The food is delicious, I only have tried cocktails: shrimp and "Levanta Muertos" both pretty good at a decent price. Also their Micheladas are tasty. The place's ambiance is quite "spicy" , the music , the DJ. Really cool. The service is also good, taking into consideration that I went a Sunday afternoon. Where do I begin. I came to this place to try the Micheloca and shrimp and octopus cocktail. I should have known as soon as I walked in. The place was hot and and 2 customers inside and the waitress didn't give good customer service. So I received my order and got rotten pieces of imitation crab in my Micheloca and I let the waitress know and she went to the back to let the cook or owner know about it . No one apologized about the rotten imitation crab. I told her to check to make sure they have their food stored at the appropriate temperature for cold food. Or maybe they just have food sitting out for long periods of time. Anyways I felt disgusting and I did contact the health department. Will definitely not be coming back. 7/25/24 I was contacted by the health department regarding major violations. I hope they do get everything in order and ready for their next inspection. This place never lets me down. I have my main mariscos spots and really only come here for their micheladas. It's a bonus that they have decent civiche and cocktails. Although if I had to pick, id say go with the campechana cocktail. Its only one size, and its a big one! One thing that sets this cocktail apart from the rest is that the put chunks/slices of real coconut inside. Now you might think coconut and a tomato based liquid dont match. Just had an amazing dinner at Mariscos El Camaron Loco. We used to live in LA and have had a hard time finding a good Mariscos place in Riverside. We are happy to say we found ours here!! The vibe is fun, with music and local sports on TV. The menu includes a wide variety of items, including many different styles/preparations of ceviche, shrimp, fish, and meat. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with menus and a bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and unique, with a great flavor. We ate all the chips & salsa, almost immediately, haha! Lots of different Mexican beer selections, we had corona & a massive Michelada. We ordered Camarones a la Diabla (spicy sauce), Filet of Pescado Zarandeado (grilled with butter) & Shrimp Ceviche. The food was AMAZING. Everything was super fresh, including the handmade tortillas. The Pescado Zarandeado was definitely my favorite as it came with grilled onions and peppers. Both plates came with rice and beans, but not your regular rice and beans. The beans were super creamy/cheesy and the rice buttery. The portions were huge so we could have probably shared a plate. To be honest, it's incredibly easy to find great, authentic Mexican food in Riverside, at least to my taste buds. This is yet another one of those places, with a particular emphasis on seafood. I normally wouldn't rate a place without trying it multiple times, but since nobody else has reviewed it, I felt like it deserves a Yelp page! My wife and I showed up on a Monday evening and there was one other couple in the brightly lit place. There were 4 people who were either wait staff or chefs or maybe just relatives of store people, all women, and they were very friendly. Service was quick and they brought us a bowl of chips and green salsa right away. Chips are always tasty but this salsa was slightly different from the usual, and very tasty. Highly recommended. Given the restaurant name, we ordered a shrimp burrito, which was a surprisingly expensive, and a shrimp entree whose name I'm forgetting. The list of shrimp dishes is expansive, and that's in addition to another list of fish dishes. I ordered one of the house specials (it was the 4th from the bottom---camarones ________). The shrimp burrito was quite hardy, and had more ingredients than your run-of-the-mill burrito, and perhaps more exotic ones. Very tasty and despite not being the largest burrito I've ever seen, would be more than sufficient for a meal and a half to two meals. My shrimp dish was even tastier, with flavors that were slightly reminiscent of shrimp scampi. The rice and beans were also good, and there was a tiny side salad wedged onto the plate. A few tortillas finished it off. A generous portion that I couldn't even finish half of. Maybe we had too many chips... Anyway, give a try if you're in the area.
