This restaurant is AMAZING! Their food is absolutely to die for. My husband and I were in town for a wedding, and this was where the rehearsal dinner was held. We loved it so much that we came back for lunch later in the trip. The service was fantastic (both at the event and lunch). This place is great. Service is friendly and the food is terrific. My biggest problem is ordering too much, but that just means there is some to take home! I like their spicy margaritas and tostones. I could make a meal out of those. Last time I was there I had the nachos which were very filling. A lot of the stuff is smaller and you can order a bunch of things and share. The interior is bright and colorful with several different seating options between the bar, traditional dining tables and a large high top community table in the middle. I sat at the bar and received fast and friendly service from both bartenders. The guacamole was delicious with its balance of tartness and creaminess. The chips were my favorite type, in house thick fried with a nice touch of salt. Also tried the carne arepa and chicken empanada. Both were a little dry, both the crust and the meat but it was flavorful. The two hot sauces tasted fresh and brought heat to each dish. The Al pastor was the best thing I ordered. I loved the fresh jalapeño to pair with the pineapple marinated meat. The shrimp was a little disappointing with the lack of seasoning and garnish/toppings. Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is taqueria. The food we had and the drinks they're making are not promoted well enough on their menus. They have several unique cocktails and mocktails made using house made purees and unique preparation methods such as "mint swizzling", similar to muddling but much more thorough and efficient. These cocktails are not given adequate promotion on their menu, and need to be described more clearly as they are uniquely interesting and highly original and of superior quality. I had the Carne Asada taquitos, and they were excellent. The wife had the Taco Salad and stated that it was delicious. She also had a roja sangria, made with brandy and Triple Sec, very good and unusual. I had a couple of IPA's that were canned, but excellent. We sat at the bar, and our server "Thalita" was both very committed, talented, and knowledgeable in attending to her mixologist duties. The prices were competitive. Yes. Absolutely! I tried so many things. The margarita was just right, the chicken empanada was stellar, and the tacos al pastor were lovely! Inside was really clean, yet, cozy and comfortable. There was a television at the bar with sports on and the bartender was really friendly. Overall I thought it was pretty fantastic and I'll definitely be back. Had a chance to have an early dinner. Wanted to try some Latin food and the menu was inviting. They have a cute patio to the side, before entering. It was hot and a bit humid so decided to eat inside. They have an open floor plan. As you enter, you face the bar. To the right and wrapping around the windows are tables seating two to four at a time. Thought it looked pretty. They have happy hour from 4-6pm during the week. We went ahead with the sangria and then margaritas. Thought mine had too much ice, but tasted good. My husband and I both chose the steak (grilled picanha). It came with rice with black beans (Moro), grilled onions (some white wine vinegar) and avocado slices. Cooked as requested, it was good. But it seemed to miss something. A lime quarter so you can squeeze it on your meal would have brought it to the next level. Tasted real good though. For dessert, had the churros. Real good and the dulce de levee sauce was good too. Being out of town and finding good places to eat is always a challenge. We love Mexican food and really any food below the southern border. This place was amazing. The service was great, our waitress was so helpful and kind, everyone was fantastic. The food came out quickly and was so good. Very fresh and full of flavor. The drinks were good as well. All in all anytime I'm back I'd return no doubt. Zero complaints. Very nice, clean, relaxed atmosphere with a menu that's not overwhelming. Everything we had was delicious. All the meats were cooked well; nothing overcooked. My only complaint is that the meat on the tacos weren't consistent on all tacos but the flavors were so good that I'm still giving it 5 stars. First time I try this food and last time, placed an order for pick up and I threw 21 dollars in the garbage. Pica pollo is dry and over fried no flavor , and an order of Al pastor tacos I get a mess in a plate. I took the food and eat out in the parking lot , so this is the way they served the tacos with a very dry tortilla that split in pieces when I try to build the taco my self with my hands because I didn't get utensils in my bag. We stopped her from New York and I must say it was