I absolutely love Marination Ma Kai and think this west seattle location is noticeably better than the downtown one. The price to quality ratio is what really makes this hit. It's one of the ideal fast casual places to take people on a budget. It's Hawaiian Korean fusion, but I struggle to leave the Korean section of the menu. I can't not get the Kimchi Fried Rice with spicy pork every time I go. The fries with kahlua pork on top are really good too.

Amazing happy hour deals! Great location with views of Seattle and the ferry taxi. I liked the coconut Malassada but I wish it had more of the the amazing filling.

Maybe I'm ordering the wrong things, but I thought the food was just ok. Got the kahula pork luau plate and both the flavors and portion size were just ok. Nothing stood out and nothing made me want it again. The location is amazing though. My friends like this place so if I ever come back, I'll have to read the reviews carefully to see if there's something else I need to be getting

Overall a good place. It is self service. I got fish and chips. The looks of fries were not that appetizing but it makes for that with crunch and taste. The kimchi fried rice was decent. The biggest thing going for this place is the location. The location is really great with Seattle downtown view. I wouldn't recommend their mango lemonade. It taste good but they need to cut down sugar content.

food with a view! this is also right next to the Seattle ferry. This has been a staple in West Seattle for YEARS. I'm giving this a 4/5 since it's very situational for me to come visit (i.e: a nice sunny Seattle day and I want to sit near the water) the food is consistently good but there's nothing that's outstanding. A good staple to get once in a while though!

    Sexy Tofu Lūʻau Plate

Delicious plate lunch with tofu. The tofu was so flavorful, as well as the Mac salad. We also got fries and they were just the right about of crispy and soft! The iced tea was also divine.

Came here on a Tuesday about 2:00 - food looked good online, reviews seemed good, okay let's check it out, it's a nice day. Walking in you are blasted in the face with psytrance. like wtf is this weird ass vibe? It's like pounding 140+ BPM psytrance / German dark techno. Time and a place, dude. It's SO off-putting I couldn't believe it. Don't let the cooks control Spotify, just put it on J-Boog Radio and leave it for island vibes. The food however is really good. Kimchi fried rice with kalbi, and chicken and rice kids meal, and the fries were all great tasting. If they have the ube Rice Krispies, grab one or two. But holy shit dude, the hard techno ruins this entire experience.

Kayaks for rent available and great view of downtown Seattle

Great variety of food selections and Friendly staff. The view when you're sitting outside of downtown Seattle seems right out of a postcard. Great experience!

Great location next to the water taxi with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Appreciate that dogs are allowed on the patio, since, face it, walking your dog on the Alki promenade is practically obligatory . We were there when they opened, and service was quick. There are plenty of food options, and the menu does a good job of explaining the ingredients. The cashier was helpful in making my decision, since I couldn't decide between sliders and aloha fries. I went with the sliders and a side of regular fries. The kalua pork had a nice flavor, as did the bright and crisp coleslaw topping. Really enjoyed the kimchi dipping sauce that came with the fries. The miso ginger tartar sauce was good, but on the sweet side (which the cashier did tell me). The food was good, but it was only lukewarm. Doesn't matter as much with the sandwich, but the fries would have tasted better had they been hot and crisp.

This spot is perfect for a summer day. The views of Seattle are amazing and the food is delicious! I loved the vegetarian plate with the tofu. They also have great cocktails, beer, and Hawaiian juices. You order at the counter and then find a seat and order alcoholic drinks separately. Food and drinks came out quickly.

Love this place the beaches right there and it's so beautiful and so is the ferry if you need to catch it but I love love love just coming here and getting some yummy vegetarian tacos and watching the water on the beach it's a whole vibe and I had a mango popsicle. They have a bar. It's literally the perfect summer day lunch spot.

