Stopped in for dinner in a Thursday night early about 430 pm. Not busy at all. Nice quiet atmosphere compared to weekends. Staff seemed understaffed. Not enough help working and we were waiting forever to get Togo containers and the check as we had to drive 2 1/2 hours after to get home. I don't really like their tortilla chips. They taste bagged to me. We had the Guac again and it's good but the chips just don't work for me. I had the crispy shrimp tacos. Good. I added salsa for more flavor. The boys had a burger and tacos kids meal. And Amber order 3 different tacos.

You really can't go wrong with any Mariscos Costa Alegre location, and this visit was no exception. This was my first time at this location, and I really liked it. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and even has a separate bar area, which gives it a nice layout. Plenty of parking too. Actually, they got my order wrong, but honestly... I didn't even care. What they brought me was delicious, I was too hungry to wait, and way too tired to send it back. It wasn't what I was craving, but you really can't complain when you're handed a fresh Coctel De Camaron. Just like the other locations, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, making for another great experience. Whether it's this location or another, Mariscos Costa Alegre continues to be a solid go-to spots for consistently good seafood. Oh and my husband's carne asada tacos were on point. I'll definitely be back.

They got the food, service and music for a great meal. When you walk in, there's a bar to the left and tables to the right. Music and lights are everywhere. The servers are fast and friendly, and the food is great. I got the classic tacos and my wife got the shrimp cocktail and it was delicious. Prices are reasonable, so if you are hungry for authentic Mexican food, this is the place.

Service was okay nothing special but the food was fireeee. We got what's in the pic and also shrimp empanadas, and a kids Mac n cheese plate. The portion sizing is good on everything we had plenty leftovers the red aguachiles are super spicy she told me they'd be but I didn't believe her but they are ! Still good tho I ate them up.

Went out for lunch today and it turned out to be a great spot for drinks too. I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. The menu had a nice variety to pick from. I started with the fish ceviche, a little dry, but fresh, and the portion was generous. Then I tried the molcajete with shrimp and chicken, which was absolutely delicious. It's on the pricier side, but since it was my first time trying it, totally worth it. The ambiance was clean and festive , overall a fun spot I'd definitely recommend for a date night or a group outing.

We are definitely trying this when we visit again.

Good and service were amazing! In particular, the octopus was fantastic! Cooked perfectly it was very garlicky and yummy. We did not order the Mexican sushi, and as soon as we saw it delivered to the table next to us, we were jealous! The food looked fantastic. Waitress was very friendly and efficient.

Have been here twice now, both times during their soft opening. Both times were pretty busy, but we were seated immediately without a reservation. The restaurant provides what I believe is caldo de camarón and tostadas while you look through the menu and wait for your food. It is pretty good. I tried their aguachile verde both times. I really enjoyed it the first time, but didn't like it as much the second time, unfortunately. We also tried their camarones and pulpo al mojo ajo. Everything was delicious! We really enjoyed their rice and side pasta salad. It is located in an area with plenty of parking and they have a huge selection. Something for everyone!

Mariscos Costa Alegre is always a great choice when deciding where to eat. All their locations are pretty consistent with menu, food prep and presentation, and drinks. The only difference I found was that the Gilroy location has an actual bar with seating. Friday night date night and this was at the top of the list as we have been wanting to try this new location since it opened. Driving up and we knew there was going to be a wait as we saw a crowd of people waiting outside. Walked in and we're quoted a 15 minute wait for a table for two. Walked over to the bar which is open seating and decided to sit at the bar to avoid the wait. Set at the bar, looked over the menu and ordered some drinks, an appetizer and some entrées. DRINKS EL MALIBU $15.00 Blended mango, chamoy, malibu rum, curaco. Drink consisted of puréed mango at the top and Malibu, rum and caraco at the base with Chamoy and Taheen at the rim. This drink was very pretty with a nice presentation. However, once you mixed it, it looked like mud, lol. This drink was fruity refreshing and just the right amount of liquor. I would have this again. COSTA ALEGRE $15.00 Coconut Rum, Midori Liqueur, Lamon Juice, House Syrup. This drink was very refreshing didn't get so much of the coconut taste however it did taste very good and it wasn't too heavy on the liquor. It was so good that we ordered two. I would order this one again. CIELITO TROPICAL $15.00 Tequlla, Pama Liquour, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice. This drink was heavy on the liquor, not quite my taste. However, the hubby did like it. APPETIZERS Costa Alegre Shrimp Ordered some appetizer shrimp which came in a red sauce that was very spicy. The sauce had very good flavor and it complimented the shrimp very well. I couldn't get enough of them. They were so good and I loved that they were peel and I didn't have to peel them and have all the red sauce on my fingers, lol. Not sure if this is the name but I think they were the Costa Alegre shrimp. FOOD FILETE DE PESCADO $19.00 Grilled bass filet with a side of rice, macaroni, salad, green salad, and fresh handmade tortillas. This entrée was a good size and the tortillas in my opinion were the best part. TACOS GOBERNADOR $18.00 3 crispy shrimp tacos with mozzarella cheese, avocado, lettuce, pico de gallo, and chipotle mayo. Tacos were good and I like that they were crispy tacos however, I wish the whole tortilla was crispy versus just the edges. Added a little hot sauce and a complimented the taco very well. I definitely see myself returning for the drinks, the food and the ambience.

