PLEASE READ!! First off I would like to say I had a great experience with my new purchase and thank you to all the staff with one exclusion! Everybody I interacted with face to face personally during the buying process was awsome especially Omid for helping me get my dream car! The ONLY reason I am giving a one star review is because of Don... long story short, there was some confusion with the second key to my new car. I was told the second key was at their other dealership north state auto in Walnut Creek and the following week I'd be able to get it. I follow up the following week and was told it was a mistake. Don had told me due to this mistake on their part he would have a new second key programmed for me at their expense NO COST TO ME.. this was about a month long process of me waiting to hear back not to mention I was the one who always had to reach out to follow up and never got any my calls returned as don said .. the entire time I was overly understanding, patient, and respectful. Finally one last time reaching out to follow up Don tells me to take the car to the nearest Dodge dealership to program a new second key.. I personally had to take off work and commute an hour out of my way for this. Upon getting there I am told at the dealership it will be about 500$ total for everything for the new key to get programmed.. I call Don back and ask how payment will be handled on his end as promised. His response was to completely go back on his word and deny ever saying he would pay for it! His excuse was I misunderstood him and "at our expense" meant a dealership "discount" which absolutely makes no sense.. Dons exact words out of his mouth was " at our expense, NO COST TO YOU" Don got over on me and made me waste my time taking a full day off work and commuting an hour out of my way for nothing.. I was already recommending this place to all my friends and family before all of this happened.. this could have easily been avoided if Don would have just stuck with his word.. Again thank you to all the staff at Marin Imports for such a great experience with the exclusion of Don. I would have given a 10 star rating if it wasn't for Don lying and getting over on me. They called me back multiple days in a row to see if I was still interested in this car after deciding not to go through with it, and they convinced me... BUT as soon as I was out the door in my new 65,000 car I was the lowest of their priorities when it was a few simple things that were suppose to be taken care of.. none of them were. They were suppose to replace the front emblem in the Mercedes, they bought the wrong one and told me to trim it with a razor blade to get it in. I have been waiting 6 months and been told 50 times that they will order the replacement door handle plastic. They have not. They sold me a car that needs a 10,000 DOLLAR BRAKE JOB 4 months after owning it. the They worked with me very diligently to make sure I was able to finance the car so they could get paid. Bought my car almost a year ago. Car runs fine but had problems in the process. Since buying the car, there has been many small issues that I didn't catch in the process. Partially my fault but also from the dealer. Brakes squeaked for many Months and later found out that the brakes weren't greased at all and warping the breaks. Car was previously wrapped and it was not properly pealed off. Missing tools for spare. Back seat and plastics were clearly taken out and not put in properly. Car had 1/4 tank of gas and asked if they can fill it up and they said no. Overall lots of small problems that I didn't like. Some my fault for not looking at the small details but still not happy with the low quality of getting the car 100%. read more

We had been car shopping ALL day trying to find the right car for the right price and this was one of the last stops on our list (after 8 hours of shopping and driving 150 miles). Most of the dealers in the Bay wouldn't compromise on price for a used Honda Odyssey Touring and we were starting to think we were going to go home empty handed. We had gone to most of the big named dealers from Tracy up through San Jose, San Francisco and ended up in San Rafael. Even though the lot is small, it's definitely worth a shot. This dealer had some really nice cars! They worked with us not only on price but on even sending us headphones to go with our cars DVD player. Masood was our sales manager and he did amazing job! My husband can be a little bit of a difficult negotiator and Masood worked with him every step of the way. He was vey professional, helpful and accommodating. I've spent a few months looking for a very specific high performance luxury car that fits the price/mileage/feature/color ratio that I'm looking for and finally found one at Marin imports that is exactly what I'm looking for. A Mercedes Benz E63 AMG. I live four hours away and had to secure financing and essentially close most of the deal over the phone without seeing the car. I was comfortable with this because I'm VERY familiar with the vehicle and knew it was what I wanted. Everything about the transaction was smooth and the salesperson I worked with, Cole, was very helpful in answering my questions via email and text. And he went out of his way to text me dozens of extra detailed pictures that I asked for. Cole, my salesperson, wasn't working the day I was able to pick the car up and Omid, the manager, closed the sale in person when I arrived. He was a really helpful and cool cat who made the transaction really easy. Now let me explain why this is a 4 star and not 5 star review. The vehicle had black plasti dip on the rims which, for those that don't know, is like a temporary paint that lasts a long time but is then easily removable in case you'd like to return your painted item back to stock. I didn't want the plasti dip so I asked them to remove it (which can take a few hours) and they did that at no cost to me. The issue here is that once the plasti dip was removed, the dealership found out that what was under the plasti dip were rims whose finish is pretty much destroyed. 19" AMG wheels can cost upwards of 5000 dollars for 4 and although these rims were functionally perfect, they are aesthetically GARBAGE at this point. They didn't inform me of this before I made the journey to go buy the car and when I got there I was shocked and disappointed. Fortunately I already had plans to have the rims sand blasted and powder coated to a gloss black, and as long as I could convince them to cover my costs of doing this, then the deal would still go through. I spoke to Omid and after working on it for a few minutes he was able to lower the price of the car enough to cover my costs at the powder coater. So it all worked out. If they would have shown me the rims before I made the journey and we figured this out over the phone this would be a 5 star review. Over all I'm still VERY pleased with the dealership, the employees, and the car. read more

