What a cute little coffee shop in downtown Vancouver. I am a coffee snob but I love little cafes and this fits the bill perfectly. The owner Mario was very jolly and definitely put a smile on my face all the 4 times I have had coffee there. The mocha was delicious and unlike other most of the places, the sugar was balanced perfectly with rich coffee and chocolate taste. I tried their very healthy loaf, croissant egg sandwich and Scone and all of them were delicious. If you want a coffee with side of smile, try this little mom pop coffee store :)

Small coffee/snack place in downtown Vancouver. I assume the owner Mario was the counter and friendly and engaging. Took a moment to look through the paninis and decided on the Mario's Torino. I believe he expected you to pay after your meal, but paid after sitting down and was asking if I already when I was leaving :-) Very cheesy paninis with a side of chip and potatoes said. Combo comes with a coffee, but opted for water.

Great little Cafe. Italian music playing and great food options. When I am in the area this is where I like to come. Good espresso and great service

A friend of mine told me this coffee shop has the best coffee in town and they are famous for it. Because they are super close to my office, I have decided to give this place a try. I am not a big coffee drinker but when I arrived I noticed they have penne. So why not get one one of those. I ordered a mario torino and I was like wow. This is the best sandwich I have ever had so far and that is because the they were generous on the cheese and plus its real cheese. It had some pickles on the side. Those were some good home made pickles. Overall, I loved their sandwiches. Will come back that is for sure.

What a find! I was looking for the art gallery on Howe featuring the Salvador Dalí exhibit, getting distracted by the cool items in the Holt Renfrew Men windows. Needed an afternoon nosh and walked into Mario's. I felt like I had stepped into a charming little cafe in Madrid. The caprese panini was delicious and the potato salad was the best I'd had in very long time. Service was excellent. I met Señor Mario himself and he couldn't have been nicer. His assistant was friendly too. The music was a bonus. If you're in the Pacific Centre, Waterfront, Canada Place area and looking for good sandwiches and salads, and/or an espresso, this place with the Latino vibe is it.

    Great selection of teas too!

Good, strong Italian espresso. If you're tired of what is usually suboptimal hipster coffee service, come to Mario's to be taken cared of!

Since downtown Vancouver is a busy city but has a fairly good public transit system, we took the sky train to this popular coffee shop. After I asked a question to the friendly staff, I ordered and received my order number. Thank goodness the suite next door offered tables and seating because it would have been quite a balancing act to enjoy a four espresso tasting without a table. The barista noticed my disappointment when he told me that they only have two espresso varieties for my four taster flight and he offered to add milk to two of them so I can taste the pure shots and mini cappuccinos. This was a thoughtful gesture! One of my daughter's ordered a latte and lemon cream bakery good. I tasted the Monogram Calgary a Colombia/Guatemala blend and Dak Amsterdam from Ethiopia. I tasted a bit of rose and mango in the Monogram like they said but the lemon meringue was absent. I got the fruit and berry hints after having the Dak Amsterdam but little white chocolate. Both blends were very STRONG and I preferred them with a little steamed milk, which softened the intensity without taking away the flavor. A very nice coffee tasting experience for just $10 CAD.

Seating is plentiful on the order and pick up side, though cramped, and a larger space is available on the other side. I had my usual, an iced latte, here, and it was tasty and strong. The banana bread was also pretty good! Wi-Fi was not easy to find (if available) but since I wasn't staying too long, I hadn't asked. Overall, this is more of a cramped than cozy space and is fairly busy. Every inch is most definitely used, so it may feel a bit claustrophobic - otherwise an excellent cafe!

We ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, Earl Grey Flat White, and a Pastéis de Nata. The drinks took about five minutes to prepare, and the staff worked efficiently. Their menu seems to rotate seasonally, so you might find limited-time or specialty flavors depending on when you visit. As for the drinks, they were just okay in my opinion. The flat white was quite strong, and while it included Earl Grey syrup, the flavor didn't come through as clearly as expected. The Pastéis de Nata was decent -- not too sweet, but a bit dense. Overall, prices are reasonable for what you get. Worth a visit if you're curious about their seasonal offerings.

Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice!
