This is a local restaurant that you MUST try. It's primarily seafood but they do have some other options. The food is delicious! Their alcoholic beverages are so good, too! So I'm working the Wilmington/San Pedro area today and we're ready for lunch right now. Found this place on Yelp. It has a 4 star rating, so it should have decent food here. So this place looks like your average Mexican family restsurant. The exterior and interior was OK, looked a little outdated, could of used a makeover job, but was clean. Waitresses were really nice, friendly and attentive, so no problems there. Chips & salsa were really good, chips were fresh and crispy, and not greasy, salsa tasted great, had a little heat to it. Ordered the mix fajita plate, came with beef, chicken and shrimp, and with a mixture of bell peppers, onion and tomatoes. Instead of the traditional sliced chicken or beef, this one served was more like a Chinese stir fry. Didn't look like a traditional fajita, but tasted good, above average. A big plus was the home made corn tortillas. So all in all, a pretty decent place to eat. I would come back, if I'm ever working in this area again. 4 stars from me. read more

I'm going to give them 3 stars just because their rice and chile relleno burrito are top tier. But their seafood has significantly declined since covid - no longer that delicious, fresh quality. My mom, for whatever reason, is still a loyal customer. She is disabled and still walks all the way over there around once a week because she loves having handmade tortillas. On multiple occasions, they have forgotten something, and she lets it slide. Yesterday they forgot the one thing she goes for, the tortillas. She walked all the way back and asked if they were going to give her something for the inconvenience- the manager, that used to be a waitress and always had a bad attitude, told her no. My family and I were driving by and saw this cute little place was offering outdoor dining and we thought we should give it a try. They had coverings to shade the tables. Servers were very friendly. They had their masks on due to Covid, and had the tables socially distanced. They gave us our chips and salsa, with our menus. They came and asked us what we wanted but once we got our food we really didn't see them again. The table salsa was just ok. It kind of tasted like a tomato soup with a bite. The plates were 11 bucks and up. The kids menu items were 7 bucks. I felt that was very reasonable. My youngest got her cheeseburger & papitas, my other daughter ordered fajitas mixtas & the rest of us got the chilé relleno burritos with green sauce. The meals for the four of cost $51. Which I feel is very reasonable price for what we got. The fajitas was a mixture of steak and shrimp with bell peppers and it came with you choice of flour or corn tortillas along with beans and rice. Our chilé relleno burritos were stuffed with this chicken broth rice, refried beans and of course the chilé relleno. The burrito was creamy with cheese and it was very flavorful. The green sauce on top was good just a little more lemon than I am used to but very flavorful. This place is definitely a cute spot to try out. It's better for a date night and if your looking for seafood. They offer seafood plates for $40 for 2 people. I have always wanted to try this place for many years since I live in Wilmington. I have always heard good things about Agua Verde so me and my family took a chance. I've got one word for this place in Spanish and that word is "Wakala!!" (translated in English to mean something really nasty or gross). I ordered the fajitas mixta (it's fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp) sounds good. My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail and in addition it also comes with scallops, octopus and fish. My oldest son had a kids meal. The service was nice at first but died after the initial help of one drink per person and no follow up when the food came. My fajitas were terrible, the shrimp was old! It tasted like spoiled rotten shrimp with a nasty taste. There was hardly any chicken or steak. The rice and beans were okay and the chips too but the fajitas come with no dress up like salsa or sour cream or guacamole. I did order the guacamole on the side which our waitress told us would be only $3.70. In the end they charged me $4.99 for a tiny bowl of guac. My wife's cocktail had the same nasty shrimp and she said it had almost no flavor at all, it was like basic tomatoe juice with water with very little tomatoes juice. The color of the cocktail juice was almost white and no matter how you added lemon, salt or tapatio there was nothing to redeem the horrible quality of the cocktail. My oldest sons meal was also gross, it only comes with two tiny little shrimp for $6.99. I don't know how they chalk that up as something worth 7 bucks, but maybe it was the rice and beans that are high quality. I will give this place one star because the place was clean and so was the bathrooms. But the service was really weak and the prices of the food was too high for the extremely poor quality. So for a cocktail and a very small portion plate of fajitas and a kids plate of two shrimp and one michelada (beer with chili and lemon and tomato juice) oh and the $5 guacamole it costed $59!! Man it was so bad! . I felt so terrible paying any money to this establishment for the food I ate. I felt bamboozled, I will not be back. read more

My girlfriend ordered the grilled tilapia and that was also very unseasoned/flavorless. Whoever oversees how these dishes are prepared needs to overhaul the recipes or something because flavorless dishes at a Mexican restaurant is unacceptable. My family and I went to eat here and it was just bad food. I ordered the enchiladas, my dad the shrimp fajitas and my sister something with shrimp and fries. Everything just tasted so bland. The beans just seemed like canned refried beans, the rice didn't taste like anything and was kinda hard, the chicken in my enchiladas just tasted like plain tortilla and the chicken was literally just boiled and that's it . We also got tamarindo and horchata to drink and the drinks were way too sweet. I typically like sweet too I have the biggest sweet tooth but this was way too much I can't imagine how much sugar is put in it. Today was a good day for something light and delicious, I decided to stop by aguas calientes with my mother. Walking in I noticed only a few patrons, there was a lot of open tables so we sat near the window. The waitress brought over some chips and salsa, salsa was bland and boring. I ordered a shrimp burrito that was not on the menu and my mom ordered a grilled fish plate. The $20.00 burrito was all rice, some beans, tomato pieces and a few shrimp. My mom's plate also consisted of the same exact rice and beans and a small size fish, they threw some dehydrated inedible slices of carrots and lettuce. It's hard to tell if they are decorations or a side salad. I had a cup of water and she had an horchata that was too sweet and had to dilute with water. Overall it was a real disappointment, if you want a delicious decent burrito you will not find it here. Unbelievable $20.00 for a small rice, bean and shrimp burrito!! We went to our once favorite Mexican restaurant in Wilmington. We ordered two burritos, one chopped beef one chili rellino we ordered salad too. We also had one extra sour cream. The salad is iceburg lettuce with a few pieces of cabbage and about half a raddish. The burritos came out nice and big. Upon opening the beef, we found it was 90% rice, maybe a teaspoon of beans and no more than an ounce of beef. I didn't order a rice burrito. I ordered shredded beef. The chili rellino was stuffef with so much cheese it would run out on my plate. Great for cheese lovers. The shock was the bill. It was 39.00 which was the burritos, salad and one side of creama. We had water to drink. We left a tip that brought it to 47.00. That is greed. Pure greed on the owners part. Our once loved has changed. Greed took over. I live in Long Beach and my neighborhood restaurant serves far better for half. We won't be going back. The last few times has been the same. We are done! read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! I've been coming here for almost 2 years now, and the customer service is always amazing. The waitresses are always friendly and happy to help. The food is always delicious and it's also a plus that they have handmade tortillas! During this whole COVID thing, they are very clean and have outdoor seating. The employees have face masks and the head gear to have their faces covered, I felt very comfortable and safe. I will continue to support this business. Not spicy at all and quite frankly pretty bland. The Mojarra we ordered up to share on the other hand was pretty tasty and the several Tv's around the restaurant were tuned in to the NFL game that was on so that was a plus. The salsa has good flavor and the chips are freshly made. The ceviche is so fresh and tastes great with the chips. The mojo de ajo had me licking the plate it was so good. The rice was cooked perfectly and the beans matched impeccably with the entire dish. The bacon wrapped shrimp is salty and great with the rice and beans as well.
