This is one of the wonderful, very small places that serves excellent, quality, authentic Mexican food. The menu now only has fresh seafood, but meets and vegetarian items as well. I was searching out a new breakfast burrito spot and I drove to this one. Delicious. We tried one chorizo and one bacon. They have grilled onions, big chunks of bell peppers, potatoes, amazing tortillas with a slight crunch, etc. Tastes like quality ingredients. And make sure you ask for the red and green salsa. Truth be told, most veggie burritos are a completely half assed attempt to appease the burgeoning vegetarian population. This veggie burrito was none such. The seafood here is really fresh and their portions are big. Between 2 people, we had the "7 mares" seafood soup, the campechana (kinda like a cold seafood cocktail), and the fish filet veracruz. This is a small family owned restaurant, where the owner, who is also the cook, prepares the meals within the customers' view. Their seafood is fresh, and according to my Mexican boyfriend, the food is authentic. I'm partial to seafood, specifically shrimp, so I would recommend the shrimp cocktail or the "camarones ahogados," which is basically shrimp, sliced cucumbers, and red onion soaked in lemon. read more

Mariscos Corona is definitely a great hole in the wall restaurant that shouldn't be judged by its exterior. The interior is really small and intimate with no more 5 tables that seats 4 and one larger table for bigger parties. Service was short handed during my visit, but was still quick! Service is good. (Eventho there was no one in here) Salsa was quite good. But to pay $9 for a wet burrito when I'm quite positive they threw my burrito into the microwave to melt the cheese is kind of crazy. I don't know bout you but when I go out to eat some place I expect my food to all be cooked fresh. If I wanted something out of the microwave I would of went to fresh n easy but I hate the microwave. I love my food to have actual nutritional value. Also the cook came out from the stove and gave me quite an evil stare down. I don't know what your culture is but to me it's rude to stare me down while I am trying to eat your microwavable food. I ordered a vulve lavida cocktail and 1/2 dozen oysters and the oysters weren't fresh. They were the worst I've ever had. I had to return them and order the shrimp cocktail without oysters and only shrimp and octopus. 2* overall. The waitress very was nice and helpful. read more

Today I went there with my family, even tho I've moved to Bakersfield I am a loyal customer because of the great quality of the food. However today was the worst experience because of the waitress, I asked for a container and she gave me foil and a bag, I understand if maybe that's how they work. We also asked for a container for soup and she gave us a small cup. She could have told me if there was a charge for a container or not, i needed a container I would have paid the fee if it was necessary. Then we ran out of drinks and she never came around to see if we wanted a refill. The machine for drinks is available and open to the public and there is no signs saying that self serve isn't an option. When we went to pay we were going to inform her that we got ourselves a refill since she never came around in the store there was my family and two more gentlemen. There was four of us and we got two refills and she charged and extra one because we got a refill she said "there isn't self serve and there is no refills" "you can't do that" we go there because the chef is the best. She on the other hand has always provided very poor customer service if you see her AVOID her. She has brown hair and brown eyes on the heavier side. She brings this great restaurant from a 5 star to a two star. Definitely we went there to celebrate and came out with a bad experience. Not to mention we drove an HOUR. read more

I had read many reviews on this place and decided to try it out. This place has the worst food I have ever been served. The only thing good about the meal were the chips and salsa. I ordered a combo plate with chicken beans and rice. The beans were too salty the rice was cold the chicken was hard and not edible. We also ordered two different types of soups which tasted the same and nothing like what we ordered. I do not recommend this place. That was my first and last time. Now this is just my opinion someone else may have a different experience. I am leaving one star because it won't let me leave none. read more
