and Safari with no success. And of course, unless I can pull it up on my phone, they will not honor a clipped coupon. Say what you want about Jewel-Osco, but they always honor their coupons. So usually I can expect the best clipped coupon to not be honored. One time a manager (I was unable to get her name, but she is an African American woman, middle aged, long dark hair with glasses) was literally accusing me of lying and not clipping the coupon. What a great way to treat a customer! For a high-end grocery store, the customer service at Mariano's is pretty abysmal, at least from the management staff. read more

First time receiving rude service at a Mariano's. I went to the self-check out and indicated to the checkout person that I had a question. I waited for a minute, she came by and said "What!". She then pushed some buttons, walked away before I could say anything, then complained about it to another customer. I let Customer Service know, who told me "Thank you for letting us know". Deli service was sooooo slow....had to give my order at three different times for them to get it done...Cashiers were working on broken registers....employee do not know what is going on in the store....was told three different answers to questions and still wasn't right......in and out driving is really bad......I live in Lombard but I will continue to use the Marianos in Elmhurst.... I do love this Mariano's but I am on here bc I bought pork belly for tacos from here and when I cooked it WORMS came out of the meat. I called and they had zero response and just kept repeating 'no one else has said this' and then asked me to bring the meat in.... which I obviously said no...... apparently this is how they handle complaints of old/bad product. Terrible customer service. I have had interactions with them before over prices ringing up incorrectly and they were slow, but today takes the cake. I left a couple of steaks in my cart in the parking lot. I called from home to ask if , maybe, someone had turned them in..16 minutes on hold, explained my story twice, then the line went dead. I called back and told my story again, I was put on hold for 3 seconds then given a very short answer of "No, sorry"...I realize it was a long shot but I feel the customer service , as far as checking into this , was terrible. I was SO excited to see that there was a Mariano's being built in Lombard! Since the Wheaton one was built, it has become my favorite place to buy groceries. Their gluten free food selection is phenomenal, the international food section has an incredible variety, and their Larabars are the best price in the area. So glad I don't have to drive all the way out to Wheaton or Westchester to shop Mariano's! read more

Love this new store, I had gone to the one in Wheaton and really didn't like it but this one is amazing plus now I don't have to go to that awful Jewel on Main St. The store is so clean and the staff is great, prices are pretty good and I love the sample and sales that they have. Don't go past 830 pm!! They are cleaning everything up and everyone was in hurry to get out. The grill in the meat department was getting cleaned at 830 (supposed to be open till 9). The soups were all gone which I guess makes sense. In fact I get that everyone wants to get home to their families but there's got to be a better way. On a better note the store was very clean. read more
