We hired Maribelle Cakery about 2 weeks prior to our wedding because our previous vendor cancelled on us. They were so amazing to work with! We had some greenery and lemons added to the cake and they worked with my florist to make sure it turned out the way that I wanted it to. They nailed it! The flavors were absolutely amazing and pretty unique. We ended up with an orange flavor for one of the layers! I emailed and called back and forth with the owner for multiple days to make sure we had an understanding on how I wanted my cake to look. She assured me that the cake would be gold like my Inspo picture but gold ( which is what I wanted ). But instead the day of my 21st birthday my mother picked up my cake and brought it to me and it looked like this black with glitter all over it. I called her shop multiple times that day and days following after my birthday for a refund or even a partial refund to be fair even though it looked nothing like I wanted it to. There was no reply or call back after leaving countless voicemails. And they have yet to reach out to me about any time of refund of my order. I hope this helps people to know what you're signing up for as I was from a different state spending my 21st birthday in Cincinnati and was blindsided by the outcome of my birthday cake. read more

I had a very specific request for a cake for my dad's 80th birthday. It turned out so much better than I could have imagined. Everyone was in awe of the overall cuteness and detail of the cake. We almost didn't want to cut into it. However, when we did, we were equally impressed by the taste of the cake. We got the white chocolate mocha with raspberry, and it was to die for. From the time that I placed my first call to them til the time we finished the cake, everything was excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my dad. Maribelle catered our wedding, a cake with different flavored layers was a nice touch. Plus additional gourmet cupcakes in less popular flavors. If you get your wedding cake here you can order an anniversary cake very reasonable. We've also ordered here for a grooms cake, for birthdays and other celebrations. Cake lacked flavor and contact at cakery told me they all think it is ok. What ever happened to listening to customer versus making excuses! The biggest issue is I paid for a DECORATED cake for my daughter's wedding shower and this is what I got! I ordered a 30th Anniversary Cake for my parents but I couldn't go in anywhere because I live out of state. I Made a bunch of email inquiries to a ton of places and Maribelle Cakery was the only one who put my mind at ease that they could do exactly what I was asking for even though they didn't have an example to send me. They spoke to me over email and phone and they were great. The cake turned out amazing my parents loved the presentation but also said the cake was so moist and the buttercream was amazing. My time going to this bakery was not pleasant. I walked in and no employees were wearing masks. I wasn't greeted at the door and was standing, waiting to be serviced for more than 5 mins. I could hear people arguing in the back, and then one woman came to help me. However, the woman who was helping me reeked of alcohol. Overall, the cake was beautiful, the taste was sub-par. I knew 2 things immediately after I was engaged- I wanted a white wedding and Maribelle to do my cake! I'd commissioned them on several occasions- my now husband's 22nd Birthday, My Pastor's Anniversary, and my brother's Groom's cake- and they have always been more than accommodating. Tina, Larry and Seth allowed my creative vision to coincide with their baking expertise, and for that I will be forever grateful! Went in for a tasting for my wedding reception and it was the most unorganized experience. The woman who ran the tasting had left a sign on the door to be back at 130pm (the time I had scheduled for our tasting) and it was apparent that she had just barely shown up to the bakery in time because she had not turned on the heat and had just walked in the back door. It was freezing cold and dark in the bakery and it took her over 30 minutes just to gather the cake for us to taste. When i asked for pricing information, she could only find a menu that had been drawn all over by someone's child. I was mortified to have invited my soon to be mother-in-law to this experience. The cake was great but sadly I wouldn't trust a place that was so unorganized for my wedding or any important event. read more

Awful customer service. I've been dealing with a manager on an issue for over a month with no attempts from the owner to intervene and resolve the situation. I placed a sizable order that was never delivered on the day of my event, but no one ever told me that i was supposed to pick up such order. The business had an incorrect phone number and was unable to reach me the day of (although they had been contacting me via emails previously with no problems ) so my cake just sat in their bakery for days. No apologies, no refund. Just blaming me and becoming very negative and rude after several phone calls and emails. I toggled back and forth between three stars and four stars. While I have heard wonderful things about this bakery, the cake did not show up for our daughter's wedding. There were many factors that went into this - and not all of them the fault of Maribelle's. It is a very long story - misread handwriting, venue lack of timely follow-up, Maribelle not giving our daughter a cell phone number in case of emergency - this comedy of errors is too long to get into on this review. For the lack of cake, I should have given them one star - or zero. However, it is what happened after the wedding day that made me decide to give them four stars. Maribelle's was mortified and very upset about this. They were very apologetic and remorseful. We received a full refund as well as an offer to make this unfortunate incident up to my daughter and her husband. Angela at Maribelle's is to be commended. While it didn't ruin their special day, it did put a damper on it, and Angela understood that. She is making an effort to rectify this. Incredible!!!! Idk why it has taken me so long to review! I've recently had some mediocre bakery experiences which left me bummed and also checking into Maribelle. Omg. The most amazing cakes and cupcakes. The cupcakes are out if this world delicious. You can't order just one, who would ever want to???? They come by the dozen and I think that's why a lot of ppl don't know how amazing they are. I have tried cupcakes everywhere and they all fall short of even being as delicious as these. The orange butter batter with the chocolate truffle is like heaven. And the white chocolate batter with the Madagascar vanilla bean filling is incredible. The woman I spoke with was incredibly unprofessional. Her customer service and manners were egregious. My order was incorrect and not done at all to my specifications. As much as you pay to have a customized cake I certainly had higher expectations. She refused to apologize for the mistake, and would not even offer a refund or discount of some kind, she just kept stating that this is what I would have to take or leave with nothing. I will certainly not be bringing any more of my business here, nor would I advise anyone else to do so if you would prefer your order to be filled correctly. read more

The cupcakes were delicious, and every interaction I had with staff leading up to our wedding reception was very friendly. However, I can't recommend Maribelle for a large event like a wedding. They were unorganized and sometimes did a poor job of communication. I was thrilled with most of my vendors and left them all glowing reviews online, but for Maribelle I wrote them an email kindly giving feedback on some of the hiccups I experienced with them. I explained that while the cupcakes were wonderful, a bride planning a wedding really is looking for a vendor she will not have to keep checking up on or answering the same questions for multiple times, and will follow through with what they said they will do. It took them a long time to respond to my feedback email. When they finally responded, they tried to argue or make excuses for some of the inconveniences I experienced, while failing to address others. I had not been looking for an argument or even a discount, so this response to my feedback was less than professional. Maribelle Cakery was one of the best experiences about my wedding (besides marrying my husband). They were seamless in every aspect. I went in for an initial tasting and put down a desposit. They sketched my idea out and had me critique it. I came back a month or so before my wedding and they finalized the sketch, inquiring on whether or not I wanted anything changed. I provided them an address and they delivered the cake on our wedding day. It was the best experience, and the cake (which was 3 different flavors, and they give you a free smaller cake on your 1 year anniversary) was a five layer absolutely gorgeous and well priced cake. They seemed nice enough. My husband and I went in for a cake sampling and were never introduced to whomever we met with. Their emails aren't signed by anyone. I had several correspondences with the mystery person about the cake for the wedding day. I requested a sample a few weeks before the wedding just to make sure we were getting what we really wanted. I changed one of the flavors via email and the email was responded to. On the day of the wedding the flavor was incorrect. After our honeymoon, I let them know that we didn't get what we had ordered, and their response was "We did not notice that in your email" and actually blamed me for it! They did not try to rectify their wrong. I have seen other reviews that have said the same thing. I would have been fine with the mistake if they would have been professional, but they weren't.
