Got my nails done a few weeks ago and the nail tech cut me twice,I was bleeding in pain,the nails were not shiny. Not good work at all. The gentleman that was there was very apologetic and saying he was sorry and as I paid and was leaving, he gave me a gift card with no amount or anything on it. I assumed it was for another set since my experience was so bad. Today I went to go use my gift card to give them another try to make sure that just wasn't a bad day. Today's Experience!! If I could give Rio Nails a negative 10 rating, I would. It's clear this business sees customers as numbers rather than valued guests. The level of rudeness and disregard we experienced was unacceptable. My child and I arrived at 3:45p. After entering my information and selecting nail colors, talking to another customer,we were seated at a station.An older gentleman kindly offered us something to drink, mind you, the only courteous moment of our visit! My pedicure station wasn't even prepared with water, and no one communicated with us about any delays. Admittedly, I was sidetracked with time by having my child with me. By 4:30 PM, after 45 minutes of waiting with no service and no explanation, I decided to leave. pdated.Another customer noticed our departure before any staff member did. Not a single employee acknowledged us as we walked out. I even went back in to scan the QR code for this review and still wasn't acknowledged or updated. We immediately went to a different salon and received exceptional service! All staff were attentive, respectful, and worth every dollar. That salon received a well-deserved tip(extra to block out Rio's), a direct blessing that Rio Nails missed due to their lack of professionalism. Never tolerate or pay to be ignored, dismissed, or treated as though your business doesn't matter. Choose establishments that value your time and presence. I don't even care about the gel polish stuck to all of my toes, but the amount of cuts I have is ridiculous. Both of my big toes got the worst of it. When checking out I told the lady at the desk about it and she said "yeah we've gotten that complaint a few times" and that was all. I'm very disappointed. Also going to add that he used a CHEESE GRATER on my feet. These instruments are ILLEGAL to be used in a nail salon and go directly against TDLR rules and regulations. This salon is absolutely amazing, i ONLY come to this salon. The customer service is unmatched, i drive 25 minutes just to come here every 2 weeks. They are very personal and do a wonderful job, they have drinks , they're clean and comfortable! Im also 37 weeks pregnant I've been coming every 2 weeks since i moved Feb 1st! They make sure im comfortable at all times and i love it. Prices are great in my opinion, they take their time with you, build a relationship (which is the best part because other salons just get you in & out) plus make sure you are satisfied with what you asked for. With the way this economy is and high demands certain people need to really have better patience or book appointments because as a walk-in, PLEASE don't expect to be top priority. Instead of allowing the receptionist to calmly explain, he decided to insert himself into the conversation, raise his voice, and basically tell me it was my bank's problem--and, in his words, "what did I want him to do about it?" Ah, yes, because dismissiveness and aggression are exactly what customers are looking for when trying to sort out a financial discrepancy. At this point, it wasn't even about the double charge anymore--it was about attitude and customer service (or the glaring lack thereof). Enter Rachel, who proudly announced herself as the owner--an owner who, instead of de-escalating the situation, seemed perfectly content allowing her employees to bully paying customers. Went yesterday. First off it was filthy. I get that I went close to closing time but that's really no excuse for not wiping down surfaces as you can see in the hand rail. Nail tech totally botched my big toes after I told her not to cut the sides down. I'm probably going to have them grow in wrong now. I was a little concern because I hurt my left foot. Jason was assigned to take care my service. I told him about my foot. He was gentle and very kind handling my foot. He was constantly asking me if I was ok and not feeling pain. That was very sweet! Sometimes, you go to pamper yourself because you are not feeling in the top of the mountain. He was reassuring me. I fell in love with my manicure & loved the color of my polish. Wasn't great with getting out my ingrowns, but I didn't complain. The next week, I had to have surgery for my knee, so I haven't been to a salon since. When my nails got too long I took the polish off (with acetone) & cut them myself. They were brittle & had whitish "scuffs" that look like the nail layers were peeling. I was alarmed, but thought nothing of it too much. I figured I would let them grow out & get my natural nails back. However, yesterday, I had a nail come off. It was then that I realized I had contracted a toenail fungus. I was mortified & livid. Great little place. My daughter gets her nails done by Vivian and always gets compliments on how great they look. I decided to make an appointment for a pedicure. I had no problem getting the time and date I requested. I was promptly greeted and offered a drink. Lam did my toes and did a great job. My only thing was that I could not find the nail color I had in mind, but I am still happy. I have been going to Rio for a few months and last time I went I had a brownish green fungus under my nail that was transferred from my other hand I get the SNS dip. It was transferred by the manicurist not sterilizing their utensils. I watched him take out his nail clippers of his black cube box and then toss the clippers back in when he was done. Until they start sterilizing their utensils, I won't be back!!! They tried to tell me to use Mr G's treatment, it doesnt work. They told me to use tree tea oil, it doesnt work. Do not let them paint over this fungus. The only way to get rid of it is to put nothing on the infected nail and let it grow out!!! read more

UPDATE: They fixed everything for me. They were extremely understanding and gave me a new gorgeous set for free. The picture is my new set, no mess anywhere. Very hit and miss. I've had great experiences before, but this time was extremely messy and painful. I asked for a coffin shape and it was barely coffin, and one of nails is extremely wonky from being overfiled. The acrylic application was the worst i've ever seen, they obviously did not know what they were doing. After I got home I noticed the pink color was not even smooth or blended in and there seem to be bubbles in the gel coating. I showed them a picture of what I wanted. Of course they said they could do it. Wanting my business and money. I called back 2 days later to let them know my concern and the girl who answered said to come in to redo them. When I arrived the male owner told me I should have told the nail technician then. With the lightening in there it was hard to tell what a horrible job the technician did unitl I got home. The owner was extremely rude after he also told me when I did my nailst there is a 7 day guarantee. Beware of this rule. This only applies if he thinks the job is not up to par. He could care less what I thought. I will not return to the place again. I hope this helps others who are considering going there.
