I went to get an acrylic set done the day before a wedding I was going to be in and was trying to find a great place near the venue. I was originally worried that Marina Nail Lounge would be iffy because it had only been in Cibolo for a year but they were wonderful! The staff was incredibly nice and caring. The artist I had was a man, I don't recall his name, but he did wonderful. He was constantly checking to ensure what he was doing was what I wanted. Although it may sound dramatic, I don't think I've ever been to a better nail salon. On top of the great service, the place was beautiful and clean. It wasn't stuffy or cluttered. The place had a very modern feel to it with your usual calming music and scents. They also didn't have TVs so you could actually unplug! All in all, I paid $70 for what I got and I don't regret it. They're still perfect a week later (of course with your normal growth). After 4 years of searching for a good nail salon in Cibolo, this is the only salon I go to now! Their customer service is great, it's extremely clean and pretty inside, and the pedicures don't feel rushed at all. They have complimentary drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and their prices are pretty consistent with what I find elsewhere. My last pedicure (gel) was still good after almost 2 months, and I only went back because I wanted a different color, not because they were chipped. I came in for the first time yesterday and I'm thinking it will also be my last. The guy that did my pedicure dug around my left toenail with a sharp tool (then nail clippers) to pull out some skin, then went in with his fingernail to dig around some more. Later, after poking the plastic tub liner with a metal instrument so the tub would drain, he went and used the same tool on my left toenail to dig some more. As soon as I realized it was the same tool he'd used to poke the liner, I waved him off. He tossed the tool down into a box in his kit (not a location where it will probably be sterilized) and asked me if the toe was better. I told him it didn't hurt before so I'm not sure if it's "better" at all (shrugging). I was thinking to myself, "Oh no... Please don't let me get infected..." I came home and scrubbed my toe and applied Neosporin to ward off any possible infection but less than 24 hrs later, my toe is throbbing and turning pink/red. I will provide updates as things progress but am worried I'll end up seeking medical care for this incident. UPDATE 3/10/25: I'm on a 7-day round of antibiotics and things are improving now. Just be vigilant if you choose to go here. read more

Today I visited the new Marina Nail Lounge with my 19-year-old daughter and had a mixed experience. **Pros:** - The salon is bright and beautiful. - The lady who did my pedicure was fantastic! She had a cheerful attitude, sold me the biggest package, and did an excellent job. **Cons:** - My daughter's experience was very different. Initially, she asked for the same package I was getting. However, when she inquired about recommendations, her nail technician started the service without any discussion and was on her phone or calls almost the entire time. - My daughter's nails ended up uneven and jagged. When we requested a fix, another technician said the nails were too short to improve (though they weren't before the pedicure). Additionally, she claimed my daughter ordered a "regular" package, which they don't even offer. I think if they had the little papers you fill out like at other salons, it would mitigate any confusion. I'm not one to write reviews about anything but this experience was incredibly shocking and disrespectful. There is always an issue with getting someone who actually wants to do their job. The owner could not accept that we stuck with technicians we liked bc her other technicians complained about how annoying it is having to make convo & take care of customers literally as one of those technicians was working on me. I never allowed her to work on me again. I stuck with my lady. We would show up on the days they informed us our technicians were working, it worked until suddenly they requested we must instead call to book an appointment, okay no problem done. However every-time we called the owner would give some unique excuse as to why they couldn't make it work. The owner and her husband made us feel extremely unwelcome each time we came in, either by rushing us or having us come back later even AFTER WE CALLED and booked an appointment as requested. As frustrating as this was we still tried to make it work bc we genuinely liked our technicians. Each time we came in thereafter the owner had an immediate attitude and had endless side talks with her husband staring us down. Today I called to make an appointment for my mom with the guy she regularly sees, the husband confirmed and when I asked if I could join her at that same time and have a pedicure with my preferred technician he said she had an appointment too close to that time and needed to confirm but would call me back, he never called. After 4 hours I called to check in and his wife the owner came on the phone saying I misunderstood and that he never confirmed either appointments, as this horrible form of communication has been occurring for months, I grew frustrated and told her I would not be coming in but my mom would be there at 5:40 like we confirmed earlier. The owner spoke over me and said that they will not be making the appointment for either my mom and myself and hung up on me. I called back and told her that was so disrespectful and she proceeded to talk over me and say we have made her technicians feel uncomfortable, the same technicians who we laugh with and tip so well bc they're so good to us. Wow, never have we experienced something so disrespectful and callous. Absolutely gross behavior. read more

