Sorry Muñoz you failed big time I brought my 2011 Chevy Malibu for manifold and muffler replacement these guys burned my computer rendering my vehicle useless. After I dropped car off for repairs I called a few days later, it was then that I am told they shipped the car to an electronics shop. They burned my computer and didn't make notification to me. 3 weeks later the car is ready for pick up. They installed a new alternate ignition starter button and told me I needed a $3000.00 wiring harness replacement. Muñoz you guys failed in my book and I will be bringing legal action against you. It's that time of the year, time for a car inspection for my work vehicle. The last place I went to, was no longer a option because of there bad policies, so a new location needs to be discovered. And discovered it was. Yelp provided "Munoz Auto Repair" in Brooklyn. I called ahead to see if they could take me and a very polite lady answered. She told me "come down now!" That invention was enough to get me their. It's a twenty five minute drive from Manhattan, which is convenient. When I got to the front, the owner flagged me to pull in. After I told him I was here for the inspection, they waisted no time. They got my car up and inspected quickly. The lady even came out to talk to me. After which time they were backing my car out. Quick and simple. Oh, I should mention the place is big. They have a few lifts to work on cars at the same time. They had a staff just working when I came in. This place was great. If you're reading this, run from this shop. Abysmal customer service. Called ahead to see about stopping in for a vehicle inspection. Guy on the phone tells me no problem, they close at 6pm so as long as I'm there by 5:30, he can take care of it. I drive across town and pull into the shop at 5:10pm, 50 minutes before close. Older guy walks up to my car and says, "You're too late, we're closing." When I mention that I just spoke to him on the phone and he told me to bring it by 5:30pm, all he does is shrug his shoulders and walk off muttering something about how I should just bring it in tomorrow. Crooks, tried to charge me almost 400 dollars for an engine oil change. I have all the oil, filters and everything else you need to do the job. Just needed them to do the Labor. I was going to do it myself but I don't have a lift and it's cold outside. The rate for other places were lower. It's a 2hr job at most. If you are not knowledgeable about your car and prices for parts do not go here. Mechanic told me he has to open up the system??? What system??? Guess they think they are the dealership. I was saved by not going here because I think they only know how to fix simple things. read more

If you like to watch people eat, then use this auto shop. Strange Huh? I'll get into it. First of all, this is my first review in Yelp, and I was prompted to write such due to this strange experience that I had this afternoon. I took my car to Munoz around 12:30 for a simple alignment and balancing, thinking it would take an hour, maybe an hour and a half, at most. Unbeknownst to me, I ended up watching the whole shop take lunch for about 1/2-3/4 of an hour! It's not as if I have a problem with people taking their lunch, however when I came by the shop was relatively dead, and the manager/employee accommodated right away. Okay, +1 for instant service. From there it went downhill, as far as the service went. The manager sent one of his employees to work on my car, and he was all business for the first 15 minutes or so. Then, all of a sudden I see this other employee set up a folding table in front of the lift that my car was located. Didn't think much of it, aside from the fact that I figured I would be done in the next 20 or so and he would have to move. Not any more than 5 minutes later, the whole shop shut down! A couple of what it looked like relatives had shown up, and the whole shop was sitting at this table eating lunch! Tablecloth and all, you would think I was rating a restaurant, but this was a damn auto shop! No warning, no notification, and I was there watching these people eat for what seemed like an eternity. You would think the manager would say, hey listen, we have this meal, or 'something is planned for today', but nothing at all! I'm there waiting playing crappy Blackberry Texas Hold 'em while these guys were stuffing their faces! Definitely one of the most bizarre sights I have seen. After, the time elapsed, and the whole shop literally went right back to work. Leaving aside this adventure, the quality of the work was pretty good, better than most shops. I just cannot get past the fact that there was no regard for the customer. I couldn't bear looking at them eating because it would have just pissed me off more. Good job but terrible service, hence the 2 stars! Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy watching a whole shop eat a formal lunch! read more

I'll start by saying I don't know much about cars outside of the basics and a few other things, these guys could easily take advantage of me, but they're honest men that don't try to milk every dollar out of you. Almost every time I've taken my car here because I don't know what's wrong, they take the time to show me what's wrong. Another time I've brought my car in, one of the guys missed something wrong with my tire during the initial inspection, but when I came back to pick up my car he told me about the issue and that he fixed it and he didn't charge me for it. read more

Stranded on a Saturday after my battery died. TRIPLE A was awful--first said an hour, then when that hour was up said they'd be ANOTHER hour. We weren't even sure Munoz was open but there happened to be a few people around the shop and they rushed over and jumped the car. Stayed to make sure everything was working. Came with a friend who was trying to find a last minute inspection for her car. The shop was closing, but he said he would squeeze it in. An issue came up where her car hadn't been driven in a while and the car needed to do a couple miles at highway speeds for the computer to know if it would pass or fail - he told her to blast up and down the BQE and come back and he'd wait. They will put in any part you might source, although won't warranty what they don't get which is logical. Can't understand the review who was upset at the gentlemen stopping for their lunch break. If you have a German car, DO NOT take it to them! They have minimal experience in this kind of cars. They might be good at simple things that come up on Toyotas, Hondas, etc. But not at diagnosing a complex problem of a German car. They overcharged me on parts from the dealer and even said that he couldnt get a receipt from the dealer because they have a shop account, overcharged me like a sucker. WTF!! This place is pretty good. I had consistent problems with my wheel alignment, after driving over one too many New York pot holes, and getting 2 of my tires changed at another place. I took it to Munoz, and they fixed it. In full disclosure, it took me one return trip to get it 100% right (it was 98% after my first visit), but I don't begrudge them the return. Alignments are rough - and according to things I read on the web, especially rough for Saab's. The car is great now. And more importantly, the folks here were really, really nice through the whole process. The first time, I took off for a few hours, and it was done that afternoon - the second trip I just had to wait for an hour. All in all, they were consistent with their information, and never BS'd me. Good place. read more

I met Washington this morning while purchasing parts for my regular mechanic to install. He offered me a highly competitive price for the parts + labor. When I arrived at his shop, he pointed out other necessary repairs my regular guy failed to mention. As my knees buckled, I felt faint at the new diagnosis. He grabbed me a bottle of water and lead me to the lounge where he patiently listed the work to be done and a very fair price as well as a warranty. Thank goodness for timing. These guys are great. I can't believe these other reviews. Yeah, working people take lunch breaks and if you have a moped (not sure why you would) you bring it to a moped or a motorcycle shop. Anyone with common sense would know that a local garage won't have that kind of part laying around. What a bunch of entitled, park slope jerks these reviewers are. When i lived in the are (up until a year ago) I stumbled upon this garage after being screwed over multiple times by another garage on mcdonald ave. and ft hamilton pkway. They did beautiful work numerous times, in their large, clean, professional looking garage (welding job, oil changes, inspections, flat fixes and always charged me a fraction of what other places tried to get from me. The owner always comes and greets you and let's you know what the price will be and your aprox wait time. Yes, they aren't the best English speakers but I have never had a problem communicating. read more
