So it was my mom's bday and she wanted carrot cake and I researched here on yelp and ended up choosing Marigold. I was taken aback at the $60 price but I there were several people coming to the party and this way there wd be enough for everyone. Had my friend's birthday dinner here last night and it was seriously an amazing time! The owner was there and spoiled us with amazing on the house appetizers, desserts and fresh bakery goods! Food was delicious, hot and fresh!! Oysters were flown directly in! Solid Five Hands down. You can't change my mind. This restaurant was the epitome of dining out. Friendly staff, great wait service, and hostesses. Down to earth owner that treats you like family. What a treat to visit this place! Met up with my friend here for brunch before heading out to Garden of the Gods. Ample parking.....if you come early! It was a Friday and we were a bit early, so we sat there gawking at all the pastries and cakes! We were seated within 10 minutes of waiting, the line started to lengthen out! I'm glad we went early, the place was packed within the hour. Hot spot! Service was on point and our waitress was very friendly and patient with us, as we couldn't decide on everything! My friend ended up doing half the Muffuletta and chips, while I had their special - Salmon Pasta. I loved my pasta and the portion was very generous. I didn't think I'd be able to finish it, but I did! It was too delicious as brunch than leftovers. My friend enjoyed her Muffuletta and the fresh chips! We both ordered a dessert to go. I'm a big fan of French patisserie so when I saw this spot, I was super excited. There was a line outside waiting for Marigold's to open! That is how wonderful this place is. However, I was a bit sad with the pastries. As someone who loves croissants, I was excited to try the pain au chocolat, but I found that it was underwhelming. The blueberry scone was unbelievably dry and lacked flavor. But the cinnamon twist was fantastic! All of it came to $13 which is actually really good! But the pastries were just super lackluster sadly... The vibe is very cozy and comfy. I want to come here to try more of the desserts and the food. Marigold's is one of my favorite restaurants...We ordered takeout for my birthday dinner since we had to stay home to take care of my mother in-law who was in Hospice care. This was her favorite restaurant too. She planned my a rehearsal dinner here for my wedding years ago, so Marigold's will always have a special place in our heart. If you want to splurge and want the most delicious juicy steak, order the Filet Mignon. OMG it was big enough for leftovers. It was cooked to perfection and I ordered some mashed potatoes and grilled veggies to accompany the dish. According to Mr. G, who ordered the Beef Bourginon, he preferred my dish over his (but it's kinda hard to beat Filet Mignon). We had the most delicious crab cakes, a slice of yummy strawberry cake and their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, which was out of this world. We had some wonderful wine at home and some cute little candles to top my little slice of cake. It was the best birthday dinner ever, and sadly the last one I would spend with my mother in law. They had specials offered that looked great (see pic of special menu). The bread is house made, so are their chips which were both amazing. I asked our AMAZING waiter Jasper if the curry pita sandwich (forgot the name) was good. He highly recommended it and it did not disappoint. It was so fresh and flavorful. We arrived at 4:56, as did several others. The staff were standing around. The hostess at the stand. She refused to start seating anyone until 5:01. Not that 5 minutes was a big deal, but totally unnecessary. Then she spent more than 5 minutes with a reservation party of 6 wandering the dining room letting them pick which table they wanted. We didn't have a reservation and felt looked down upon. At 5:00, there was no need for a reservation. read more

A Warm, Family-Friendly Gem in Colorado Springs We had such a lovely dinner at Marigold Café & Bakery, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in Colorado Springs. From the moment we sat down, the staff went out of their way to make our kids feel comfortable. The manager (or owner) welcomed them with genuine kindness, and throughout the meal he checked in with a level of care that's incredibly rare these days. At one point our three-year-old was upset about butter (toddler life!), and he took the time to ask our permission to show her the butter they use and even peek into the bakery area to see some chocolate being prepared. She lit up, ate better than she ever has in a restaurant, and kept saying how much she loved "this awesome place." Both kids talked the whole drive home about wanting to come back. The service overall was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. It honestly felt like being welcomed into someone's home, but with the professionalism and quality you hope for in a great local restaurant. We moved to town about six months ago, and this kind of warm, family-friendly hospitality makes us even happier to call Colorado Springs home. I also noticed how intentionally kind the staff were with the tables around us, not just ours. It's clear this is part of the culture at Marigold, not a one-off.
