Bold, smooth coffee served in a cute cup and saucer
    Kelly S.

Situated in the old Big Boy building, this restaurant is a vast improvement to the local eatery scene for this small town. The food is excellent, if not a bit pricey. The selection for eating is massive where you can order Benedict's to full dinner portioned meals. The best coffee I've ever had served in attractive cups with a dish. I've yet to enjoy a glass of wine with my meal (been here a few times) but that's only because they close at 3pm! They are apparently short-staffed, which is a very big shame as the alcohol with a meal drives up the profits considerably. There is plenty of parking spaces as well as plenty of dining room inside. The inside is very clean, including the restroom. The servers seem a bit harried yet they are pleasant and efficient. I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner. The food is fresh and delicious. If you are anywhere near this area of 31 mile and old Van Dyke in Washington Township, MI - make a point to stop in and have an excellent meal...before 3pm

Huge portions, kind waitstaff, and reasonable prices. Stumbled upon this gem because the Pantry down the street was closed during their regular business hours. Took my mom her for breakfast. She got the chunky monkey pancakes and I got the monte cristo. Both were huge and delicious. Will definitely be making this our new breakfast spot, and probably won't go back to the Pantry, since Crave has all the special morning treats that you can find at the Pantry. Hello new breakfast place.

SO MUCH FOOD! The portions are HEALTHY! the price matches the good amount perfectly. The service was amazing and the front desk gentlemen was polite and helpful. Would highly recommend. They were swamped and still made each table feel served. Amazing home fries, sooo good! The French toast was mouthwatering with the graham cracker crust. The hot coco was perfect! **iced tea was ehh, had an off taste.

OMG, this restaurant is awesome!! Went there for breakfast, my husband & I got their FARMERS OMELET. They even asked if you want pancakes or toast The food was absolutely amazing!! The waitress WAS SPOT ON! Efficient, friendly, never had to flag her down for nothing !!!! Enough can't be said... the team work there is great! Ya all !!!! Should try this place out!! HANDS DOWN They are only open till 3 PM. BUT we'll soon have to go in to try an early dinner, but that's ok

The Slim with the salad towering over it.

Very good, seems to be the choice for older ladies. I think I was the only guy in the place and certainly the youngest customer (at 60).. I had a Slim (their version of the slim Jim) that was very good and a Cobb salad that was as good as it was HUGE. Ate half the Sammy and half the salad. Nice deco, looks like it may have been a fast food place at one point. The main entrance is at the back of the building. Service was spot on, didn't wait for anything. Now I did not see they had soup anywhere on the menu but they do so you may have to ask.

    Brunch cocktails!

We were in the mood for mother's day brunch because, well, I'm always in the mood for brunch so any chance I get I will take advantage of! It was surprising to see that not many places were allowing reservations on mother's day. I would have thought it would be encouraged! But we took our chances and came back to check this place out again. When we walked up, we could tell it was going to be a wait. There were people outside waiting. We put our names in and were not told how long the wait would be. Apparently some people were hanging out for quite a while. The place was busy but there were also several empty tables. There was the sign that we saw the last time we tried to come saying that they were short staffed. Same story everywhere. So we just decided to wait it out. It only ended up being about 20 min so not bad at all! The hostess was super friendly and you could tell the regulars loved her. Her sister also worked there so I'm guessing this is a family affair. The restaurant is on the small side. But cheerfully decorated and I loved how the staff were all in crisp white tops and black pants/skirt. Gave it a high class look. We were seated and gave our drink orders. I was excited to get an Irish coffee. As I had not had my coffee yet. My son got a Pepsi. I have been working hard and have lost about 15 pounds. I still have 10 to go but I was not about to diet today! I ordered the chunky Monkey and oh lordy! So delicious! The serving was so big I only ate about an 1/8 of it! My son chose the ham and cheese omelette and hash browns. Pretty boring but delicious! The ham was chunky and perfectly browned. My son is a big eater but could only manage half his omelette so it that tells you a lot. I was very pleased to see Bellinis ok the cocktail list. Bellinis have quickly become my favorite breakfast cocktail beating out the old faithful mimosa. I can now see why this place is always so busy. The food is magnificent and the service (although a little on the slow side) was a joy. I will most definitely be back!!

Delicious food, have been here several times, new to the area. Soups are great, food hot and fresh.

    Strawberry chicken salad
    Tricia C.

Back to one of my favorite places but this time I got a salad but no just any salad....the strawberry chicken salad! I replaced the blue cheese with feta ( they are so accommodating) I broke out in laughter when they brought it to my table. The picture does not do it justice! This salad was huge!! I immediately asked for a to go box and took more than half and put it in the box. It also came with warm fluffy pita triangles. You will not be disappointed if you order this just know it's enough to share!

Beautiful restaurant, very modern and clean. The menu has anything you could want for breakfast or brunch. The farmers omelette is full of veggies and sausage. I got it with the sausage gravy, but I would probably skip it next time. It didn't really add to the overall taste. You have to pay a bit extra to add cheese. The bacon was really good! My partner in crime got Mickey Mouse chocolate chip pancakes but went crazy and added marshmallows as well. I wish I was five again. The pancake was ok, it had kind of a "healthy" aftertaste and that's not my favorite. Overall, a solid 4/5; looking forward to coming back and trying something new.

