So disappointed been coming here for a while now since it first opened. Had problems here and there but the food was great so choose to ignore. As of recent times things have not been up to par. Just ordered my normal ordered never had a problem with my gyozas. First time where the meant isn't cooked all the way and tastes rancid. Idk if it's old food or what but yall be safe and check everything. Then I called and the girl on the phone wasn't letting me speak. Said she has never had a problem with gyozas with other customers. Literally waited more than 30 minutes for the food for it to be raw. Used to recommend people this place but not any more. One bad experience / interactions leaves a bad taste in ur mouth quite literally this time. Don't come here it isn't what it used to be. Very very disappointing

okay - I've read the reviews here. And the negative ones seem to be when you eat at the restaurant. Well, I've ordered ramen from this place about 4x and NEVER HAD any issues. I provided a review in Door Dash. I've tried the broths - spicy, not spicy - and they are rich. When they arrive via delivery, the noodles are at the top in a different container. The broth is below the noodles. It always arrive steaming hot. Flavorful - and they are generous with their pork belly. The tonkotsu was superb and again, maybe I've been lucky but my noodles are always fresh. I know because I order FRESH RAMEN and never ever use those instant noodles. Bottom line, the broth, ramen, meats / vegetables are flavorful at Kotsu Ramen. PLUS i get a beautiful bag that I can use for groceries or when I bring lunch from home.

There is definitely better Ramen in Riverside. The noodles aren't fresh, the broth tastes like oil and the chicken meatballs are dry and overcooked. The eggs are overdone. The gyozas aren't fried enough and are flavorless. The pork was good. The employee at the counter was nice. The place is clean, at least. Not much else to say about it.

Went here because I was craving some ramen. I was very disappointed. The noodles were tasteless the broth was bland and the pork was so fatty. I got hardly any meat. Will not be going back and I do not recommend this location.

Ramen Review Stopped in for lunch and ordered the spicy ramen -- and it definitely hit the spot. The broth had good depth and spice without being overpowering, and the sesame seeds added a nice balance. The noodles were cooked just right, and the pork had that perfect texture. Service was quick and friendly, and they even brought out a chilled water carafe, which was a nice touch. The place has a modern, relaxed vibe -- great for a solo meal or quick bite between errands. Overall: 4/5 -- solid ramen, flavorful broth, and good presentation. I'd come back to try another bowl next time.

The ramen is delicious. Wow!!! The meat was juicy. The broth was flavorful. The beer hit the spot on a hot day

Mixed review because the food was outstanding! My first time here when I walked in I thought it was maybe not open. There was nobody in the restaurant. I sat for five minutes before the person walked back from Starbucks getting their order. The person in the back preparing food didn't even look out to say anything. I was getting ready to leave when the girl walked in to take our order did not speak very good English first time here I wanted her to explain how it works. She couldn't half of the tables in the restaurant had dirty food on them and they were not cleaned while we were there having lunch. I'm assuming they do a lot of takeout orders because their customer service is seriously lacking

It was my first time trying true ramen, not instant ramen. I fell in love!!!!! Was more expensive than I thought it would be, but was worth it, to an extent. Was our servers first day working there as well and was very helpful on the topics she knew about. Restaurant was clean, though not perfect, but suitable for an establishment A grade.

Everytime we visit, we always leave with satisfied bellies and everyone had a great time. But not at the last time we visited. Not sure if it was a one off or what. The guy that was behind the counter was so rude, no customer service at all. Every time we ask him a question, he keeps saying 'no'. No explanation or any kind of gesture to attempt to be friendly. The whole experience was off-putting. I think Kotsu should rethink who they station at the front or retrain staff on the basics of customer service.

2 star on the strength of the food... but don't think I'm going to come to your restaurant when there's Kaz and Sakura on either side of you that has BETTER food and have the audacity to tell me I better "eat quickly" since you're closing 30 minutes before your posted hours, then serve people AFTER me. Bet you won't have to kick me out twice.

No one explained that the restaurant was self seating, which would have been helpful for a first time customer. The restaurant itself was extremely hot and humid, making it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy a meal. When my bowl arrived, the noodles were undercooked and the broth was much spicier than I expected. Overall, I just didn't enjoy the food or the experience. For the price, I expected much better quality, service, and atmosphere. It felt overpriced for what I received, and unfortunately, I would not recommend this place. In my experience, it simply wasn't worth the money or the time.

They didn't make us feel rushed at all and were really welcoming throughout the whole ordering process. The fish tasted really fresh, which is one of the biggest things I look for in poke, and they had a good variety of sauces to choose from depending on what flavor you're in the mood for. The toppings bar was also really solid with a lot of options, and everything looked fresh and well stocked. I liked that you could customize your bowl however you wanted and still have everything pair well together. One thing I really liked is that they actually pack the containers full, so it genuinely feels worth the money. I even got a small bowl once, and it was still loaded with fish, toppings, and everything else. There have been times the staff seems high and blown out of their minds. Other times they are too busy chatting up with coworkers to acknowledge or provide even the basic decency of customer service. Then, more often than not you are treated almost as a bother. Due to the service here, I have stopped dining in and opt for calling a phone order to take out. On three separate occasions now, within the last 3 months, they have neglected the phones for orders. They would rather disconnect or turn off the phone completely to avoid any future orders. This comes as a surprise when in about 10 minutes of my first attempted call, I see a staff of four people, yet only one customer. I believe there was no excuse as to why they could not answer the phone. I confirmed they accept take out orders essentially until closing. I have always been mindful to not attempt to order within 30 minutes of them closing. The service here is appalling and truly diminishes their potential for how great the spot could be considering the food they have. Food on the other hand is a total opposite of the service, very flavorful and strong punch of spice at a level 3. My go to is the Wonton ramen with a miso base. Crispy rice is a great starter to share. The garlic ramen is also a great contender if you have a garlic craving. Open layout feels like a mom and pop shop. Overall pretty clean establishment. Occasional tweaker going in for the bathroom closer to the end of the night.

Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.
