    crab legs in a bowl

Crabby crab is definitely in the running for best seafood boil restaurants in the valley. I've been coming here for years now and they never disappoint. We came last night for my gf's bday and everything was exceptional. Our server, Gabriel was awesome and really went all out to make our celebration special. I forgot the name of the combo we got but it was the one with king crab, snow crab and shrimp. We added sausage and it was more than enough for 2 people. If you've never been the space can be deceiving. There's lot of space and I've never had to wait long for seating. They have a cool bar setup too, so if you've never want to grab a light snack and a beer, this is your spot.

I was so excited to finally try this place because everything looked delicious and reasonably priced! Their prices per pound and combos are much cheaper than other seafood boil restaurants. In addition, the location is so close to where I work! My first bite was extremely salty, which I did not enjoy. I got the pound of peeled shrimp - lemon garlic flavor with medium spice. This was not as spicy as I thought it would but, but the lemon pepper was very over powering in flavor. I could not even finish my meal :( My parents got the green mussels, same flavor and spice level and they enjoyed it because the mussels were very meaty. We got the combo which included sausage, corn, and potato Cajun flavored and this was also very salty. There is plenty of parking on the street and behind the restaurant is a parking lot. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Crabby Crab is hands down one of my favorite crab boil spots in the Valley. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and comes out fast exactly how you want it. And if anything's off, they're quick to fix it without any hassle, which speaks volumes about their customer service. The entire staff is friendly especially Ms. Selma and you can tell they work well together. There's a strong sense of teamwork and good vibes all around. I love going during happy hour pretty sure it runs seven days a week, and on weekends, I think Thursday or Friday through Sunday, it goes from 5 PM to close. The happy hour menu is solid, with great deals on appetizers, drinks, and a few other items that rotate every so often. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartender is always so warm and attentive, even when it's late and they're starting to clean up for the night. The location is also super convenient, but parking can be hit or miss. There's street parking in front and a small lot in the back, but if those are full, you can usually find a spot across the street by the grocery store. I've had the best luck going after 6 or 7 PM.

It was my first time at Crabby Crab, and unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Our server seemed uninterested and unengaged, which set a negative tone. Our order came out wrong, and when they brought the missing item, it was just tossed into the bowl not even a mixing utensil was provided. We didn't even eat it or take it home .We really tried to stay positive and go with the flow, but overall, it just felt like the service wasn't there. Hoping others have a better experience, but sadly, this visit missed the mark for us.

We reserved here for my son's birthday since he's a big fan of Boiling Crab and we were trying to find a place that could accommodate a large party and not wait too long. This place was perfect! In fact I would argue that the flavors were richer than Boiling Crab. We got the big Medley combo, another platter and a few sides and it was all yummy. We were all full. The service was great! They stored the ice cream cake we brought with us and took it out to thaw while we ate so it wasn't a rock after dinner. We were served quickly and had everything we needed including napkins, tools, bibs and gloves. And then they cleaned our table and brought out everything we needed for the cake. At first I questioned our decision because when we arrived most tables were empty but I think our timing was just early because they quickly filled up while we dined. There were plenty of tvs around playing football to entertain you. Tables were generous booths to seat many at once. Also extra points in my book for the handwashing station separate from the restroom. Free parking at the back of the restaurant.

Great lunch! My husband enjoyed the crab, and I really liked the shrimp in garlic butter sauce. The drinks were good, and our waiter was helpful and attentive, he had great suggestions. The ambience is nice and clean. Convenient parking in the back. We'll be back!

Love this place with my whole heart I been eating here with my family since I was a kid and hands down best seafood boils in the valley the flavors are always right. The crabby way is the only way. It's a little pricey but worth it. I always get the muscles and the peeled shrimp 1lb each of and sausage potatoes and corn on the side. AMAZING. Try this place if ur looking for a good seafood boil spot Forsure. The fried pickles bomb asf and the calamari too I ordered for pickup and it was fire this time too. Yes 5 starts

Wow! Amazing. I have not had a great meal out since Covid. Normally every restaurant tastes like Cisco w a different decorator. Food was amazing, staff was amazing and cocktails were amazing. We started with the clam chowder which was better than we used to have as kids in Morro Bay. Fish and chips were the bomb and the cocktails were as great as everything else. Our server was Gabe and when he went on break the rest of the staff was just as awesome. We even had one of the owners shaking our cocktails. What a great evening. Thank you for making me not wish I just stayed at home and cooked for the first time since before 2020! I have never been to a restaurant and fought not to ask for seconds of everything because I knew the next course was on its way.

Great taste, expensive. This picture is ~$80 of food.

I had lunch here with my wife on Saturday. It's probably our 3rd or 4th time here. The decor is okay, nothing to write home about. The service was good. I love the food here. I think the seasoning they use is as good or better than any other Cajun style seafood place. The only minus is that it's expensive, even compared to their competitors. We ordered the smallest combination (1 snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb shrimp, corn and potatoes) and ended up adding a 1lb of clams and 1.5 lbs of additional shrimp. (flavor 5/5, cost 2/5) We also ordered the sweet potato fries. Again, it tasted good but the portion size is pretty small given it costs $9. Overall, with a pitcher of beer and tip, the lunch cost ~$170.