If there were a zero star option this business would surely be getting it from me. I had the absolute worst car buying experience here. Upon receipt of my vehicle it was absolutely filthy. Melted crayons and glitter all over the back seats and cargo area and a layer of unidentifiable grime over every inch of the interior. I was promised to be set up with a detailing appointment (and a full tank of gas) which never happened though I contacted my salesman multiple times to schedule. I moved out of state a month after purchasing the vehicle and after contacting the dealership to request compensation I was offered $100 which will certainly not cover all of the detail work which needed to be taken care of. There are scratches all over on the paint and the rear bumper was very obviously hit and scratched up a lot. I have been going back and forth with them for nearly two months and have not received the $100 check though I provided my new mailing address twice. I was also told I would be given a second key and this has not happened either...they have flat out refused to take care of that and I haven't heard from them in weeks. Bottom line is never trust a used car salesman even if he does claim to be "a man of god." read more

Don't hurt your credit by applying and having yet another hard inquiry on your report and thus, will bring your credit down more. Go to "self lender" and in 12 months after getting their credit builder account your credit is guaranteed to go up 100 points plus you get the money at the end of term. Yunes has made the car purchase easy and quick. He is an honest seller and not pushy at all. I would defiantly suggest this dealership. Even if they seem small, they sell a lot of cars because they have a good selection of unique cars. I couldn't be happier with my recent bmw purchase. Update: the bmw that they sold me had damage in one of the doors that they said they'd fix. They fixed and it looked fine at the time of the purchase but after a few months the paint started showing bubbles. Turns out that they painted over the paint, very dishonest people be aware. DON'T BUY YOUR CAR HERE!!! I read the negative reviews and explained to the salesman (Thomas) I was hesitant bc of them, yet he assured me they were honest and we would be happy with our purchase. YEA RIGHT! We bought a 2018 VW Atlas from them and also traded in our 2014 Ford Fusion. At first I was very happy with the experience, the salesman I dealt with (Thomas) was very helpful. When we traded in our car, they took both sets of keys we had for it, but only gave us 1 set for the one we were buying. My husband asked for a second set, and the salesman said he would call another dealership and get one bc they didn't have it right there. No problem, we didn't mind waiting a bit. My husband paid for the car in full and left, awaiting their second set of keys. A few days later, (after I reached out to the salesman asking about the second set) he told me he was unable to get one and we would have to pay $250 for another set, and said he would try to see if the dealership would be willing to split the cost with us. I called and spoke to the manager who flat out told me they didn't owe us a second set of keys, its not a new vehicle so they are not obligated to provide two sets. I asked why the other salesman didn't tell us this before we paid for the car and of course he had no answer. He also rudely told me he DID US A FAVOR by accepting a price I offered for the vehicle (which he didn't, he went above my asking price). The original salesman then called me back telling me his boss was scolding him and he said the reason he didn't tell us a second set was not guaranteed was bc we were "cool people" and he was going to try to get us one. I appreciated that he wanted to help us, but why not say that before you take our money? He never told us a second set wasn't a guarantee. He made it seem like it was before he had our money, then after he made it seem like he was doing us a favor by splitting the cost with us. At the end of the call, he promised me he would get us a second set even if he had to pay for it himself. Guess what? That was 2 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from him. My husband picked up the car and it didn't even have a half a tank of gas in it, after we saved them the trouble of delivering it to us in Roseville. DONT BUY YOUR CAR HERE!! Two days after we bought it we took it to a VW dealership for an oil change and inspection and they found a problem with the internal computer. They ordered a part and fixed it FOR FREE (all we paid for was the oil change). They also got another set of keys made for us for $230 (less than Marin Imports). If you want a VW, go to the dealership on Arden Way In Sacramento, not this dishonest place!!! read more

Bought a car with a broken radio. They said it would be fixed. Chris told us a NEW radio module would be placed in the car, but they instead bought a used and scratched up one from eBay (which I saw are worth about $30) and slapped it on. In ADDITION to this, the aux port of this used radio was broken, and I had to go through hell dealing with Omid to get reimbursed for a new aux port which I had to buy and install myself. When I bought the car, the center module (which is the radio piece) was in very nice condition. But since they were not willing to replace the radio with one in similar condition, but instead chose the cheap way out, I now have a scratched up middle section. Keep in mind that this middle section is about 1.5 feet wide and 1.5 feet tall. It's not just a small scratched up radio section that can go unnoticed. But rather, the entire middle chunk of my car's dashboard is scratched up and significantly worse than that of the one I originally bought. On top of this, Yunuss was dishonest about the terms of the warranty, which we later found out. Why is it so hard to make progress with these guys? They avoid phone calls and don't get back to you, after promising that they will. read more
