    Carne asada tostada
    Amanda H.

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some traditional Mexican food. He ordered a lengua torta with the works. I ordered a carne asada tostada. Then I realized it was a Sunday and I got my fix of caldo de pollo!!!! The torta and toastada were yummy but nothing beats quality caldo! I know I'm going to come back for more of their soups!

    Bean, cheese, rice burrito

This little spot didn't look like much, I almost passed it as I was walking by looking for it. Walked in and it was empty on a Monday early afternoon, which was a nice change of pace from other places I've explored. Ordered, sat down and it was ready quickly. The rice, bean, cheese burrito was delicious! Everything was hot and freshly made. I'm definitely excited to go back and try other things. Was perfect for my lunch break

$12 burrito !!! I used to come often for burritos and I think they are pretty good but after today I think I'd rather go elsewhere for a complete meal w a drink for under $12. Prime example, a sandwich combo at Gus is $7 includes fries & drink. Plus the place is very small w a tiny parking lot (about 8 cars) for 4 or 5 establishments. There's never any street parking available.

Place is pretty solid. I've only gotten the burritos and the taco plates but you can't go wrong with asada. Reminds me of the spot I used to go-to growing up. They got something for everyone

    3 Taco plate

We had the 3 taco plate with rice and beans. The pork Al pastor tacos and the chicken tacos were so juicy and delicious! We will definitely be making this a normal go to taco place. It's legit Mexican food.

    Bean and cheese. Meh.

No frills, decent tacos. Frequented by locals for a reason. I recommend the carnitas.

Food is not tasty. Very subpar food for being Mexican fast food. Parking is a hassle just trying to park in such a tiny parking lot.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. My second favorite, the roasted rainbow carrots (the salsa macha was palatable all by itself!!). Third favorite, grilled chicken (again, not sure the name on the menu but, it was so juicy and perfect with the housemade tortillas). Other menu goodies, the steak (ribeye bites) tortillas with salsa/guacamole, carnitas (looked good), cactus appetizer, and cheese (and cactus?) quesadilla. Unfortunately, I think the menu was somewhat curated for the private party but I CERTAINLY think it's worth exploring. A lively atmosphere to add to it all!
