Breakfast goodness... served until shortly after 1pm eastern standard time.

Outstanding flavor and service. These bagels are made from scratch by the owner, Dustin, right in front of you and they couldn't be more tasty. The shop has inside seating, sells Disc Golf discs on the side, and has convenient street parking right out front. I'm having a shoe repaired just a few steps away from here and came on a word-of-mouth suggestion. Glad I did. Try the smoked salmon bagel.

Traveling through Barre, VT and looking for a sandwich to go. Found Maria's Bagels on Yelp. Cozy interior. Very pleasant young'uns running the counter. Interesting choice of beverages. We got the Three Pigs sandwich: bagel of your choice with two fried eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese. Served up by a pleasant little guy who brought them out from the kitchen, most definitely with pride in his creation. He handed them to us with a big smile. We ate them in the car on our travels. Come on! The combined tastes were fabulous! Plenty of tasty oils intermingling from the meats and the cheese. One of best combos I have ever have. Very well done, Maria's!

Small coffee and an everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese

Great place. Lots to chose from and even gluten freee bagels are there. I ordered an wvwrything gluten free bagel toasted and itt was so good- moist chewy in the good bagel way and so not dry. My partner got a as she calls it gluten full bagel with egg cheese and bacon! Nice shOp, friendly service

This place just opened up and it's a great addition to the downtown. Great breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They also have some really good soups. They make all of their bagels in house and you can watch them through a window.

Nothing special about the sesame bagels. Bland coffee. Owner was really nice. Kudos for trying.

Very rude owner, inside to small. Foods mediocre, glad there is other places local. Not wasting money here, or my time. You shouldn't either

I know it was that long because the limit on the parking meters is two hours and I moved from one in the front to one in the back. Inside, comfortable seating and a fantastic coffee. I started off with a simple cortado that was excellent. Just the right mix of coffee and steamed (not foamed!) milk. The second drip coffee was also rich and delicious. Great service, a neat little hangout here in Barre that was excellent for working on my laptop. Five stars! [Review 1665 of 2024 - 153 in Vermont - 22688 overall]

The service is always friendly and efficient, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends, getting a bit of work done, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a good drink. There's a genuine local charm here that sets it apart from your typical coffee shop. My usual order is the Chai Tea Latte - their house-made chai sweetened with maple syrup and steamed with oat milk. It's rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. On warmer days, I will switch it up with the Bueno Smoothie, which is just as delicious and refreshing. I often pair my drink with one of their fresh pastries. usually a scone and it always hits the spot. The food is thoughtfully prepared, and the menu offers a great variety of light meals and snacks that cater to different dietary preferences. Espresso Bueno has a way of making you feel like part of the community, and I always look forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!

Yesterday was the perfect opportunity to go, as I often times am in Barre when they are closed. I had the soup of the day, a Tonkatsu Pork Ramen described as a "rich pork broth, porchetta, wild mushrooms, fresh ramen." He'd asked me if I wanted a soy egg, which I should have asked what that was; I assume it was a fake egg versus an egg infused with soy sauce (next time, I will inquire), so I politely declined. It was a copious bowl of rich flavor: the porchetta was outstanding. The broth itself lacked a little flavor, initially, as I think I needed to mix the seasonings more. Once I did, YUM! My friend got the The Granite City, which is house maple-bourbon turkey, cheddar, cranberry mayo, LTO on cranberry pecan whole wheat. He asked if he could have it toasted (it was so chilly outside and we'd skied all morning) and Stefano said they don't normally do so, but sure, why not. My friend said it was delicious. Stefano later told us that he hadn't thought about toasting it before, as no one had ever asked, but he bet it was good. He was also really nice; he sells the Maple Sap Soda that I cannot find elsewhere and he was willing to sell us a six-pack. I considered it and then kind of forgot. I was tired from the cold and skiing. The food is great and the cafe is toasty and warm. I highly recommend.

Diane, John, and their crew of dedicated employees, opened this restaurant in the summer of 2020, in the middle of an international pandemic, and still managed to rise to the top as a fantastic, family-oriented, slow food restaurant in a small town with several well established restaurants as its base. Their idea was grounded in the "simple" grilled cheese sandwich, reimagined in some delightfully tasty presentations. The menu is modest and, other than seasonal specials, is steadfast in its design! I have eaten there more times than I can count and have YET to experience any deviation from the quality they presented at the outset! How many restaurants can attest to that, alone? The atmosphere is homey (it is a former home in a lovely neighborhood), the service is top-notch and the food is delicious. The management attends to every table at least once during your stay (so there was ample opportunity for this customer to express any concerns to the person in the best position to correct any issues), and the staff consists of community members who are our friends, neighbors, or children thereof. So special is this space, the youth servers appear every spring in their prom-best to have their pictures taken with Diane and John! How special is that???!!!! This is a team that places community at the center of their work: even facilitating massive community fundraising efforts post-flood, 2024 and 2025! If you live in this area, you already know what a gem this place is. If you are visiting, put a night out (or lunch) on your "must do" list while exploring Barre's rich granite industry history. If you haven't made Barre a stop on your journey, run, don't walk and see what the buzz is all about! See you at The Meltdown!
