Breakfast. Best blueberry pancakes. I keep thinking about these and hope to get back to VT to have them again.

These blueberry pancakes were absolutely amazing! I keep thinking about them and hope to get back to VT to have them again. Cozy. Friendly crew.

i went here on a sunday around 12:45; there was a pleasant amount of people. not too crowded. this restaurant is counter service, so you place your order at the counter and they bring it out. you are responsible for getting your own water and stuff. the outdoor seating is really nice and there was a water jug outside as well as in. very thoughtful setup. the service was nice and it was refreshing not to be talked to during the meal. keep in mind this restaurant applies an automatic 16% gratuity, so it's not necessary to tip (but is appreciated). the food: they were out of the french toast and had no biscuits so i opted for chocolate chip pancakes with a side of home fries. the pancakes were as expected; fluffy and cooked well. i would've liked more butter but that's an easy fix. they give you a pitcher of syrup instead of a little container which was much appreciated. the home fries were some of the best i've had in a long time; crispy and well seasoned. my date liked the western omelette a lot, and the bread was clearly house made (as described) and fluffy.

Lovely breakfast spot. Order inside and your meal is delivered to you outside. There is inside seating, as well. My sister had a cold brew that she really liked-was able to get a sip before ordering. I had an Omelette and fruit cup-very good. My sister had a Bennie that she really liked. Highly recommended.

Check out $7.00+ of service charge/room fees??? Is this even legal

Fees added are insane for food ordered at a counter. I had to get up and get a coffee refill myself. No service except a walk across the room with food . Food took forever and it was pretty much empty. Omelets were small for the price. Seems like the only breakfast location in town so I guess if you are hungry it's take it or leave it.

Food was delicious. They make their own gluten free bread! That's hard to find anywhere. Great Eggs Benne too!

If I'm back in Sugarbush, will be a go to. Not a huge space inside but cozy, food came out fast, and all dee-lish. Friendly, helpful staff.

They have great nitro cold brew here, I also tried the burrito and was a big fan of the salsa they use on it.

Made with love, the donuts are hand-crafted from organic flour nearby in Charlotte, VT. My wife and I enjoy the churro donuts, which are an amazing treat. The donut is the inspiration for the business name. It's a French crueler donut twisted into a textured halo (see pic), expertly fried and then lightly dusted with cinnamon and sugar. The first bite is heavenly. The crisp texture of the exterior and the light custard interior make for one of the most flavorful and euphoria inducing experiences. The light strands of the interior dough and the texture of the crisp fried exterior are a wonderful mouth-feel and "Mmmmm" inducing delight. The selection from behind the barista bar is more than just coffee. Selections range from espresso, to latte, to chai, as well as herbal teas for the "not coffee" inclined. I ordered an Americano (see pic), which Tay prepared with perfection. I added a shot of maple syrup for sweetness and sipped in satisfaction. The interior is still in need of decoration but for an opening day, that in no way detracts from the experience. The fanbase is strong with Twisted Halo. They sold out within the first hour and continued to bake to keep up with demand. It was great to see friends connecting with friends as they arrived, conversed, and parted ways, making this the ultimate social spot for a morning or post lunch coffee and donut. I would highly recommend a visit and to take a moment to savor the flavors of Twisted Halo.

Family of 5 visiting on vacation...return visitors…read more All of the breakfast food was very well prepared and had great taste. The Sugar & Spice pancakes are always a must have for my son. I had an omelet off of the Specials menu with Pineapple, ham and mozzarella...Basically a Hawaiian Pizza but in an omelet. Very good, if you like Hawaiian Pizza. The home fries didn't have much color to them but we're actually cooked through and tasted good With a nice texture. The only draw back was our server, while efficient, had like in the way of people skills. Every interaction was as short as possible. Not bad, just not good. Lots of items to shop for if you are a tourist.

We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.

Also, just FYI, most of the restaurants in town are closed Mondays, Tuesdays and some on Wednesdays as well. Or the deli is open till 7pm but you can't order sandwiches past 2pm. ‍ We were only in the area for a day but weird closing times or days were highly prevalent. But I digress, Mad River Inn has lush gardens and thoughtful landscaping throughout the expansive property. It seems like a wonderful place to hold a rustic themed wedding as they have an outdoor chapel with seating and a dedicated indoor hall. The inn, tap room and restaurant are all very tastefully decorated in modern farmhouse style, with a lot of greige (gray-beige) paint that was very popular a while ago. Thoughtful touches are every where. Our check in person was very nice and helpful. We loved our room for our family of three where we could spread out and not be all in the same room all the time. The twin beds were wonderfully soft (my personal favorite) but the queen bed was definitely not as lush. I slept in one of the four twin beds as my husband snores. The bedding was soft and inviting. AC was great as it was a very hot humid day/night. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was next level good served by a very friendly, very accommodating chef. Homemade granola, breads, bagels, pastries etc but also a cooked to order breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. Juice coffee etc of course as well. So I would actually give this place 5 stars but took off some for not having a dining room open for guests every day and the fact that our whole family mentioned the constant low level banging noise we heard below us as we were all trying to sleep. As there were no guest rooms below us we surmised that it was probably a washer and dryer making the noises. Husband said an easy fix to this is an arrester on the dryer that can be added to lessen the banging. Or skip doing laundry past 10pm. Still would highly recommend. Wish we could have tried the restaurant for dinner.

More akin to a breakfast panini, the gooey fluffy egg and cheese, crunchy bacon, and bright onions were perfectly supported by two slices of crunchy, crusty toasted sourdough. Such great flavor! It's always been busy when I've gone, but wait times aren't very long and the staff is pleasant. Needless to say, I got home and inhaled my turkey on a baguette. The only thing I think is a little bit of a bummer is the lack of more "traditional" topping options. I like my sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The cafe does not offer tomatoes and only has pickled onions. Would be nice to have a little more choice when building your own sandwich. That said, I'm still a big fan and would get food from there again in a heartbeat.