This restaurant is located in the building where the old Big Boy restaurant was for many years. It briefly became the Washington Grill, which was a disaster, then finally Crave took over. There is a full bar and the restaurant has been remodeled inside and out. They actually have two full menus - one for breakfast and the other covers lunch and dinner. There are so many choices and every time I've been here everyone, including myself, really enjoys their food. This time I ordered the vegetarian omelette made with egg whites. I had the choice of potato's, grits, fruit salad or sliced tomatoes and it comes with toast. My friend got the country fried steak with gravy and potatoes. We both enjoyed our food. My only complaint would be how long it took for the food to come out. The waitress kept apologizing saying that they had just received a very large order. I understand it wasn't her fault but it made us late for an event we were going to. I won't hold that against them since the food is normally pretty quick. The portions are very generous and the food quality is always good. I will definitely be back here again.

    Great breakfast
    Lori G.

Absolutely the best place to get breakfast in the area. Portions are fantastic and so is the quality of the food. This is my got to restaurant for a fantastic breakfast meal.

    Kristin C.

Ugh it kills me to write a bad review. The food was very good minus my husband saying his chorizo burrito was on the greasy side. And the potatoes weren't good. My egg white omelette was great! Crepes were hot...we thought they were supposed to be cold but not sure? The issue was the service. We waited 10 minutes before I actually got up to go and find someone to even come to the table to greet us! Even then we waited an additional 5 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us because she felt bad that the waitress in our section was eating in the back! And that lady went over to the table that got sat 10 min after us and waited on them first! Are you kidding me?! So this other waitress took us. The food took 40 minutes. For brunch...come on. That's bad. The Bloody Mary I had was really good but ya Gotta get better with your service...no one wants to wait an hour for their food.

The food and service was impeccable. I would recommend checking this place out to support your local business and enjoy a great experience. The picture show what we had for breakfast and the food was awesome.

Here is the lay of the land: Check in at the little red table in the center of the outdoor courtyard if you want "full service". - which means eating and drinking at a table with wait staff. It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

There is definitely too much to talk about here so be sure to look at my pics as I've provided a quick summary in the captions. J Baldwin's famous calamari. After receiving the dish, I think I've had it before at J Baldwin's in Clinton Twp. The calamari is not your typical calamari and is sauced with his Beurre Blanc famed on the Food Network. While it's still breaded, the Beurre Blanc is enough to soften it completely while adding an explosion of flavor. The Beurre Blanc is made with olive oil, shallots, peppercorns, bay leaves, lemon juice, wine, and cream. Personally I think this dish was way too sauce heavy. There wasn't a single crispy bite. While flavorful, I was looking forward to a light and crispy texture, but didn't get it. I think this could have been accomplished with going lighter in the sauce, maybe just drizzling it on, and providing a serving of it on the side. 3,5 stars. Truffle Sausage Pizza. Tradition hand tossed dough that's not too thick and not too thin. Italian sausage, truffle oil, parsley, Gouda, Mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. The Italian sausage was not what I expected. Rather than slices or tiny meatballs, it was ground up. I kinda liked it to tell you the truth, but it wasn't evenly applied. It was more densely populated in the center, which left the perimeter sparse with toppings. While the truffle oil sounded good, it didn't work for me. Here's the thing you need to know about truffle oil, it's not made from truffles (mushrooms)! That's right, truffle oil is typically made from extract, which is why the flavor is so intense and a little goes a long way. Local Carbonara Bucatini. Made the traditional way with cuts of pork cheek (guanciale). The bucatini pasta was nicely done and not overcooked. The guanciale was also nice and crispy as it should be. It was lighter on the cheese than I would have liked and none was served on the side, but it was Pecorino Romano and it was shaved from a block. Did I ask for more on the side, of course I did! The black pepper wasn't also as prominent as it should have been, but the server did have some fresh ground at the ready when it was served. 4 stars. Overall, I would have to say that I'm still a fan of J. Baldwin's Testa Barra. The food is prepared fresh with quality ingredients, and the dishes are inspirationally classic, and sometimes with innovating or modern twist. I've consistently never been disappointed with every visit. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

The brunch menu has a good variety and I opted for the Avocado Croast (the "toast" was a croissant) and a drip coffee. Beware that the drip coffee gets only one free refill. I asked during ordering because there are some places that don't give any free refills. Hubby ordered the Huevos Rancheros served in a bowl. The food came out beautifully and was very fresh. If I wanted to nitpick, I'd say they are keeping the roasted potatoes in a steamer which is making their crispy outer layer somewhat soggy but they still tasted good. They should revisit how they are keeping them warm or crisp them quickly before serving. The avocado toast didn't have a lot of avocado but it was still good. They should consider adding some sea salt to top it off - it would enhance the overall flavor. The service was good - I think our server wasn't comfortable in this job. That was okay for us as she warmed up to us after a while. All in all, a nice experience for our first time there. I'd like to return to try other menu items in the future.
