I ordered the seafood burrito for $170 mxn. The food arrived about 15 minutes later and consisted of a large burrito cut in half. The seafood inside consisted of octopus, shrimp and marlin. We tried dinner one night at Mariscos Cisneros. It was fine but I wouldn't rush back. The waiter led us to a table and gave us a couple of menus but didn't seem particularly interested in being there. For food we ordered the large mixed seafood cocktail and the special burrito which included shrimp, octopus, and marlin. They were both ok, nothing special. Prices were quite reasonable. Family Owned restaurant serving one of the best seafood in town. The restaurant is tucked away from the main and busy areas of the Malecon and Zona Romantica. Small and modest dining area with minimal decor. The main attraction here is the seafood. The shrimp and fish Ceviche is one of the best in town. Very generous portion. As part of our taco tour with Vallarta 101 taco tour we stopped here. Memo suggested we try the smoked Marlyn on flour tortilla. We also tried the taco with shrimp and octopus. The staff was friendly and the owner was very attentive and quick with his service. My mind was blown away with both tacos. The octopus was cooked to perfection and had great taste, but hands down my favorite that I'm still thinking about is the smoked Marlyn taco on flour tortilla. The smoked Marlyn had a taste similar to bacon but way better. We are planning to go back to try their other seafood options. read more

So, my wife and I did a food tour AND yes, it visited Mariscos Cisneros. Funny thing, we were the only people on the "tour" but that's another story...or not. Anyhow, we stopped in for a bite and enjoyed the bites and drink - Raicilla (a booze I've never had or heard of - who knew?!) Buzz activated, "Where am I?" A few glasses of water, back to the review... MC, a charming "authentic" feeling establishment with delicious food. Our tour guide Gio explained the restaurant and it's humble beginnings as a family owned food cart, the house-made sauces and alas, the assorted eats. I enjoyed it all so much, I told my wife, "If we are back in town this week, we have to come back!" Apparently, I enjoyed the raicilla so much, I left my backpack behind on my dining chair. Thankfully, the menu hander-outer chased me down the block and returned it to me. A few days later, we returned and lunched on soft shell crab tacos and a few other amazing bites. No Raicilla this time, but the "muy macho menu guy" remembered me - and handed me a menu again (a lousy waiter, but a decent guy, lol.) In all, I loved the spot and felt especially happy that a family built a successful business serving locals and gringos alike. Now, if I could figure out how to bottle their sauces and sell them, we'd all be happy. No way to bottle soft shell crab tacos, however. Yuck, that sounds gross, right? Best local seafood spot in Zona Romantica. Hands down. Quiet, unassuming, but if you take one of the culinary tours, apparently this is always one of the stops. The seafood soup/cioppino-esque entre was off the charts. Best thing by far, enough for two or sharing. The drinks were cold, the candlelight was a nice touch, and the service was wonderful. Fantastic restaurant in terms of service, food quality and prices. There's indoor seating and a sweet little back patio if you like to eat outdoors. We stumbled upon here after our usual go-to (Marisma) was unexpectedly closed. Wow! We tried the mixed seafood burrito (marlin, shrimp, pulpo/octopus), shrimp taco, fish taco and (after reading reviews suggesting it) the jalapeño popper taco. We ate outside as there was a nice breeze. First, a note on the service...we loved them. I'm not sure if it's a family business but it certainly feels like it. She made us feel right at home. They have three house sauces on the table - chili oil, creamy jalapeño and a spicy onion/ketchup sauce. She recommended mixing a little from all three and, YES, that is the best option. The burrito was phenomenal. Packed with seafood. I mean packed. No rice, just seafood and vegetables. The tacos were also very good. The jalapeño popper turned out hotter than I bargained for but it had great flavor, especially with their house sauces. This is our new go-to. They're closed on Tuesdays and serve lunch through early dinner. We're heading back again for more! read more

One of the most recommended places on the PV social media groups. I've been coming here for years. I even had my first date with my wife here. Last night was no different. We enjoyed the mariscada (seafood platter). It was great! Coconut shrimp, fried fish, octopus, pineapple mixed grill, and a slab of fresh tuna (we substituted for the "lobster"). We had the Stuffed Jalapeño Pepper taco at the stand in front of the indoor portion of this restaurant and it was absolutely incredible. The pepper was stuffed with octopus, shrimp, sea snails, and marlin, then battered and deep fried. Wrap that in a warm tortilla and you're good to go. I can't speak to the rest of the menu but based on this item, you should assume they know what they're doing. read more

Out of the way family owned seafood restaurant. Service is excellent and the prices are considerably lower than at the places in the bigger roads in Zona Romantico. It's not a fancy place at all but you will leave with a full tummy and some fun memories. read more

Simple little restaurant near a shopping area with local shops. The restaurant has inside seating along with about 7-8 tables. Just outside the door they also have a small food stand that has seating around the grill for a few people, as well as a couple of tables under a makeshift patio. The outdoor stand is a popular spot and was busy the entire time I was there. There was freshly made horchata (a 1 liter cup was approx $2 USD). We ordered plain & shrimp quesadillas, and fish and shrimp tacos. Everything tasted great and came with hot and Mike sauce, a side of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. Stop by for a bite to eat if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. read more

Came here twice and had the stuffed jalapeno taco. It's one big jalapeno that is skinned and deveined, and it has lost all strength of spicyness. Stuffed with some type of fish (maybe marlin) and served with 3 salsas that are all awesome. Something for everyone no matter the level of spice you prefer. Taco some with seafood appropriate toppings that I may not remember exactly what they were. Very tasty taco in my opinion. Decent bathrooms and a nice staff. Mariscos Cisneros is a twofer -- a restaurant and a taco stand. Same menu, though. The popular item here appears to be the shrimp. Tried the shrimp with garlic dish and was quite pleased. Served with lightly flavorited rice and gently buttered bread, the shrimp is a burst of flavor. You absolutely must love garlic in order to appreciate this dish. The tacos were OK. I was far more impressed with Garlapago down the street and around the corner when it came to the tacos. Service was polite, but not the most attentive. And you may find that musicians will make their way in to play a few songs, then ask for donations. Restaurant also has a tiny restroom in the courtyard, free of charge to use. read more

This restaurant specializes in seafood dishes, while operating a taco stand out front during the daytime. The taco stand was already closed for business when I arrived, so I sat inside the restaurant but was still allowed to order from the taco menu. I recommend getting the octopus tostada and the smoked marlin taco. They're BOMB, some of the best things I've eaten in PV so far. The regular fish taco was average. Service was good.