10/10 you can smell the flavor as soon as you walk through the door. Our server she was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. This is by far the best seafood boil place I've ever been to. My girls even liked it, they ate it for their first time.

Decided to check this spot out for dinner last night. Walking in around 7:30pm, the restaurant was not very busy. My husband I got seated right away. The host let us know if we wanted a paper copy of the menu we could ask, but we need scanning the QR code instead. We ordered a side of fried pickled chips, which actually were thin like chips. My husband said he liked how thin and seasoned they were. They were paired with two different sauces. One was a southwestern ranch style, the other regular ranch. I also had a bowl of clam chowder. We ordered two drinks, he had the draft beer and I ordered the Berrylicious Mojito. We ended ordering a baguette, since unfortunately they do not offer complimentary bread and garlic butter like most crab boil places do. For our final main entree we got the sampler, which was about $90, price not on menu. Honestly as flavorful as the sauce was, it could have used more potatoes and perhaps some sauce to make it a better experience. We enjoyed the taste, yet felt it was a bit overpriced for the lack of proteins and carbs provided. It would have been great to have had an extra baguette or two to soak the delicious garlic sauce that was left in our bowl. The waiters and host were attentive, but honestly said I would only have given five stars if there were some additions made to the crab boil options for the prices marketed. We've been to many crab boils, including those inland as this was, and yeah it could have been a little better.

My hubby and i live in the area and we were craving cajun style sea food. We got there probably an hour before they closed, so they had already ran out of the king crab and i forgot what else. No biggy we got the classic snow crab with peeled shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, and ramen. The ramen really hit the spot. And flavor was pretty good. The corn was a bit over cooked for my tasting but over all i give this place 7.5/10

What's the best way to reheat leftover crab?

Are there variety of dishes that contains no wheat/glutten?

My last couple crab clusters were tiny and nearly meatless. I frequent your business. Wondering If there's a shortage of some sort. Should I be concerned ordering tonight? Maybe you can recommend something other than the cluster please?

I order the Crawfish, Sausage and Potato Boil with Cajun Sauce. It is always delicious.

Can we order crab that is not spicy at all? My family prefers plain with butter to dip in. Is that possible?

Hi Khristine! Yes, you can request to have the seafood just steamed and butter on the side. Thanks for inquiring.

From a scale 1 - 10 how spicy is the flavor "spicy"?

Hi Jenny! Based upon our customers input, spicy would be close to 6-7. Hope this helps and see you soon!

How much does the crab go for?

The king crab goes for $45 a pound which is 3 legs

Is the assortment of seafood wild caught from here?

Some of it is. Somethings are being flown in like Maine Lobster.

I had to get use to sipping my margarita like a civilized person, rather than gulping it down. We started with the queso fundido. Too bad it cools so quickly and is so thick. It had a trio of salsas on top. And the chips are excellent. They brought us plenty of refills on chips. We ordered the salsa sampler. Three different salsas in tiny ramekins. All tasty, but usually Mexican restaurants give you salsa and chips for free. We had to spend $18. I had a chile rellano unlike any I have had before. A lot of black beans, a blistered chile and some cojita cheese sprinkled on top. I am used to a chile rellano filled with cheese. It was just okay. My husband had the carne aside. Basically a steak and roasted potatoes. Nice steak, but nothing Mexican about it. The potatoes were ordinary. Our guest ordered AGUACHILE DE CHAYOTE squash, pineapple aguachile, cilantro macho. She wanted a vegetarian option. This was a cold soup. She had no idea what she was getting. I guess we should have asked. All in all the menu is confusing. I have eaten Mexican food throughout LA and travelled extensively in Mexico, and this was all very new to me. They did tell us at the beginning that things were good to share. This would have been a good sharing dish with the chips. It was very unusual. The dessert flan was very tasty with pecans and a crispy churro like garish. We would have like a little more explanation on the menu of what we were ordering. Every item is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Daisy is a good place to go for a taste adventure, good margaritas and a hefty bill.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink before a movie, and the "vibe" was non-existent. They have four TVs at the bar, but the setup was bizarre, two were completely off and another was just frozen on a directory logo. The biggest issue, however, is the cleanliness--or lack thereof. The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. The Valley has so many actual dive bars with character and plenty of high-end spots for a great cocktail; I'm not sure where this place is trying to fit in. It feels like someone bought it and just stopped caring. We won't be back.

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)

We weren't checked on throughout the meal (again the restaurant was NOT crowded) and after completing our meal I realized the hostess deleted my reservation. For those who use OpenTable you know you get points for every completed reservation. I reached out privately to management first about my overall experience to hopefully rectify the issue. I wasn't looking for any incentives but that they at least train their wait staff better and resubmit my reservation in the system so I could both redeem my points and leave a review. It never happened. In an economy where everything is expensive just stepping outside I really value good service as well as good food. If the food is great but service is terrible I will never go back and this is that spot. Discrimination shows up in different ways and I will not patronize a business who blatantly does not show all of their customers the same level of respect and service. Posted pictures so you know I'm not a hater...food was great. Service was absolutely not it lol.

Stevie was so nice and smelled so good, me and my sister bought the perfume they were wearing. We will be back for sure!

There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.