Came in for a quick drink before closing time. Raul at the bar took care of us with some great mixed drinks and a complimentary consomé-tostada bar snack. The drinks were awesome and the broth was delicious. We will definitely be returning to eat and have another drink here soon.

Proven theory: When hungover, spicy Mariscos will save you. I was in the area and looked up restaurants near by to help cure us from our post NYE hangover and Mariscos Costa Alegre popped up. We were able to find parking relatively quick. When we arrived, there was a good amount of people, we had a short wait to sit indoors. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table and looked over the menu. Once we were sat they started us off with a warm seafood sipping broth, perfect for the weather and perfect to settle our stomachs after a night of drinking. To order, there's options for everyone's tastebuds, seafood lover or not you'll find something for you. There's your traditional marisco dishes, sushi, tacos, pozole, pastas and more. I was overwhelmed with options but stuck to what I know, we ordered a few plates to share, the fried fish, ceviche mixto tower and the don cuca shrimp. Everything was so incredibly fresh, flavorful and SPICY. Like, really spicy. I was sweating by the time we finished. I was cured of my hangover within the hour. If you love seafood and don't mind alot of spice, this spot is a must try. As we were leaving we noticed the line out the door, we arrived right before the lunch rush hit. I could see why this place is so popular. It'll be rare that I'll find myself in this area again, but if I ever am, Marsicos Costa Alegre is a must do. 10/10. This place can cure any hangover.

Okay I've been here a few times now & I love it more each time. This is the PERFECT place to enjoy mariachi on Sunday. They also do an amazing job making you feel very special on your birthday! The bartenders, Raul, Cassandra & Ana are super attentive & efficient. I really enjoyed when Raul started singing along with the Mariachj it is such a cool fun environment lots of laughs . All of The food is so amazing. I had the fajitas trio sooooooo yummy!! I will definitely have to go back on karaoke night

The kiddo went off to camp today. Yay! Momma & Daddy need a break & so we went off & had lunch after church at Mariscos Costa Alegre. The place looks great! So much more so than when it was a Chili's. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive & our food came out fast. I ended up getting the Fajitas Trio & they were delicious. You get Shrimp, Chicken & Steak w/grilled veggies, rice & creamy refried beans. I asked for corn tortillas & ended up getting flour. I didn't complain. But, someone in the future might. The hubs got the carnitas mixtas & loved every bite. The tortillas tasted fresh & homemade. I ordered a cocktail as well (the Costa Alegre) & it was good. Over all... it was an outstanding lunch. They serve tostada rounds instead of chips w/a spicy (almost consume). I wish they had chips instead. However, this was my 1st time here & I can't wait to come back.

We decided to eat at Ninja Sushi since we ate there once a long time ago probably like 14 years ago. We arrived there on a Saturday late afternoon for a late lunch . The sushi restaurant is located off of 1st street in an older plaza in Gilroy. Nob Hills is in the same plaza. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot out front. Ninja Sushi has clean sleek modern decor. The restaurant is divided into two spacious rooms. In the larger room it's family friendly where the sushi bar, tables, and booths are at for dine in. The other room consists of the full bar with plenty of high chairs. Both rooms look inviting. We ordered the Wonderful sushi roll, two sake nigiri, steamed gyoza, Garlic roll, Star roll, large hazy IPA beer and a glass of Chardonnay. Everything was tasty but nothing special. The Wonderful was flavorful and I enjoyed the little scallops. The gyoza was steamed which made it taste more succulent. Star roll was scrumptious with every bite. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Ninja Sushi. The staff were nice and accommodating. There was a local favorite vibe going on. My one huge gripe though I had was the price point particularly the bento boxes and the special rolls were more pricier than I expected. Since the restaurant is located in Gilroy I expected the price point to be much more fair and on par with the sushi restaurants in Morgan Hill. It's been awhile since the last time we were there, not sure when we will be back again.

The owners are 2 lovely sisters who are also the only chefs behind the sushi bar. The restaurant was clean and wholesome. We ordered salmon nigiri, baked scallop rolls, salmon avocado hand roll, crazy monkey roll, sunrise roll, spicy salmon roll and a glass of Chardonnay. It was quite a wait for the sushi but it was worth it. Everything was authentic and delicious. My favorite rolls were the baked scallop roll and crazy monkey roll. There's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but no one came out to seat us and a group of people walked past us to go inside, were sat right away. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out. All in all I would not come back unless it was out of convenience due to the location. The food and drinks have a nice presentation, but the taste of everything wasn't there for me. Although our server was really nice and my friend and I were busy chatting, the service was slow.