I cannot explain how much I love this place, but I'll try. The owner is so funny & friendly, she loves to joke around with the customers. She remembers you & what your favorite colors & typical designs & even offers some new ideas that are in the same aesthetic. I don't know about you, but I hate it when the tech tries to get you to like something you clearly don't like or you're too scared to tell them you're not into the color/design. Not here, they don't get mad or annoyed if you POLITELY ask them to change the color (within reason! Don't be rude to the techs!) I've come every two weeks since it opened & I am so happy with all the techs. The tech who does designs is amazing, & that's cause I'm super picky! I show them my inspo pics & they come with every color they got to get me to the EXACT nails I show them. Everyone is so friendly, it really is a great place. The lady (Jasmine) who did my Pedicure did an amazing job. The guy who did my manicure, not so much. He wasn't friendly and only spoke to give direction, was very rough made at least 2 (maybe 3) of my fingers bleed, and this was the design he put on my fingers. I'm not a picky person and am usually happy with whatever design, but this just makes me feel like he didn't care. The design isn't even in the same place on the opposite hand. I was asked my experience as I was checking out, but at that point I just wanted to leave. The place itself is VERY nice and has a calm relaxing vibe. However, it is very spendy. I got Gel polish and designs on my big toes and ring fingers (Green Tea Pedi) and it cost $138, not including tip. I pay the same amount to get my hair cut, colored, and styled. Normally a regular at a close-by salon, but decided to give this place a try with my daughter. It was really nice and spacious inside, but not that many customers. I opted for the pedi with citrus, I forgot the name of the package. The woman doing my pedi did a great job with the cleaning of the cuticles, but did nip me (& she knew she did because she looked up at me and we made awkward eye contact). Then came the squeeze of the fresh lime juice that stung! Ouch! The exfoliation and the massage was great, however I wish it came with paraffin wax like the other salon at the same price. When it was time for paint, I noticed the nail tech had shellac, but I asked for regular polish at the beginning. I did say something, but she insisted that it lasts longer and kept trying to upsell me. That's not what I wanted nor did I ask for that. Part of the reason I go to the other place is because they NEVER once tried to convince me to get the $20 upgrade for shellac. Anyways, I hate confrontation and ended up getting suckered into getting the shellac against my better judgement. Plus, my daughter's service had already been done for maybe 15-20 mins by the time my polish had been applied. read more

This place is a scam. I took my daughter in for a pedicure before we head out of town for my sister's wedding. Her pedicure was great! Mine however the guy looked like he was still in high school and acted like it as well. I asked for a basic pedicure ($35) and then when the pedicure was about over he informs me they don't do callus removal in their low grade pedicures ?! So for $35 you massage for 2 minutes and then paint? I can do that myself. Then when he was applying polish he proceeded to use his dirty finger nail and jam it into my toe .... I quickly asked him to stop. Then when I mentioned this at checkout the lady told me as long as you don't have a cut you won't get an infection ?!? I still don't want someone's nasty finger jammed in my toe. When I asked for a manager I was also told the owner/ manager is never there .... I was also gonna get my nails done and quickly changed my mind and will go elsewhere. I don't forsee them lasting in Cibolo . read more

I went to the Marina Nail Lounge here in Cibolo to get my nails and my daughter's nails done. I mentioned to them that it was full set for me and just gel polish for my daughter. I ended up sitting there with a gentleman doing my full set and no one came by to do my daughter's nails. Once the guy finished no one still has come to start my daughter's nails. So I paid for my nails and left. I am definitely not an person who likes to make a scene in a business' establishment but I can definitely say I am agree about the situation and my daughter was crying when we left stating she didn't get her nails done. We have only been in the San Antonio area for a week now, just moved here and already found a nail shop that lacks true customer service. All they had to say was they do not provide services to kids. But they couldn't say they because when I walked in they were doing another kids nails. I took my daughter to a different nail shop once we left to get her nails done. read more
