We have been here many times but we are celebrating my husband's birthday. We made it just in time for our favorite pancake of the month, Lemon Poppy Seed. It's so big my husband and I share. Our server, Jazzy was great and kept my coffee cup full. I ordered the OP Combo, 2 eggs, all crispy bacon(3 thick slices), & a pancake. This place was recommended by one of my accounts that I was visiting in Colorado Springs When we walked in, it was super busy however they are extremely fast and efficient in getting you seated The ambience truly feels like you're in somebody's home and it has a great cozy vibe Now for the food, they have a rotating monthly pancake, and we came in on the last day of April. The pancake of the month was carrot cake and it was absolutely delicious. The pancake was perfectly cooked as well as fluffy and a nice balance of sweetness and cinnamon. We also ordered the omelette and biscuits and gravy. The omelette had a great flavor, especially with the crispy bacon and potatoes stuffed inside. The side og potatoes were phenomenal and had a great dipping with the gravy from the biscuits and gravy The gravy was nice and pepper-y and the biscuits were nice and soft. It always seems to be very busy and Labor Day weekend was no exception... Even still it's a big place so it wasn't terrible getting seated. The bathroom is in dive bar adjacent to the dining area?? The meal also included a whole wheat muffin which was delivered pre-buttered with about the right amount of butter in my opinion! This is a Colorado Springs institution, for sure. Even on a Thursday at 8:30am, it was pretty busy. If you are hungry, this is a good choice because it's a hearty and tasty breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict. The meal met my expectations. If you love hollandaise sauce, the eggs are definitely smothered. The potatoes were a pleasant surprise because they were quite flavorful and not greasy AT ALL. I got to taste the regular pancake (they also have special pancakes that change out weekly or monthly, I'm not sure) it's sprinkled with powdered sugar and it was delicious, even with no syrup! The bacon was thick cut large slices and probably the best bacon I've had at any breakfast place I've been to in the Springs. I saw omelettes walking by and they were gigantic. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. Service timing was reasonable. There were a few things that knocked it down from getting the fifth star for me. One was the size of the tables. I don't know how small people used to be back in the day when this place opened, but I am not a gigantic person and it was tight. Seating for two leaves barely enough room for your plate because of the huge condiment rack and creamers taking up a lot of the table, and you are so close together you are bumping legs under the table. Also, even though the food was served warm, it was only barely warm. Not, like, piping hot if you were eating it at home, which kind of surprised me. The last time I came here my food was cold, so it was better than that, but given the good service, I was surprised that it wasn't hotter. So I'd say this is definitely a solid choice for where to eat breakfast, but I'd suggest choosing things that you don't mind being only warm instead of hot. read more

Today I stopped in to have breakfast at this iconic restaurant with high expectations for a place that is always busy. My waitress was very professional and attentive. The coffee was the best part of the meal. I ordered the steak and eggs. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the steak was well cooked but tasted old, and the potatoes were overcooked and hard to eat. I was disappointed with meal, and perhaps won't recommend this restaurant. Be old and iconic, good waitresses does no make the food worth coming back to eat again. I been meaning to try this place for a while, every time I drive home from work I see that the place is packed. A friend came to visit a couple of weeks ago and we decided to go there for breakfast. The place is very cute and old school looking, my favorite part was and area with a bunch of potted plants under a skylight. We got a very pleasant lady for our server (can't remember her name as I'm terrible with names) she was very nice and efficient at her job. As far as the food goes, it was a very American breakfast kind of place. They serve a lot of food (I couldn't even finish it, which is rare). I had the garden omelet, I believe it was called. If I could give more stars I would. From the service to the food - everything about this place was top notch! Our hostess greeted us upon entering with warmth and not only offered us a booster seat for our baby, but if we wanted one with straps - it's usually a crapshoot with baby seating so this was such a wonderful surprise. The place has such a comfy old atmosphere - like you're at your grandparent's. Next, our server Rachelle was phenomenal, never made us wait, great conversation, such a nice person. She took such good care of us. Now the food - holy moley. We got three CC's combos, one with a Belgian waffle, one with the banana bread French toast, and one with a pancake - just to sample everything. The bacon and sausage are thick cuts, the eggs were done to our liking. Those carbs - couldn't finish. Everything tasted wonderful and filled us to the brim. We went there for breakfast after doing the normal tourist jaunts to the Garden of the Gods. By then we were pretty hungry for really good hearty breakfast. The Omelette Parlor didn't disappoint. The menu has a very eclectic feel to it. Try the green chili. My daughter wrote a nice review of this as well. I had to have the pancakes with an omelette and there were nice and tasty. My wife and daughter tried various dishes so that we could share and enjoy the various breakfast items. I will say we all left full and satisfied. There is a small little gift area where you can buy t-shirts and other little tourist trinkets. We went there around lunch time and there was a short line with steady influx of customers. We waited less than 20 minutes to be seated. The service was pretty fast considering the place was full. Staff was friendly and efficient. The inside has a homey feel, nothing fancy but clean. We ordered Chicken Fried Steak, Cowboy Hall of Fame (8oz New Pork Strip Steak) and a French Toast. Serving portions are good at reasonable price point. Everything was good and was served hot. The OP potatoes, gravy, muffin and French toast were awesome. First off, expect a long wait. This place if very popular. Service was excellent, food was good. Got their chili omelette and it was good. Nothing particularly special (could have used a bit of heat) but good (not sure if it's made fresh but it did have a bit of a canned flavor). I wouldn't order it again. Got a biscuit as a side and it was dry as a bone. But those potatoes. Oh. My. Delicious, big slices of potatoey goodness. I ate them for three more meals there were so many. I could come back just for those. Another thing to note: Booths are great if you aren't plus size. If you are, expect to be uncomfortable. I have been coming here regularly since moving to the Springs. And I consider it my breakfast place. The food is top notch and fresh. I've gotten to sample most of the menu, and it's always delicious. I love the decor and the history. It's special to me also that it's in my neighborhood. And the service is always friendly and prompt. Everyone that works there is always in a good mood. I feel comfortable at a place I can do my best egg puns, and get new ones in return. I've never waited longer than ten minutes to be seated, and I've been there on very busy mornings. Worth the wait, because you're served very quickly. I just wish there were smaller portioned offerings on the menu for ladies who just can't finish these amazing dishes. I went back to Omelette Parlor for my mother's birthday. It's her favorite restaurant. There were five of us in the party and we only had one dirty knife at the table. The food was good and filling.
