So this time I got the chicken flautas. Honestly, I'm not super picky when it comes to Mexican food. But wow. Genuinely. This place deserves all of the business. This is the freshest, best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Their food is so fresh. I was blown away. This is what orange rice is suppose to taste like. The beans are SO fresh. And omg.... Wow. I don't even want to tell anyone about this spot because these are the best flautas I have EVER had.... They are STUFFED with chicken... $10.40.... The wife found this place on Yelp. We arrived after reading reviews. Place is a bit dark inside but has plenty of tables. Larger area than expected. Greeted upon entering. My wife ordered to Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas and I ordered Carne Asada & 2 horchatas. Food came out within a reasonable time. 1st of all let me make it clear, this place is worth coming just for the handmade TORTILLAS. Delicious and hot of the grill. The Tostadas had plenty of shrimp and whatever else is in the ceviche. My wife noted that the shrimp was perfectly seasoned and her meal was great. I tried the beans and they had a great fresh flavor, a great compliment to the outstanding tortillas. The plate also had a very small salad and french fries. Both were good. The carne asada did not have the smokey flavor that I was expecting; however, the steak was very tasty and not rubbery. The only disappointment was the rice, it was dry and crunchy, possibly under a heat lamp all day. Regardless a very good meal overall. Oh, the salsa had a real good kick and the horchatas were just a bit sweet but nothing that plenty of ice couldn't fix. The interior of the business needs some upkeep but again, the food is the reason we came to try this restaurant. I really don't know how this place is still open. My first and last time that I visited I had ordered menudo. As the owner was putting my order together,I couldn't help but notice his unclean clothes and the uncleanliness way he was preparing my menudo. read more

Primo exudes the very notion of "hole-in-the-wall." Your typical Mexican restaurant with an American flair (by way of hamburgers and fries). The outside and inside are pretty disgusting, where you're smothered by stains, cracks, breaks, and other dysfunctional signs of disrepair that you'd expect to see in New Orleans right after Katrina. Inside, they'll store the lettuce next to the cooler storing the bottled sodas (I'm not sure if this is a health code violation, but it probably is). On a hot day, stay away from this place. They won't turn on the A/C. To be quite honest, I don't think they even own one. Also, on days where school is in session, the place can be overrun with packs of hormone-fueled teenagers attempting to satisfy their munchies cravings. The food is cheap and edible. I've only purchased the burgers and burritos. So far I haven't had food poisoning, so that's a good sign, right? read more

Place looks like it was taken straight out of Mexico. It was fully packed with Hispanic families. I take it as a good sign when ethnic restaurants are full of ethnic people. The staff was friendly. I paid $6.75 for a 3 taco platter with rice and beans. It came with a small diet soda. That is great value. The meat (carnitas and beef) was delicious and crispy. Staff is courteous and willing to add or remove anything from an order as you request it ( no salt on fries, add fried egg to hamburger.. Etc) . All at a decent price. The sad part is I live right down the street and first impression is, this place looks like a dump should be some good food though! I come here at least twice a week, everything I have tried has been AMAZING! The family that owns the place is very nice and always welcoming. My favorites here are the carne asada tacos, they have the best beans and rice. Awesome guacamole. And EXCELLENT soups. This has become one of my favorite places to eat in Wilmington. :) read more
