For over a year, we repeatedly brought our Kia to this dealership because we were experiencing a concerning jerking motion when stopping, as well as instances where the car would completely lose power when pressing the accelerator. Each time, we were told there was nothing wrong because the service department could not recreate the issue. After continuing to insist that something was not right, I finally took the car to another Kia dealership. They immediately identified the problem: the transmission needed to be replaced. Adrian in the service department repeatedly dismissed my husband's concerns and his insistence that something was wrong. After more than a year of bringing the vehicle in and being told there was no issue, all we received was a "sorry" and a response along the lines of, "We never had issues with it." This is the vehicle I use to transport my young child, which makes this experience particularly upsetting. I am incredibly thankful that nothing more serious happened while she was in the car. Thankfully, the full transmission replacement was covered under warranty, but that does not change how disappointed we are with the way our concerns were handled. We trusted this dealership with our vehicle and repeatedly raised concerns about a potentially serious safety issue, only to have those concerns dismissed. We will not be returning to Kia Marin for future service, and based on our experience, I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle here if this is the level of service and attention you can expect afterward.

I also got internet bids from KBB, Carvana, Driveway and CarMax and Car Max offered the most. We ignored those offers though as we thought the car was worth at least $900 more than the Car Max offer based on KBB's private seller values. We waited until it became apparent it wasn't going to sell in the old tried and true way but the original Car Max offer had expired so I renewed it. They came back with a new internet offer that was $100 more than we were asking locally and $1000 more, oddly, than their first offer. We went down there expecting them to drop the offer based on their very rudimentary inspection. The did not an offered the original amount which we accpeted. All in all a great process and result; highly recommended.

They only had one and told some lame story the place the car came from has the other key in their lockbox. What? We left with ONE key fob which is really inconvenient and very stupid. Now we have to go to the Honda dealership to purchase a second key. This kind of loose end nonsense bodes poorly for their customer service as they've created an unnecessary imposition on a customer that just handed over a substantial amount of cash. This is why I will never leave Peter Pan BMW and will continue to drive BMWs as I have for the last 25 years.
