Always come here for the carne asada tacos. Have tried it many times and they always taste good.

I forgot my lunch today and needed to make a stop at jewel. This spot happens to be across the street so I decided I'll be having Mexican for lunch! I ordered a steak burrito and an al pastor taco to go. The woman working was super friendly and helpful when I asked about their menu items. Their al pastor isn't quite like what I'm used to, but it's actually pretty tasty. It doesn't come off a spit, but it's got a nice marinade and is plump and juicy. The steak burrito was pretty good too, although it's a tad bit smaller than other places I've tried. The meat was tender and in good size chunks. For the price and quality, this place is definitely worth a try. Plenty of parking and the service is great!

Usually happy with my burrito I get from here but today decided to try gorditas...they are more like a sweet pancake bread with the ingredients mixed into the batter. Eh..not what I was expecting but not horrible. But what is this? I ordered 3 gorditas. They each come with a side of a cabbage salad...and I was given a baggie of it??

I hosted a UYE here yesterday and the food is fantastic! *pats self on back* I didn't know what to expect (no menu online and only a couple reviews) and, to tell you the truth, my expectations were low. If anything, I thought it might be divey. I was pleasantly surprised to find it's casual without compromising the cuisine. Think of it as somewhere between a fast food taqueria and a nicer sit-down restaurant. I wanted to try the whole enchilada, so our table ordered up appetizers, entrées, drinks and dessert. They bring out complimentary Chips & Salsa. The chips are fried, so they are warm and flaky without losing crunch. The salsa has chunks of veggies but the sauce is still smooth, and it's not too spicy for my Minnesotan heat tolerance. We also got the Guacamole Con Chips. It was so tasty that we ordered up another round. I went with the 3 Taco Dinner and got the Lomo (with chipotle sauce), Lengua, and Pastor. All of them came with onions and cilantro and I added sour cream, cheese and avocado. It's accompanied by rice and beans, both of which are prepared well, so they aren't dry and have a lot of flavor. The Lomo had a really good taste but the sauce was slightly spicier than I cared for (that means it's probably OK for most people) and the meat was chewy. The Lengua was a little dry but had good flavor (second best I've had after La Placita). The Pastor is very tender and tasty, so I think they cooked it with pineapple but I didn't see any pineapple chunks with the meat and I think that would have made it even better. Still, it's really, really good and was my favorite taco of the three. My dining companions report that the chicken burrito is great. The chicken was tender and you get a lot of fillings for about $6. Mariscos El Amigo #3 has a bar and I couldn't leave without trying a Margarita. It's solid. I'm pretty sure they are using a standard sour mix. It was not the best I've had, but it was far from the worst. This will do in a pinch if you're craving a Margarita and I really liked it with my meal. It's really strong, too. Service was good. We were greeted when we arrived and told to grab a seat wherever we wanted. Our waitress was prompt with drink orders and took our food order on the second stop at our table. When they were unsure if I wanted all the toppings I had ordered on all of the tacos, they came out and asked for clarification instead of just slapping it together and hoping they got it right. I very much appreciated that. The only complaint is that we were left hanging at the end. It got a little bit busier, but we finished the flan and waited and waited for the check. After a good 15 minutes or more, we were unsure if we'd get it at all or needed to pay at the counter, so we got up and went over to the exit and paid there. 1 complimentary order of Chips & Salsa, 2 orders of Guacamole Con Chips, 2 Chicken Burritos, 3 Tacos with Beans & Rice, 1 Margarita and 1 Flan came to a grand total of about $38 before tip. I'll definitely be back!

They added an enclosed outdoor seating area, Thats lets you enjoy the breeze or sun, but protects you from the rain. It used to be a tent, so this is definitely nicer. My wife and I were seated immediately. The server quickly brought us water and garlic bread. I really like that they give you 5 fairly big pieces of garlic bread for only two people. Nice touch. We were not in a hurry and couldn't decide what we wanted so we started with the calamari salad. $29, but it's huge and chock full of those calamari guys. Lettuce is always crisp and has everything I like in it (olives, eggs, carrots, artichoke, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and romaine lettuce). We were almost full just from the salad alone. I ordered a grouper sandwich (not fried), and my lovely wife ordered the Scottish salmon plate, which comes with potatoes and grilled vegetables. My sandwich came with coleslaw and fresh cut fries. They switched to fresh cut since my last visit, and this was an upgrade. My sandwich was great, and huge too. Could not finish it. Wife's meal was a humongous slab of salmon. The veggies now come on a smaller plate, but that's okay, given the size of the fish. Service was a tad slow, but like I said, we weren't in any hurry. Total tab was $100, with tax and that pesky 3% service fee. I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. It's not a place I can go every week, but when I can splurge, and have a taste for fresh seafood, this is the best around.

The prices are pretty reasonable and the minimum order for delivery is manageable. I was quite impressed with the young lady who answered my call when I inquired about setting up a wholesale account with them. She sent the price list, customer forms and promptly forwarded our information to a salesperson. Been a customer for a few months and gone to Fortune Fish' Seafood Show at Navy Pier. The Show was impressive and showed the range of products available. I was very excited about the possibility of including a lot of products on our next menu. Turns out this was the high point of our experience with Fortune Fish. It's been downhill ever since. It started off well ... We needed to get some product in about a week for an event, no time to lose. So instead of Fortune's salesperson coming over to drop off some samples, they sent the local representative from the product manufacturer instead. She called ahead asking us what we'd like to sample, came over and cooked it all off in our kitchen. The product was well received so we placed an order. A couple of weeks later, the salesperson from Fortune finally gets to our kitchen to give us an overview of the product line and to bring us samples of fresh and frozen fish. The super fresh salmon filet he brought was an especially welcome staff lunch that day. The rest of the products were good too so we made plans to use them in a new menu. Over the course of the next few weeks, we placed several orders and the deliveries have been generally hit or miss. Lately, it's been more misses than hits. Especially frustrating are the mispicks -- we order something and they send us the wrong stuff. Then when it's returned it takes FOREVER to get a credit. When we have a busy operation to run, we expect our vendors to be on the ball and to not create more work for us. A simple apology and follow up goes a long way and so far we haven't gotten either from Fortune.

We started with a mango margarita -- I tried it on the rocks and blended -- and both were refreshing without being too sweet & had the right amount of liquor. My boyfriend ordered a michelada and enjoyed it a lot. We had plenty of shots throughout the night as we watched the game and chatted. For appetizers, I got the cold shrimp and octopus cocktail along with half a dozen oysters. The oysters were so fresh that we ended up ordering another half dozen. For our entrée, we shared the Chapuzón, which came with cooked shrimp, octopus, and oysters in a flavorful house sauce that paired really well with everything. The sauce is so addicting, we ordered some rice to enjoy it some more. We finished with a flan that wasn't the typical style you see everywhere, but it tasted really good and was a nice way to end the meal. Danny, the owner, was very welcoming and attentive the entire time. The service was great, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.
