If you've ever driven past the Marietta Diner at night, you know it looks like a neon spaceship landed right off Cobb Parkway. I finally pulled up on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and honestly, the sheer scale of this place is hilarious. The parking lot alone is a whole ecosystem, and the inside looks like it can comfortably seat half of Metro Atlanta with room to spare. I came with a serious appetite, so I went straight for the classic heavyweight: the Roast Turkey Entrée (all white meat). Now, when the server started listing out everything that came with it, I thought there was a glitch in the simulation. For starters, you get a soup and a salad. I went with the chicken noodle and a Caesar salad. The chicken noodle hit the spot--properly seasoned, warm, and comforting. The Caesar was solid too, crisp and fresh. But then the main plate arrived, and I'm pretty sure they harvested an entire farm for this one meal. Generous portion of white meat turkey, a mountain of mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and a side of broccoli (gotta respect the greens). Every single item on that main plate was absolute perfection. Tender, savory, and cooked with actual respect for flavor profiles. My only real critique? The bread basket. Look, I don't know what happened there, but that roll was completely devoid of personality. Tasted like straight oxygen and flour. Unseasoned bread in 2026 is an absolute tragedy, but thankfully, the whipped butter spread saved the day and gave it a purpose in life. Between the massive portions and the endless menu options, this place is an absolute unit. You're definitely leaving with a take-home box the size of a carry-on suitcase and a strong urge to take a three-hour nap. Great energy, fast service, and legendary portions. Hey there! You are not going to believe what a blast from the past I had last night! I ended up having dinner at the Marietta Diner. Can you believe it's been *ages* since I've set foot in that place? The last time I was there was with my wife years and years ago, so it brought back a ton of super fond memories. And wow, what an experience it still is! Seriously, the service was absolutely top-tier - everyone was so welcoming and incredibly attentive. And the food? Oh my goodness, it was just as incredibly delicious and outstanding as I remember it being, if not even better! Every single bite was a pure delight. The place is nice and definitely something to stop and see, the staff is friendly and the ambiance is really Diner perfect. The menu is huge but really overwhelming. After finally settling on a chicken sandwich only because it said it was a "chicken cutlet" sandwich I was disappointed it was just a normal fat piece of chicken breast. A chicken cutlet should have been pounded out flat then hand breaded properly. Our fries were under cooked and cold. My husband ordered a French dip and was disappointed they put cheese on it, due to allergies he doesn't eat cheese. Traditional French Dips don't have cheese. Very cool place but for us the food we ordered was not very good, but the place was packed, so they must be doing something right. I would say go try this one for yourself, it just might have been us having a bad night. Our server, Rengel, was so sweet and attentive. He asked us if we wanted a dessert after eating, our huge meals and we said no, but he was so sweet and brought our granddaughter a sundae. The place is always hopping, so if you don't want a crowd or to wait, you might want to consider going a little earlier for your meal. However, the service is so good and quick that you really never wait too long. It's always worth it. The restaurant is warm on the inside with sort of a dark interior and lots of mirrors. The food is average but they give big portions and I think that's why the place is packed. The service was decent and quite busy so you need patience both to get in and to be served at your table. And sure enough, the staff delivered and had us seated within 15 minutes. My sausage and cheese omelette was delicious, as were the home fries,, although I did add salt, pepper, and hot sauce. My family enjoyed gyro platter with Greek potatoes and Greek salad., corned beef hash, and eggs. Our server was friendly, personable, and very quick. It was full for a Wednesday night which told me right off the bat that it was good. The menu is very large almost like a book so there is something for everyone at this restaurant. I ended up ordering one of the Wednesday specials, because yes, they had a whole separate page just for the specials that day. Seafood amore... and man it did not disappoint. It's a large portion, just like everything else there, that had shrimp, scallops, and lobster ravioli in a bisque sauce. It really was a great dash. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings, which of course was a mistake due to the amount of food in our order. The onion rings came out first. Large order with ranch dressing. Crispy and hot. They were very good. Again, I understand that is really doesn't take much to prepare a club sandwich but it was very good and the bacon was crisp and smoky. My wife and son really enjoyed their meals and spoke of how delicious they were. Again, massive portions. Friday morning our son chose the Marietta Diner again and we had breakfast. I ordered the deluxe pancake breakfast with home fries. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict, and our son ordered pancakes and bacon. Unlike many places, these pancakes don't rely upon syrup or toppings for their only taste. they are simply good. Bacon was cooked perfectly for my taste. The home fries were delicious and a massive portion. Again, I could not finish everything. Our son agreed with me on the taste of the pancakes. My wife loved the Eggs Benedict with the only complaint, one egg was cooked perfectly runny and the other overcooked. Service was fast and efficient again. Now when it comes to diner style eats, this place does pass the bar when it comes to embracing the diner category. I opted for the chicken fried steak and eggs since they serve breakfast all day. That's my staple litmus for an all day breakfast serving joint. Your chicken fried steak must be on point and to be honest, it was okay. The breading was seasoned nicely and it wasn't caked on like other places. The meat was tender and flavorful. The gravy was pretty disappointing as it was more of a sauce than a gravy. The grits were bland and needed help. The scrambled eggs didn't know what they were as they weren't diner style cooked because they literally also held a creamy texture in the middle of it, plus they were unseasoned and also needed help. *Delayed post from April '25 I've eaten at Marietta Diner my whole life and it's still going strong. I ordered the spinach pie, which was flaky, buttery, cheesy, with just the right amount of spinach. The greek side salad didn't have the ripest vegetables, but the feta cheese and dressing pair deliciously with the entire plate. I also tried the Pastrami Smash Burger, which was really well prepared. The portions are huge, so don't expect to finish your plate. If you're willing to stop eating before your full, I recommend getting a slice of cake to share. The old school 50s environment is what really sells this place though, from the exterior neon and chrome design, to the interior wallpaper and booths. You can tell there's a lot of history despite only being around for 30 years. A great time to visit is 3pm in the afternoon, because your food will arrive sooner and service will probably be better due to the lesser number of patrons. read more

This place was in the top most reviewed places, so we definitely had to go. For ambiance I'd give this place a 5/5. The outside reminded me of my favorite Diners (they may have actually just taken the exact design, depending on which one is older). When you walk in there was a long line, but, the seats were comfy and the maitrede was very friendly. When you walk past this you get to see all the great desserts (and they do have quite a few) paraded by you. Dancing in a nice light, inviting you before you even have them. For service, beyond the maitrede, the first waitress seemed to get busy, and before it had been two minutes the owner said something to another server, and she apologized and immediately took over. You get that warm comfortable feeling as if you're at home (but can eat whatever you want when you want as it's open 24/7). They also have balloon animals for kids. Service I'd give it a 5/5. The server (I forgot her name but she was very sweet) noticed that I took one sip out of my wife's soda (just one!) and got us another one. She also got us the biggest slice ever of cheesecake mousse (thank you!). The food was definitely incredible. I got the Pierogi Remano with chicken and it was a one of a kind item that I'm going to ask my wife to make ( I kept asking her when we were there for this) when we head back home. It came with a soup and salad, and they even seem to make their croutons in house (so good!). My wife got the chicken gyro meal, which was healthy (not my type of Diner food) and she was unable to finish it as it was that big (my type of Diner item). The dining area, bustling with courteous staff and patrons alike, opens to ample table and both seating. We were properly greeted by our server who took our drink orders & gave us time to make our choices. Dinner started it with bread and Spanakopita, quickly followed up by our matzo ball soup, salad and HUGE entrees. The servings are not for the weak, but you'll feel like you've been fed enough for one, so bring empty tummies! And forget calorie or carb counting; this is a full-on cheat meal. All the dishes were well prepared, nothing being overly-salted :) Then, of course, we cannot forget the dessert displays - one side, having pies and cheesecake and the other having just about any cake you could think of wanting to have, as a special treat. We had such a fun time here--rolled into a completely lit up restaurant late night and cars were lined up at the drive-thru, people were still walking in, parking lot was full-but not too full that you couldn't find parking. We were seated immediately, but not before I ran over to the dessert counter to look at all the pastries. The waiters joked with us, were professional, and friendly. They started us off with spanakopita (spinach pie) and a giant, warm fresh loaf of bread (tastes like hawaiian bread). Super yummy, especially as it was complimentary, though the spanakopita was a bit greasy. All foods are in GIANT portions and I mean GIGANTICA. The Greek platters are amazing and the meats were all incredibly tender (you could literally chomp the lamb chops with your teeth; no knife required!) The pierogi is super creamy and decadent...we were very impressed. Dessert-wise, we got the key lime pie and key lime pie cheesecake--we prefer a tangier key lime pie and I couldn't taste the key lime in the cheesecake. We also got a baklava cheesecake, which was way too sweet for my liking, and some snowballs/wedding cookies, which were light and very nice. The desserts were a bit of a flop for me (minus the cookies), but might just be personal preference. I definitely want to try the carrot cake and other sweets next time. I'm giving this a 5 star for the entire experience. This is an awesome place to take out of towners and the fact that this is a 24/7 location makes it so convenient. The NEON and CHROME diner from the outside is insanely eye-catching and honestly, I love the retro maximalist look. It even has a drive thru! The interior, too, is like stepping into a time machine to the past. The menu, which is like a novel, also made me feel like I was in a fever dream. There were some truly shocking dishes that I'd never even envisioned before, like a tomato stuffed with tuna, egg, or chicken salad. Seriously, peruse the whole menu, because it's worth seeing all the crazy offerings. I decided to go the dessert route for dinner. I thought the cakes in the display case looked pretty enticing, and is a cake really that much different than getting French toast with all the fixin's?
