Monday, 9/30/24 Review #498 "Where everybody knows, your name...And they're always glad you came!" This is another Local diner for Breakfast and Lunch in Almont called Maria's Place. My niece is a local in Almont and while visiting her for the day back in November 2023, she treated Me to a delicious and plentiful lunch here inside Maria's Place at 141 S. Main Street in downtown Almont. No street parking therefore park in back and use their convenient back door. The deco inside is old fashioned so check out the views all the way around. This restaurant is certainly a family place of traditional dining serving large portions too. The Menus are designed with Big Appetites in mind, so enjoy and clean your plate or take the rest home. The staff truly enjoy their jobs as they smile! Create Your Own Omelet with 3 eggs, 12" wrap sandwiches, appetizers, salads, grilled sandwiches, Homemade Soups and Chili, Breakfast Bowls, Big Burgers with .99 add on. Crazy Big Burgers come with fries. Kid's Menu has several options that My Great Nephew enjoyed too plus his chocolate milk. :-) And a coloring book with crayons to use. Check out Today's Special Board & Dessert Board too for an example from the photo I posted. Maria's Place serves Special Large Meals. So eat lunch as a dinner meal since their dining hours are 7 AM - 2 PM, Monday through Sunday. I enjoyed My visit with the local efficient and fast employees and the Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and a Chicken Salad Croissant that was loaded with fresh chunks of chicken meat. The place has a outstanding atmosphere, hard working staff with a passion, and delicious lunch. I still need to get back here and enjoy their famous and stuffed omelets! One of the best small town breakfast places around. I've been coming to Maria's for years and the food and service are consistently excellent. I got a veggie omelette made with egg whites and it was stuffed full of a variety of vegetables and Swiss cheese. I got tomato slices instead of the hashbrowns and rye toast. My friend got a western omelette and he was able to substitute his hashbrowns for a side of applesauce. We both enjoyed our breakfast and will continue to come to Maria's when passing thru Almont read more

Great food. Was happy to see there menu on Yelp. Omelette was great and French toast was fantastic.

An OLD fashioned style diner. Right in middle of tiny downtown almont. Went with mini chili omelette- with raw onions. Tasted great. Biscuit was really good also. Service was excellent! Easily a early 1900 hundreds building. Apparently the owner cooks on Thursdays- spaghetti was today's special and though it was before 11 am quite a few plates of it were coming out of the kitchen. This has been a long time favorite of ours and now that we live closer we can come here more often. We normally get breakfast and it's always hot and delicious. The servers are always polite and very attentive. The decor is quaint and cozy. I would highly recommend a visit to Maria's. read more

Great breakfasts! Best place in town to eat. They are usually busy on the weekends but we've never had to wait for a table.

I pass this place everyday on my way to work, first time stopping in they have a very cozy area to eat your food. Almost like eating at home! Service was very fast and the menu was exactly what i was lookinh for. I ordered thw Chet sandwich (eggs with ham and cheese on Texas toast) & half order of blueberry pancakes. Out traveling this morning, we came across this restaurant. We sat in a very private booth, where we read a posted article on the former owner, which was interesting and served to fill the time between ordering and eating. The food was hot with generous portions, and the prices were 40% less than what we pay at home. The seating was slightly uncomfortable, but the small-town charm and morning smiles were present. The staff seemed to enjoy working there and the dining area was filled with happy customers. On the way out we were laughing about their entrance from the back parking lot. It is in a very tight space between two buildings. The large and lovable customers may want to enter through their front entrance. A customer we met on the way out said the side aisle made her think of a lean-to. I likened it to one of those "Mystery Spots" where you know the floor you are walking on is not flat. I have been going to Maria's for 23 years and there isnt a better place to go in town for Brackfast or Lunch. Ask for there one of a kind burgers. I grade them by how many napkin I have to use 6 is a good number. read more

We had breakfast here and it was good. I had the meat lovers omelette with texas toast. It arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. Had a lot of meat in it, good portions. My daughter got a grilled cheese and fries which she enjoyed. read more

Horrible can't even to describe this place. First place my order five time to get it wrong. Than made a new sandwich to leave fries under a heat lamp taste like crap than messed the new sandwitch up. Service don't care and don't even know how the food is surpossed to look. This is beyond one of the worst places to eat let alone bring your family for a meal. Better of get mcdonalds atleast they won't mess it up and if they do they will fix it and do everything they can to make it right. Worst place ever. read more