I got to be honest, it wasn't that great! I'm not saying I'm a ramen connoisseur but I've been to many ramen places including in Japan and this one was fair at best. I ordered the shoyu ramen, added an egg for an extra charge. I didn't like that the chashu was served on the side and clearly was cold along with corn, bamboo shoots and shitake mushroom. The egg wasn't even seasoned and was just a boring soft boiled egg. Nothing screamed authentic . For the ramen- I give 3 stars (will likely not come here for ramen) The garlic edamame was fair. Nothing special. 3 stars The unagi was $4 each and ordered 2. That was pretty good. 5 stars Service- it was one waiter who doesn't fit the Japanese vibe. He liked to say "Hell yah" so if you are a local and frequent here, you know who it is. He forgot our straws for our soda til at the end and handed it later with his hand. No paper on the straws. Final Thoughts: 2.50/5…read more My parents heard about this place and they wanted to try it. Definitely been a long time since we went to a buffet. This family really does not consume a lot of food, so sometimes going to a buffet really isn't the most idea when you're trying to get your moneys worth with quality and quantity. Location for here is somewhat farther than other places that we usually go to. We did finally get the opportunity for all of us to go, so it happened. Will round to be 3 star for today. Food: 1. Sushi bar (Simple sushi rolls with imitation crab, salmon, avocado, seaweed salad, ?tofu skin) Their selections of sushi are quite limited. Honestly, it felt like the same type of roll with just one item differing. Not even really sure if these are actual types of sushi rolls like at other restaurants. They did look slightly haphazardly put together, but overall rolls are fine and nicely plated on the larger plate to get. Heft fillings for most of them, which I appreciate. 2. Seafood Options (stir fried shrimp, braised mushrooms, mussels with cheese, clams) Most of these items felt like they were frozen and then reheated verses fresh. The assembly of these dishes seem simple enough, so they continuously refilled these. Some were steamed perhaps like the clams, others were baked maybe like the muscles. The texture is a lot more "rubbery" and difficult to remove the meat from the shell. Flavor was just alright for most of these options. 3. Classic food choices (fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, eggrolls, broccoli beef, French fries, pizza, ribs) These are items are nostalgic for me if anything. Also feels like something I can cook from a bag or even get at Panda Express. Honey walnut shrimp was alright. It felt super rich and oily with the amount of mayonnaise. Not necessarily a complaint because I really like that dish, but I could only have a few of them. Orange chicken was also quite good and nostalgic for me. 4. Desserts (?Mousse cake, cream puffs, coconut macaron, soft serve, palmiers cookies) Honestly, I love desserts and sweets, but there was something about these items that weren't enticing at the time. Maybe because I was really full already from the other foods. The cake felt a little bit dry. Seems like something we can get in bulk somewhere and not necessarily freshly made. Soft serve was almost like this sweet water with just a bit of milk in it, which was interesting. 5. Fruits (Cantaloupe, canned lychee, oranges, pineapple) Very small selection of fruits here. Not too big of a fan of canned fruits, but it was something that they had. The cantaloupe was the only fruit that I could really "enjoy" because it was fresh and better looking than the other options. My parents liked the oranges, as well. Some nice vitamin C for them after the big meal. Labeling: Nothing Labeled None of their items are labeled, so just be sure y'all are careful of food allergies or intolerances. --------- Quality: As expected for the price Their quality is ok??? Ish??? It's what I expected for the price. A lot of the foods appear frozen and then reheated or cooked. Sushi was rolled on the spot and refilled. Some foods felt like they were just sitting there under a warmer. For the seafood, definitely felt like from the freezer and not fresh. You can see this in the clams because they were really stuck onto their shell and absolutely would not come out cleanly. Texture is a little more chewy. Price: Affordable for the Buffet If you want affordable and all you can eat, this is the place to go. One of the reasons why my parents want to go here is because of the price. This place is in Gilroy, so a little farther away from where we are, but we still wanted to try it. Prices are fully on the rise. For an adult, it will be $18.99 now. There are discounted pries for kiddos between 2 and 11 years of age. Senior citizens of age 65 and older will also get a $1 off discount. Very sweet and totally works for us. Service: Fast Not sure how crowded this place gets, but we were seated immediately after coming in. I didn't see how busy it was outside, but most, if not all of the seats were filled at one point. They took our drink order and then we were free to go get food afterwards. There's always a trash plate and they took those away pretty quicky. Ambiance: Dim lit Interior was quite dark and dim lit. The area where the foods were was really warm and this might be nicer on a cold winter day versus summer. The space actually looks quite small for something of a buffet style. Perhaps there aren't too many options, but it/s definitely a nice small buffet to go to for a change of taste once in a blue moon. Location/Parking: Spacious area This area is very spacious and located where the South Valley Plaza Shopping Center is. It is within kind of the side corner of this plaza. Highly unlikely there will be a concern with parking because of how large the area is.
