Always a pleasure coming here, this place is a gem. We come here once in a while and it had been a couple of months but this hit the spot. We were craving some shrimp boil and wings and decided to stop here for dinner. Our server was kind and went above and beyond. We ordered a pound of shrimp and bundled it with the corn, potato and sausage. We got it with the grabby sauce and it was super delicious. We all had the lemon pepper wings extra crispy, my husband had the loaded clam chowder not pictured it was too good. We also had rice, French baguettes to dip and kids Mac and cheese. Worst! Went there with my family. Waited over 40 mins. Nothing was served. Called the lady waiter to follow up then gave us glasses and served the beer and made an excuse that she was cleaning a clean glass. Followed up again and called the manager found out that the waiter fORGOT our order after 40 MInS!!!!!!!!!Not even sincerly apologized and asked us to leave! Don't come here they are discriminating disrespectful people and manager is not even sincere! We left with an empty tummy and disappointed! I want to warn Everyone don't Come to this place! Crabby crab is definitely in the running for best seafood boil restaurants in the valley. I've been coming here for years now and they never disappoint. We came last night for my gf's bday and everything was exceptional. Our server, Gabriel was awesome and really went all out to make our celebration special. I forgot the name of the combo we got but it was the one with king crab, snow crab and shrimp. We added sausage and it was more than enough for 2 people. If you've never been the space can be deceiving. There's lot of space and I've never had to wait long for seating. They have a cool bar setup too, so if you've never want to grab a light snack and a beer, this is your spot. read more

I was so excited to finally try this place because everything looked delicious and reasonably priced! Their prices per pound and combos are much cheaper than other seafood boil restaurants. In addition, the location is so close to where I work! My first bite was extremely salty, which I did not enjoy. I got the pound of peeled shrimp - lemon garlic flavor with medium spice. This was not as spicy as I thought it would but, but the lemon pepper was very over powering in flavor. I could not even finish my meal :( My parents got the green mussels, same flavor and spice level and they enjoyed it because the mussels were very meaty. We got the combo which included sausage, corn, and potato Cajun flavored and this was also very salty. There is plenty of parking on the street and behind the restaurant is a parking lot. Crabby Crab is hands down one of my favorite crab boil spots in the Valley. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and comes out fast exactly how you want it. And if anything's off, they're quick to fix it without any hassle, which speaks volumes about their customer service. The entire staff is friendly especially Ms. Selma and you can tell they work well together. There's a strong sense of teamwork and good vibes all around. I love going during happy hour pretty sure it runs seven days a week, and on weekends, I think Thursday or Friday through Sunday, it goes from 5 PM to close. The happy hour menu is solid, with great deals on appetizers, drinks, and a few other items that rotate every so often. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartender is always so warm and attentive, even when it's late and they're starting to clean up for the night. The location is also super convenient, but parking can be hit or miss. There's street parking in front and a small lot in the back, but if those are full, you can usually find a spot across the street by the grocery store. It was my first time at Crabby Crab, and unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Our server seemed uninterested and unengaged, which set a negative tone. Our order came out wrong, and when they brought the missing item, it was just tossed into the bowl not even a mixing utensil was provided. We didn't even eat it or take it home .We really tried to stay positive and go with the flow, but overall, it just felt like the service wasn't there. We reserved here for my son's birthday since he's a big fan of Boiling Crab and we were trying to find a place that could accommodate a large party and not wait too long. This place was perfect! They stored the ice cream cake we brought with us and took it out to thaw while we ate so it wasn't a rock after dinner. We were served quickly and had everything we needed including napkins, tools, bibs and gloves. And then they cleaned our table and brought out everything we needed for the cake. At first I questioned our decision because when we arrived most tables were empty but I think our timing was just early because they quickly filled up while we dined. I think the seasoning they use is as good or better than any other Cajun style seafood place. The only minus is that it's expensive, even compared to their competitors. We ordered the smallest combination (1 snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb shrimp, corn and potatoes) and ended up adding a 1lb of clams and 1.5 lbs of additional shrimp. Decided to check this spot out for dinner last night. Walking in around 7:30pm, the restaurant was not very busy. My husband I got seated right away. The host let us know if we wanted a paper copy of the menu we could ask, but we need scanning the QR code instead. We ordered a side of fried pickled chips, which actually were thin like chips. My husband said he liked how thin and seasoned they were. They were paired with two different sauces. One was a southwestern ranch style, the other regular ranch. I also had a bowl of clam chowder. We ordered two drinks, he had the draft beer and I ordered the Berrylicious Mojito. We ended ordering a baguette, since unfortunately they do not offer complimentary bread and garlic butter like most crab boil places do. For our final main entree we got the sampler, which was about $90, price not on menu. Honestly