A small casual Hawaiian themed eatery near the water taxi pickup in West Seattle. Walk up to the register and order food. You get a pager for when your food is ready. There is a separate walk up bar to order cocktails. Go find a table inside or outside. We sat outside, as it was a beautiful day, and we had a gorgeous view of the sound. The food: We ordered a crispy fried pork katsu sandwich and some macaroni salad. The pork sandwich was nice and crispy but not overdone with some tasty slaw in it. The mac salad was just the right amount of moisture, albeit it was on the sour side like it had some lime juice in it maybe? I prefer it to be just slightly sweeter but still good . Drinks: I ordered a lychee margarita, and I was afraid of it being too sweet so I asked for less sweet, but it ended up being really tart with no sweetness at all so now wish I had just ordered it without asking for less sweet. My son's margarita was a classic, and he said it was ok. All in all a great casual place for some good Hawaiian food. I have my eye on the kalbi beef plate to try for next time!

    Do you need a reservation?

We don't take reservations - first come first serve on seating, but it moves fast. By the time your food is ready a few spots will have opened!

Does the patio have heat lamps?

They did not have any when I was there in September and yes, it was cold. Indoor seating was not available then, but that may have changed with covid restrictions.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

This place has two outside area. The front of the store facing water seems like a public area, where dogs area allowed. They also have their own outside area, going through their store passing the bar to get there, this place seems not allowed dogs.

What is on the rim of the lychee margarita?

I believe it's li hing mui powder.

My concern is not with the meal; it is with the overall hospitality we received. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I observed differences in how guests were greeted and engaged. Some guests were welcomed with smiles, courtesy, and friendly conversation, while my own initial interaction felt more reserved and minimal in comparison. After being seated, I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone offered me water, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. During that time, other tables around me were served water and received refills more promptly. I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Once my friend joined me, we were asked shortly after if we were ready to order, even though we had not yet had sufficient time to review the menu. Later, when we indicated that we were ready, the server took the menu and walked away without taking our order at that time. One interaction during the ordering process stood out. In general, I observed warm and friendly engagement between staff and other guests. When my friend asked a question, the response we received felt brief and less welcoming in tone and expression, which contributed to our overall impression of the interaction. Standing alone, a single expression or moment could be easily misread, and I would not base a review on that alone. However, within the context of the full experience, it contributed to our perception of inconsistency in service and attentiveness. That pattern continued throughout the meal. Some tables that ordered after us received their food before we did, and appeared to be served more quickly overall. We were also brought to-go boxes without requesting them while we were still eating and in conversation. This made us feel somewhat rushed to finish. The interaction when it came time to pay also felt brief and less engaging than expected. I can only speak to what I personally experienced. The concern here is not a single incident, but the overall pattern of service: delayed water, limited engagement at times, ordering delays, slower food timing compared to nearby tables, and feeling rushed toward the end of the meal. Again, the food was decent, and this review is primarily about the service. Based on our experience, the level of attentiveness and hospitality was inconsistent. For those reasons, my recommendation is maybe. Regardless of the cause, I believe every guest should receive consistent courtesy, professionalism, and attention.

It's perfectly balanced with a complex richness and depth that still feels light and comforting. I don't get that, "I need to chug 3 gallons of water stat" feeling after having this pho which is how a lot of the SEA food out here makes me feel. The carefully braised meats (and chewy tendon) are really nicely made as well. Not gamey at all! This is definitely my go-to for pho takeout in all of Seattle. Trust me on this... not only does this kinda broth run through the veins of my ancestors but I'm from SoCal so I know real, good, authentic SEA food. The pork eggrolls are also super YOMMM. The wings are just ok... but I'd skip the fried tofu at all cost! They were seeping with oil and the fried batter was weirdly super gummy/chewy while also lacking any hint of flavor or seasoning. Yuck! I had to throw those out and I am NOT a food thrower-outer!! But yeah- get at that pho tho! And those eggrolls! Thank me later.

The quality of the meat was disappointing, and both the kimchi stew and corn cheese were lacking flavor. Even the side dishes tasted like they had been sitting for a while and weren't very fresh. They also don't offer a lunch menu on weekends, so for what you're paying, the food quality just isn't worth it. Overall, the only standout for me was the view.