a nice time. We came to eat brunch and we ordered almost everything off the menu. I had the margarita, mojito and caipirinha. All three were good but I would say the margarita was the best. The service was great Rihanna was an awesome waitress. She was attentive patient and very nice. The food came out timely and the inside decor was great. On to the food I had the special the mofongo which was good but to me it had too much garlic sauce. It was a great dish but it was also a small portion. Now Rihanna did tell me the portion was small. Also I do not like chopped up shrimps; I am more of a whole shrimp person and it was chopped shrimp on top. The plantain was good and everything was well flavored. Also had the chicarron de pollo which was very good. They had fried thigh prices and they were perfectly seasoned and fried. I like my chicken chunks with the skin really crispy and this was not a crispy skin chicarron. It was still good; very good. I also prefer dark meat so I think it was great for them to fry the thigh as oppose to the the breast and it was an easy eat because they removed the bone. This came with tostones which were also very good. This portion was great. I recommend you get this if you you come here. My niece had the birria tacos she said it was very good and they are very small; so I would recommend getting two orders of the tacos. We also had the guacamole which was very good as well and came with fresh chips. They had hot sauce which was delicious; I think they make it themselves. The empanada was also very good but they just have chicken empanada or I think a vegetarian one. I like beef empanadas so I would say maybe there are things they can change a little bit. Wait I almost left out the most important portion of the meal the churros. Omg these churros were amazing fresh and the caramel sauce was so delicious. This place is amazing! After driving all the way up from Virginia and having a TERRIBLE experience for lunch, we knew we needed an awesome supper. We absolutely found it! I went to el baño, and while I was fixing the running toilet (yes, I know, but I can't help it) my Bride was racking up the order. It's small portions, which she pointed out means that we get to try more of them! The coffee was Café Bustelo, and was perfect. Arepas (cornmeal cakes stuffed with things) come individually. We split an Abuelita's Arepas ($5), filled with shredded chicken, avocado, cilantro, and fresno chile. It was delicious- slightly smoky, somewhat creamy. The Hongos arepas ($4) is a vegetarian option- bbq mushrooms and pikliz (like a spicy sauerkraut). This is one vegetarian dish that I ate and didn't even think "that would have been better with some meat in it." Then we had an order of Coxinhas- four Brazilian chicken fritters with catupiry cheese ($8). They were like little pelotas of flavour that were warm and soft and just a little spicy. We followed them with another vegetarian dish, the Cheesy Corn & Coconut empanada ($4). This was the surprise hit of the meal; I'm already trying to figure out how to make them at home. Two orders of tacos came next. These are like street tacos- little, and two in the order; perfect for date night! The Al Pastor ($7) was, like all good al pastor, bursting with bright pineapple and jalapeño, held together by the perfectly cooked chunks of pork. The Pollo BBQ ($6) was excellent- guava bbq chicken, with Oaxaca cheese and avocado ranch. The tostones ($4) were savory, not sweet, and came with a mild oil pickle. Eight in the order meant 4 apiece! We finished up with Mexican Chocolate Pudding Pie ($7) topped with toasted coconut, cinnamon, and real whipped cream. My Bride commented at the end of the meal that it was too bad we were so full, as she wished we could try more! Since everything we did try only came up to $50 before tax and tip, I wish we could have eaten more, too. Maybe on the trip back... 11/10 highly recommended! read more

Came across this gem while in Connecticut and legit 5/5 recommend. The service was amazing, the vibe was great and the food and drinks were yummy. So we had the option to either sit inside or outside and we opt with sitting outside because the weather was nice. They have a lot of space outside. There's also a section outside that had sand but we sat in the concrete side. This restaurant gave me Caribbean vibes with a touch of Mexican food. Something i have never seen before but loved it. They also played great Spanish music. For drinks we had the passion fruit margarita pitcher which served 6 cups for $49. We've been here quite a few times and tried 90% of the menu. The arepas are perfection. Every taco we've tried has been delicious - keep in mind street tacos and small plates. We usually order an appetiser, one or 2 orders of tacos each, a side and our appetites are more than satisfied - usually need a nap after. The margaritas are also delightful.
