This place is pretty good overall. All orders are served in takeout containers. The price is a bit on the high side. Garlic shrimp - I was expecting it to taste a bit fresher. Stir-fried noodles - no complaints, very good! Crispy salmon with a side of mango salad - delicious and well balanced. Beef sticks - very flavorful. Thai iced tea - a bit too sweet for my taste. We couldn't finish it. The space itself is quite small, with only a couple of tables and benches. Customer service could also use some improvement

I've been to the Long Beach location and I am so happy A&J Seafood Shack is in San Pedro! I enjoyed my salt & pepper shrimp plate with a side of Khmer sausage. Savory and delicious- very satisfying! Service was friendly and welcoming. Interior is clean with plenty of seating and adequate parking. Highly recommend!

YUMMM the food was so good! The garlic shrimp was perfectly seasoned & the sauce was so good! The sandwich was freshly made & good as well. My friend ordered the fried salmon & said it was good too as it came with some papaya salad! Customer service was good & everything is freshly made to order. The vibe inside is casual, gives island vibes & super chill!

If the idea of Asian-inspired seafood, Cambodian, Cajun and comfort food tantalizes your taste buds, then you gots to check out A&J Seafood Shack. San Pedro is the family run restaurant's second location with the OG spot in the LBC. The San Pedro location is so new, it looked to me like they didn't have their outdoor signage up yet. Parking is limited and Gaffey St is a busy street, so takeout is recommended. This establishment is small like a shack with limited seating, but we arrived for an early dinner on a Saturday evening and were able to dine indoors. Service was both friendly and accommodating. I started with the Salt & Pepper Wings that were served crispy and piping hot just the way I like them, and I appreciated that they were sprinkled with jalapeños, onions and served with a side of pickled veggies. A sweet sauce was included but I opted for a chili sauce instead for dipping. I also ordered their Braised Pork Bowl which was loaded with tender pork belly, two halves of a soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and fried tofu. The entree was garnished with cucumbers and cilantro and served over a bed of rice. The entire meal was both flavorful and fulfilling! For my choice of beverage, I went with the Thai iced coffee which i found to be potent - so much so that I only had a few sips and will be finishing tomorrow. I read that many of their menu items are based on family recipes, so see for yourself why A&J is so popular!

Ordered online and picked up at A & J on Saturday, 6:30pm. Parked on the street right in front of restaurant. There were a lot of people eating in the establishment and they were busy. We ordered the Garlic Shrimp, Beef Sticks and Chicken egg rolls. All was so good. That chili oil they use on the Garlic Shrimp tastes so good on the rice also. I ordered the Beef Sticks, and the pickled veggies goes great with the meat. This is definitely a favorite. They serve a hefty portion of food for the price. Would definitely eat here again.

This place will be a new local gem! The seafood is exceptional for the price. We tried their stir fried noodles, garlic shrimp, salmon sandwich, egg rolls, fries, and Thai tea. And wow! Everything was delicious. My favorite was the salmon sandwich and the way it was cooked/smoked. I can't wait to come back and try more, like their lobster or crab! They also have a seafood boil bag, I'm not into mussels or sausages so I didn't get it. The service was excellent, our hostess was on top of what we needed as she also assisted others. It's very small, with only 2 tables and a bar-like table with a few chairs and no restrooms.

Salmon sandwich combo was huge and flavorful delicious. Love it.

Went to a ANJ seafood shack today I had the steak stick sandwich was so yummy. Great fusion flavors price was very reasonable especially for the quality and quantity. Roy had the salmon sandwich $11 for the steak sandwich and I think it was $15 for the salmon sandwich as a combo the fries have a yummy seasoning on it. We're definitely going back and service was not only pleasant. It was downright five star plus nice lady even called us to let us know the order was ready and she forgot to ask what drink we wanted so she could have it ready when we got there. Awesome food great quality good value wonderful nice customer service love it.

I've been a long time fan of their Long Beach spot for years!! I don't live close so I've taken many trips across town to grab some of their delicious food offerings! I was shocked when I turned the corner leaving Busy Bees and basically slid right on in to their new location in San Pedro! This spot is much larger than their Long Beach location! Hands down my favorite thing to order is the charbroiled oysters and garlic shrimp! Also don't sleep on the pickled cabbage! Thank me later!

