1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing Experience I rarely take the time to write a negative review, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel other customers should know what to expect. From the moment I walked in, I felt uncomfortable. There was an energy in the restaurant that felt noticeably tense and unwelcoming. I understand that every restaurant has a busy night and that not every interaction is going to be perfect, but this went beyond simply having an off night. As a customer, I should be able to sit down, enjoy my meal, and feel comfortable in the environment. I did not feel that way here. The service was the biggest issue. The overall experience felt inattentive and unwelcoming, and there was a lack of genuine hospitality that I would expect when spending money at a restaurant. Good service doesn't necessarily mean everything has to be perfect--it means the customer should feel acknowledged, respected, and valued. Unfortunately, I didn't get that impression. The food itself was average at best. Nothing I had was memorable enough to justify the experience or the price. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't impressive, and when the food is only mediocre, the service and atmosphere become even more important. What bothered me most was the overall feeling of the restaurant. I left feeling uncomfortable rather than welcomed. I don't expect employees to act like my best friends, but I do expect a basic level of professionalism and hospitality. The atmosphere felt hostile enough that I found myself wanting to leave rather than relax and enjoy my meal. That's ultimately what makes this experience so disappointing: the food was average, the service was poor, and the atmosphere made me uncomfortable. When all three of those things miss the mark, there isn't much reason for me to return. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because there is a significant difference between a restaurant having an imperfect night and a customer leaving feeling like they weren't wanted there. The staff and owner of this restaurant are absolutely disgusting and completely unprofessional. My experience here was beyond unacceptable. If you have an issue with your food -- whether it's incorrect, undercooked, or even RAW -- apparently you are not allowed to send it back without being treated like a problem. Instead of simply correcting the issue, the staff became hostile, gave me attitude, threatened to call the police, and ultimately kicked me out of the restaurant. All because I had an issue with the food I was served. And on top of everything else, I experienced behavior that I found to be racist and completely unacceptable. This is NOT how you treat paying customers. The way this situation was handled was disgraceful, unprofessional, and honestly shocking. A business that treats its customers this way does not deserve their money. DO NOT waste your money here. Mario's is a really good restaurant! A much needed addition to Edgefield, SC. The food was top notch (Italian food made from generational recipes but while innovated with local cultural tastes). The service was helpful and cheerful. The live music by Tim Barnett was fantastic. Halfway through, the owner even joined us at the table and we were able to get to know more about him and his family. And the ambience of the place was fantastic! Overall we spent about three hours there and had a very pleasant time. We will definitely be going back! read more

Great pizza place! We ordered a meatball sub and a club sandwich too! We also ordered the chicken wings for an appetizer and OMG!!! just incredible. They also have a full bar! Drinks were really good too! We had Angela as our server and she was incredible. They have large tvs to watch the games and live music inside also! We met the owner as well! Went to Mario's with my husband for dinner. We had the meatballs and stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and the Mario's Meathead and a pepperoni. All were very good! The sauce was great! My favorite was the Mario's Meathead! The restaurant was impressive! We loved the decor and the atmosphere!