as flavorful as the sauce was, it could have used more potatoes and perhaps some sauce to make it a better experience. We enjoyed the taste, yet felt it was a bit overpriced for the lack of proteins and carbs provided. It would have been great to have had an extra baguette or two to soak the delicious garlic sauce that was left in our bowl. My hubby and i live in the area and we were craving cajun style sea food. We got there probably an hour before they closed, so they had already ran out of the king crab and i forgot what else. The Crabby Crab has been my local go-to Cajun seafood joint for years and it's just as delicious whether dine-in or takeout. If dining-in, parking isn't too bad as there's a small parking lot behind the restaurant or plenty of meters along Van Nuys Blvd. The customer service is stellar, the staff all get along and treat you like a regular. They check on you periodically and make sure you have the necessities to enjoy your seafood. Personally I love doing takeout because they also provide you with bibs and enough table paper to allow you to recreate the restaurant experience in your own home. Our orders came out pretty fast. It came in a stainless basin, unlike the usual places that it is bagged. The shrimps are big, (I am surprised) but lacking in flavor, we have to dip it in the sauce yet it wasn't enough. The corns aren't fresh too. They were over cooked so the taste is gone. Very generous with the rice portion though. It can serve 2 - 3 people. Sweet potato fries are delicious and tasty. Recommended. Our server isn't attentive also. We have to get her attention to give us a water refill. And to say the least that there were only 2 tables including us. They have a small private parking in the back as well as metered street parking. We will come back but not for a while. It can pretty hold a number of people. They gave a few strands of skinny legs to make up the 2lb weight but I've been in other places where the legs were thick even though there were only a few pieces. I've have lived in this neighborhood for two years and always wanted to try this place. So tonight was the night! We wanted to get king crab legs, and the crabby crab didn't have king crab legs, which I thought was odd. They advertised fresh watermelon aqua Fresca so we decided to order two of those, but they were out of those as well. I didn't want to get fried food so I decided to have the shrimp fettuccine.Per our servers suggestion. I wasn't overwhelmed by the service, but they were nice enough. A Disgusting and Incompetent Disaster - Avoid at All Costs! If I could give this restaurant a -1 rating, I would. This was, without a doubt, the single worst and most bizarre seafood experience of my life. For a bill of over $70, the only things that were remotely edible were the basket of shrimp, the crabcakes, and the lemonade. The rest was a masterclass in failure. Let's start with the most disgusting part. We ordered a pound of crawfish and were told they were frozen and out of season, which was fine. What wasn't fine was when, halfway through the pound, we pulled the head off a crawfish and black water spewed out onto our aprons. We did it again to another one, and the same foul liquid erupted. We were so repulsed we didn't dare eat another one. Next up: the two crabs. After opening the first one, we noticed the meat looked old and dry, a clear sign it was past its prime. When we got to the claws, we realized we had no crab crackers. We asked a passing server for some, and he nodded and disappeared, never to be seen again. After waiting ten minutes, our original server returned. When we asked him for crackers, he told us, "Sorry, we are only allowed 5 crab crackers each, and I'm all out." Stunned, I asked him what he expected us to do. He said he would "look around" and see if he could find one. Another ten minutes later, he returned with a single crab cracker for my wife and me to share. This is not just bad service; it's an insultingly incompetent policy. Management should either buy enough basic equipment to serve the food they sell or have the decency to inform customers before they order crab that they have no way for them to eat it. This experience was a complete failure of food quality, service, and basic restaurant management. The management responsible for such a ridiculous policy should be relieved of their duties immediately, and our money should be refunded. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

The service was top tier with super friendly staff making us feel welcomed; answering all our questions, making recommendations and simply showing genuine interest and appreciation for us being there. Jerry and Giovanna took such great care of us both at the bar and while we dined at our table. To start off the night we ordered a drink at the bar seeing as they had happy hour (On a Saturday night!). My husband ordered the Adios Sucka and I got the Southern Sweet tea. Both very delicious, and well balanced. From there we moved to a table where we could order our boil. We decided to do the sampler which included shrimp (we chose peeled), king crab legs, snow crab cluster, potatoes and corn. We also added Cajun sausage. We clearly were hungry. Love having this seafood boil spot on this side of the valley! Their sauces for the seafood boil are full of flavor. I get the shrimp, which has always been plump and delicious. I think it's neat they also put it in a bowl instead of a bag and offer a mini metal bucket to discard the seafood shells. My dad gets fish and chips or the catfish basket and enjoys it, so if seafood boil isn't your thing, these are great options too. In the few times I've been here, we have been seated quickly, which is a nice bonus. One night we had Jay as our server, who was super attentive, patient, and friendly!! They've got great happy hour options for both food and drinks, which I definitely need to explore next time. As for parking, there's a small lot behind the restaurant if you take the alley, or street parking, which doesn't seem to be too bad on Van Nuys.
