Honestly, Mariscos is my favorite place in all of Los Lunas. I live around the corner and convenience certainly is a plus but dang, every time I come here (which is like, twice a month), I enjoy the drinks and food so much. Things I liked: big bar area with tons of tvs and seating. A more intimate sit down area as well. Free chips and salsa with red and green. Quick and friendly service. I got the sea bass Vera Cruz style. I loved the char that came on the veggies, especially the mushrooms and carrots. The sea bass was awesome (my only complaint would have to be maybe a sere on the bass would have enriched the flavor) but the flavor in the sauce was delicious. You can definitely taste the White wine, so if you don't like the flavor of wine I would order it cooked another way. But the food was solid and the service was great. read more

This week, the waitress dropped the silverware on me, never brought me water, no refills on my drink I did get, was not even asked if I wanted one, a basket of chips with hardly any chips, forgot to bring the salsa, and the check wasn't correct. So, I did a call ahead order for some shrimp quesadillas. I checked out their website menu and they sounded pretty good to me. They're filled with Pico de Gallo, cheese and of course shrimp. They also come with chips and salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. I must say they're pretty tasty!... However-- I do have a couple small gripes. 1: The actual shrimp used are pretty small. That said, there are plenty of them in the quesadillas. 2: The quesadillas were pretty greasy, and soggy on the bottom. Perhaps this is due to the Styrofoam to-go case they came in. Who knows. I do have a suggestion tho...perhaps if the 2 layers were separated by a piece of tinfoil it would help minimize the sogginess. Overall I'd say they were pretty good, and I would certainly eat here again. Next time I will try something different. read more

Visited Moriscos. Is one of the places with outdoor patio. They had a wait time but they seated us fairly quickly. Staff are very friendly and kept it very sanitary after every guests meal. Food came out quickly. Had the combo of 2 fajita beef and shrimp. And my girlfriend had the same but with chicken and beef. Staff would check on us often to make sure we got what we needed and drinks filled. Overall we have a great experience. Food was very fulfilling. read more

As I've said before, I don't particularly like to write reviews of a place after only one visit, but it's also not every day that you stumble across one of the top 5 or so things you've ever eaten. I was driving around the area of town near Los Lunas NM , looking for Seafood Mexican food, when I caught the corner of my eye. I pulled into the parking lot hotel and decided walk over there , and to try it out based on the positive Yelp reviews. Well, let's just say that those positive reviews and scores were okay , not dead on. They mainly offer tortas topped with several different varieties of meat; I opted for the carnitas . Every aspect of the sandwich, including the small order of French fries that came on the side, was excellent. The meat was flavorful and tender, the bread was the perfect consistently and did not become mushy, and each half of the sandwich had a hearty slice of avocado on top. And I Shrimp tostadas also had a thick, creamy avocado sauce that had a surprising amount of spice to it . When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was nice and clean on the inside. The staff was friendly and greeted us upon my entrance. We ordered some adults drinks and showed our hotel key to get a free margarita and they were great. Our waitress card everyone of us . It didn't matter if you were 21 or 85 years old , you still get carded no matter what that's cool I guess . Overall, would I still recommend Mariscos Altamas , and do I still go? We really like the food and visit this restaurant almost every week. my husband like to have a margarita anfd I like their garlic shrimp.... Everytime we were their is Sunday afternoon and the bar area is busy and the service is slow but it can be understood, because they dont have enough serivicer. Yesterday we went there Sunday night at bar area, and it was not that busy and the servicer lady is very slow and ruld, after she gave us the food and there is not forks and knifes on the talble, but as soon as she put the food on the table and she was disappeared for at least 10 minutes, we had to sit there waiting for her to show up and bring forks to us so we can eat our food, when she brought the forks and kniftes to the table, she just thorw them to us.....then she is disappeared again.... We love this restaurant and just hope the owner can improve their service level. read more

Patio is nice & spacious BUT lots of moscas (flies)... bit annoying! Service was good & food was good! Got a carne asada plate with red ... comes with beans & rice. Very yummy & the red sauce is more tomato based with a bit of spice... really nice. Saw the Yelp reviews and thought this was a good choice for dinner as we were passing through town. Sat in the bar to feel the vibe of the place and were sat in a great booth to see the whole space. David our waiter made us feel at home and made some great recommendations on the ceviche and salmon entree. He also made sure we had some $$$ to tip the mariachi band that was playing for everyone. We asked about purchasing some of the beer glasses since they were unique and our son collects beer glasses. No issue here either. We were presented with 2 brand new ones to leave with. To start, we ordered a round of drinks- micheladas for two of us and the Mariscos lager for another. The size of drinks were great and the flavor of all three were fantastic. Next we ordered the Mariscos Fiesta platter thinking it would come with a small sampling of everything listed. WRONG! This could have easily been the meal for our party of four! Entree size chimichangas, nachos, shrimp, taquitos, AND a quesadilla. We were so impressed with how good all of the different items and couldn't wait to try our entrees! For our main courses we ordered the fish ceviche plate, carne asada tacos, a chicken chimichanga with red chile, fish tacos, and a kids chicken nuggets and quesadilla. The portions were huge and the quality was amazing. Authentic, flavorful, and downright delicious. I will say that I had seen pictures of Mariscos on Instagram and everything looked pretty awesome. Celebrated Mother's Day here since it's the only dine in mariscos we know of in los Lunas, and man very disappointed. Waiter was great, nice and friendly, but the food , wow very gross. I ordered a combo plate which had beans,rice,Chile relleno, and chicken enchilada. The beans was very salty, the rice had no flavor, the chicken in the enchilada tasted like fish, and the cheese inside the relleno tasted rotten! Very gross. I spit my food out in a napkin. The red Chile was more like water with red, it was super watered down and no flavor. I had also ordered an ocean water fish bowl, and it was super watered down also! My father got a mariscos caldo and the same thing. Watered down no flavor. All of our drinks were not good and the entire meal had no flavor and overall very gross. The mariscos on coors is %100 better then this place. Never coming here again. Rather make the drive to Albuquerque then eat here again. And we paid $130 for our meals. Such a waste ! read more

Welł, my wife and I worked up the courage to try it for ourselves. We have heard numerous good and bad word of mouth reviews, so tonight was the night. I was craving, and ordered carne asada tacos, my wife, the fish tacos. Without giving this place a horrible review, let's simply say, that even with a bowl of fresh jalapeños on the side, I still couldn't taste much. The food, including the jalapeños, were without flavor. As with previous reviews, the service was excellent.
