The sauces are FULL of flavor, like you can tell everything is made with love. And the agua fresca was so refreshing, perfect balance, not too sweet, just right. Everything we had was honestly just amazingly delicious. No misses. 3 stars because the food itself was actually pretty good but personally the service wasn't really all there for me. When we got seated, there was another couple seated right next to us who had also just arrived not long after a server asked them to move because a bigger party of around 6 people came in. I know restaurants have to accommodate larger groups sometimes but it honestly felt a little disrespectful and awkward especially since the couple had already gotten their drinks and chips... it was mother's day so I understand it was probably super busy which may also be why the food took a long time to come out glad the taste and flavors saved the experience because otherwise I probably would've given 2 stars read more

Such good food. I came here by myself on a weekend early lunch. Surprisingly wasn't too busy. I think I was in between the breakfast and lunch rush. The food is fresh. Service is fast and nice. I love that they have so many options of salsas. I ordered the ceviche mixto . It was a large portion and can easily be shared for 2-3 people. It was very fresh and presented nicely as well. It's a very hole in the wall vibe and they have a good amount of options too. I know this place must get busy for dinner. Parking is easy as there is a small lot for the plaza. Good food and overall experience, would recommend. I found out about Mariscos El Governador through Instagram and the food looked both tasty and fresh. My family came on a weeknight and were quickly seated. The waitress who assisted was also helpful and gave thoughtful recommendations as we asked about the menu. We ordered the empanadas de camaron, the tostada embarazada, shrimp cocktail, tacos, and some drinks. All of the food had good flavor and well presented. The tostada embarazada was packed with crab, shrimp, and octopus. The shrimp empanadas also had good flavor, only negative was that with the filling two of the empanadas were a little soggy. I've heard good things about the aguachiles and plan on trying that next. We also got a michelada and margaritas, all of the drinks were good. I especially liked the like margarita, but do want to note their margaritas are served over ice and are not blended. There's a good amount of seating and parking was easy. AMAZING Sinaloan-style Shrimp Tacos here! Taco Al Governador is a crispy taco with big pieces of shrimp, cheese, and sautéd green peppers and onions. Its one of the best Mexican foods I've had recently. 5/5, its the name of the place so definitely worth getting because its unique amongst the standard shrimp tacos. This shrimp-taco variation is a modern creation from Sinaloa along with aguachile. The legend is it was created at Los Arcos in Mazaltan to surprise governor Francisco Ochoa who said publicly his favorite food was his wifes shrimp tacos. It was so popular it spread from there, you can also find it as "al gobernador" tacos. Lady working was very nice, I asked for "taco camarones" and she knew I meant the "al governador". For non-spanish speakers like myself they have a menu with english names and descriptions you can use to point at when ordering in person. Tostada Embarazada:, octopus, imitation crab, shrimp, red onion, cucumber, avocado on a crunchy tortilla. Tortilla is buried by the heavy amount of toppings and got soggy. It was OK, not bad. Plenty more to try before ordering this again. Bonus points for the old-school coin-op capsules, my son loved them and most of them are still only a quarter though the size of the capsules and prizes have shrunk a lot since I was a kid. They also had chicken nuggets and french fries which my kid loved, they are from frozen but very well cooked and worth the $6 to feed your little ones. read more

Felt like having some good mariscos on Friday so my husband and I decided to come here. We had been here once before and we liked what we had so we decided to come and try some more of their food. It was busy and we had to wait to be seated since it lent season. We didn't wait to long. We sat down and ordered some drinks and they brought us some nicely warm tortilla chips and salsa. Then we ordered our entrees, I ordered the embarazada tostada which consists of imitation crab, octopus, shrimp mixed with cucumber and lemon and put on a tostada with some mayonnaise spread on it. My husband ordered the shrimp al mojo de ajo ( garlic shrimp) it comes with a side of beans and rice and some tortillas. We also ordered some fried shrimp empanadas. I liked my tostada but I would probably not order it again because the tostada got soft because of everything on top of it. I will order the shrimp ceviche next time , the tostadas come on the side of that dish. My husband liked his garlic shrimp as well as the shrimp empanadas. We started with a couple micheladas (basic) and an appetizer to share: aguachile. A-mazing! The micheladas were not overly flavored and filling like most these days are. The aguachile tasted super fresh and left us wanting more. We couldn't stay longer, it was a girls' night out and we needed to move onto the next stop.