Folks I follow have mentioned how good and unique this burger is, so have been trying to track one down for a while. Finally was able to do so via a pop up at the Ambitious Ales brewery in Bixby Knolls on a Sunday afternoon. I thought the burger was just OK, but I wonder if I got their best version this day. My wife and I were some of the first people to order, when Ambitious opened at noon. There were 3 food vendors here, all located in the large concrete beer garden in the back. Lemongrass had 3 folks working hard, and the front person was very friendly, ready to answer questions. Paid first, via CC on Square. Got a pager, which went off after 10 minutes or so, and picked up the food to bring back to the many picnic tables (hadn't filled up completely yet, though was getting there). My wife got the Kids Plain Jane ($11), I got the Khmer Smash burger (Single for $12), and order of fries ($6). This is one of the those burgers where you eat exactly as they prepare, which is what I did. The meat is supposedly mixed with kreoung, and the toppings are the typical pickled vegetable mix (papaya, carrots, cilantro) one gets on a Bahn mi. I really couldn't taste the lemongrass in the meat (my wife could though, saying it was very subtle), and toppings didn't punch me in the mouth like the pungent puckering premix should. It used a small plain jane smashable bun and the patty was generous, making it overflow. Ambitious Ales has a great selection of draft beers, so that helped a lot in enjoying my meal. Thus the rating (and my admitted affinity for very strongly pickled foods...which this was not).

It was a nice addition to the mini food court in Long Beach, but unfortunately, times got tough for them to the point where they had to pull the plug on their operations. I Luv Ur Buns was one of seven vendors at Steelcraft Long Beach on the southeast corner of Long Beach and Bixby. They had taken over the spot that used to be Waffle Love, and it was such a quick turnaround that on my first visit to Steelcraft Long Beach since the Waffle Love closure, I almost thought they seamlessly rebranded from waffles to bao buns lol. Signage was posted around the shipping container assigned to I Luv Ur Buns and even a signicade closer to Steelhead Coffee; the signs informed customers that they were closing and that the Sunday preceding Martin Luther King Jr Day would be their last day of business, which also happened to be the same day the LA Rams were playing in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs, so I almost thought Steelcraft would be jam-packed. Actually, no it wasn't even that busy, and there were several parking spots available just around Steelcraft. I definitely wanted to try a bao bun, but not a full dinner, so that left me with the two Global Flavors sections of the menu. One section was titled "Global Flavors on Bao Buns" where you basically get two bao buns. Don't think these bao buns are large by any means; I tried a couple at Sosogu sometime last year, and they're not that big either. They would have been the perfect size for a snack, but I was also curious about the other Global Flavors section, titled "Global Flavors with Rice or Fries". That section only has two line items: Mini Bowls and Loaded Fries. I didn't want fries, but when I asked about a Mini Bowl, I was informed that it was a deconstructed version of a bao bun with a small mound of rice. Wanting a little more variety, I went with the Bao Mi Mini Bowl. The menu did get a little confusing for me because I had noticed the (V), which usually stands for either vegan or vegetarian. However, they had several non-vegetarian items with (V), and that had me confused at first; like how is a bao bun with grilled pork belly vegetarian?? That's when the cashier, sporting a black nose ring, let me know that it can be ordered with a plant-based option, namely tofu. However, the cashier also mentioned the use of a shared fryer between their plant-based options and their regular options, so if you were strictly vegan, I'd think twice first. I asked how long the wait would be, and they estimated 10 minutes, which was pretty much spot on. I was given a pager that buzzed when my order was ready, and since there was plenty of space for me to eat, I was given a red tray with an "I Luv Ur Buns" sticker in the middle. The mini bowl was presented on a small tray, like one you'd use when you're giving out samples at a special event. I was also given a fork, which was another reason why I ordered a Mini Bowl over two bao buns as I wanted to keep my hands clean. Besides the grilled pork belly, the Bao Mi also comes with hoisin sauce, cucumber, jalapeno, onion, and cilantro. All of what I just mentioned tasted pretty good, though not necessarily as good as what I had at Sosogu last year. Then again, the Bao Mi is Vietnamese-style whereas Sosogu is Japanese, but between the two, which are the two cheapest options at $10, the Bao Mi was the most popular alongside their Korean-style, called Seoul on Fire. I'm pretty sure I would have liked Seoul on Fire better as it comes with Bulgogi beef, but the grilled pork belly was pretty good too. Just not as fatty as I would have liked. However, I didn't like their use of a wrapping paper between the tray and the food. That's because several grains of rice got stuck on the wrapping paper, and it was hard to pluck them off with my fork. As a result, it got kind of messy eating the mini bowl, and I almost thought I'd drop a piece of pork belly in the process! Luckily, I didn't, but I don't think that would be a problem with the bao buns since the bao bun from my mini bowl didn't stick to the wrapping paper at all. One thing I observed that I thought was kind of cool was witnessing the cashier hand deliver a tray of bao buns to an employee from Elio's Wood Fire Pizza, directly across from I Luv Ur Buns. I wouldn't say I love I Luv Ur Buns, but it made for a nice quick snack albeit a little pricey for a small bowl. I'm glad I gave them a try before they closed for good, and I made sure to bid them a proper adieu by returning the tray to them. They also had a small tray of I Luv Ur Buns stickers by their order window, so I made sure to pick up a couple as souvenirs. Thank you I Luv Ur Buns for serving the LBC for the past couple years, and sorry to see you go! Best wishes to Sonya, Mandy, and the rest of the team on their future endeavors.
