The pupusa was absolutely delicious but halfway through enjoying the c u r t i d o, I started chewing on something tough. I thought it was just part of the Cabbage core but then realized after I spat it out that it was some type of paper good, up here to be a world of paper towel. Disgusting. I didn't mind waiting 15 minutes for a fresh pupusa, but the young woman working at the counter could not have been less friendly. These were the best pupusas I've had in a while! As many have said, you can't go wrong with the revueltas. Comes with the works - the frijoles were our fav. This is definitely a hole in the wall with some great pupusas! They've got a good variety of food options! Their sign is a banner and may be easy to miss. I do feel like the parking lot is a bit shady, just an fyi. But service was very friendly, most of the staff spoke to me in Spanish at first but quickly went to English once they realized I didn't speak Spanish. The restaurant is pretty small so there isn't as much seating. My brother wanted asada tacos but unfortunately they were out of asada when we went on a Monday afternoon but they were very apologetic and kind about it! ** Also, they only take cash or zelle!** I ordered 2 revuelta pupusas and they were amazing! First of all the pupusas were pretty large, definitely the largest I've ever had. It did take a bit for them to come out but that's just because they're freshly made to order and they were steaming hot. They were served with a salsa and some pickled cabbage. Everything went together so well! 5/5 Overall, I think this is a great place to grab some authentic pupusas and if you want amazing food and are on a budget! This place is the real deal. Came here for the first time today and it did not disappoint. The 2 pupusas I had were delicious! Made fresh to order, so it took about 10-15 min, but worth the wait. Service was good enough, not outstanding, the person taking orders spoke Spanish and we ordered our food in Spanish. Their bathroom says it's out of order, but I think it's just to keep any homeless people away or unwanted patrons out of it, we were able to use the restroom. Inside is small, there are six tables with 4 chairs and one table with 2 chairs. Would definitely come back here again, although I'd probably just take it to go. read more

We ordered the chicharon queso and queso pupusas - no regrets here, amazingly delicious. Paired with their cabbage salad and tomato sauce it was amazingly delicious! Empanadas were sweet but hit the spot. The restaurant is small with a few tables and seats. Loved that there was a consistent flow of foot traffic. Kind of a hidden place, and I was excited to try something new. We tried the revueltas, loroco y queso, and pupusa loco pupusas, as well as the birria tacos. The pupusas were larger than I thought, and were fulfilling. Both the tacos and pupusas were cooked fresh and very hot. Definitely would go again! read more

I've had their food on 2 occasions and both times were so good. I was having a craving for pupusas. The lady we normally go to has a food truck in Anaheim, but told us she was not working that night and we should go to the restaurant. We had to look it up before to make sure it was close. Turns out it's even closer to us than where the food truck typically is, so win win. I'm pretty basic so the first time, I ordered 3 pupusas with beans and cheese, and an order of plantains fritos. Delish. Didn't get that pictured because I was so hungry haha but the second time I ordered 2 pupusas with beans and cheese. Again, so yummy. Husband picked it up and said they're friendly and make the food to order, so it's definitely fresh. We'll be coming here for any of our pupusas cravings! The best and most authentic pupusas. They are a great size and full of flavor. I love their authentic salvadorean horchata and empanadas as well. I'm not Salvadoran, but my spouse is and so I've had my fair share of great and not so great pupusas. This places is pretty legit. The pupusas are a good size, the masa is spot on and not dry, and the fillings are evenly distributed, so you don't get a bite of just masa. I also really dig their curtido, it's a little on the chunky side, but it works! I super appreciate their generosity with the curtido, as many places are down right stingy, especially with the to go orders. I think the tomato salsa is fine, but that's because I like it a little spicier. My wife loves it , so I'll defer to the expert. Lastly the agua de maracuya is fantastic and highly addictive. This place is very much a hole in the wall, but it's clean, and if you got serious antojos for some delicious pupusas and maracuya do yourself a favor and check this place out! read more

The owner prepares everything handmade right when you order it! The prices are low for such high quality food. I noticed a lot of people called ahead to order to go but I enjoy eating there. The pork & cheese, also chicken & cheese pupusas are fantastic! The owner was helpful & her husband is always nice. The menu, which is laid out well. Clean restroom, authentic decor, nice variety of drinks. Music is at a high volume. Yummy spicy curtido and the red sauce is just right, with good spices. El Sabor is a newly opened mom and pop, sharing a store front with a meal prep shop. We went to try their pupusas and were not disappointed. They are freshly made and so delish, and reasonably priced too. I had 2 and was satisfied. They give you a big jar of curtido (fermented cabbage) which goes great with the pupusas. This new establishment is delicious, and I'm glad it was my first restaurant experience of 2024! This is a new little restaurant. It's cozy and quaint with 4 tables, and the kitchen. The cashier was also serving, but he was doing both jobs with the biggest smile on his face. My husband ordered 3 pupusas (2 chicken and 1 chicharron) and he ate them ALL. Nothing left. He says they were delicious! I ordered 1 pupusa loca which was a mix of everything offered, and 1 revuelta (cheese, beans and chicharron) and oh my...so fresh. And I know that all pupusas are normally cooked to order and fresh, but there was something about THESE that made them better than any pupusa I've ever had. The curtido here is extra good. It's fresh and each bite has integrity, it's not over fermented or swimming in vinegar. It also had jalapeño in it which was different for me, but I just wanted more. I ate so much curtido I only finished one pupusa. They also offer a side of spicy salsa which was more flavorful than spicy, but that was much appreciated. The tamales de elote were also fresh, and fried to the perfect consistency. Not too much on those, but if you like corn, and tamales, you'll like these. This is one of our new favorite places for the year. Although they have tables, I imagine them being a great takeout place as well. Go give them your business! read more

I am actually waiting for my food as I wrote this review. Can't tell you how the food tastes but I'm sure I will not be enjoying it because of the service I just received. I get that restaurant owners and employees want to wrap up the day as soon as possible, but I literally had 1.5 hours before closing time. I sensed the mood was off as soon as I walked in the door. Chose to take my order to go because it was so obvious that they did not want to be here. I would suspect that they must be doing well if they feel they have the right to act this way towards customers but the place looks like they can really use the business. Don't take a chance on this place. Just sayin. Also, don't ask for extra curtido because you will get a dirty look, and he will ask you if the order is going to the same place for him to determine how much to give you. This place just opened a week ago and we decided to stop in for lunch. It exceeded our expectations! The service was wonderful and the food is fresh and delicious! We got the chicken and cheese and revuelta pupusas! I recommend them both. For drinks we got the horchata and ensalada. Both tasted like they were fresh and made in house, especially the horchata which had a deep toasted highlight to it. Finally we had the plantains as a side. They were well made and the crema dip was perfect to go with it. The place seems to be family run with the owner being incredibly attentive to us. She was fantastic and made it feel like we were eating at someone's home. The interior design was simple but also didn't detract from the quality of the food which is what you are there for. The pupusas are great with any filling, but calabasa and revueltas are always my favorite. Recommend trying the plantains, corn tamales, and nuegados de yuca as well. I was so excited when I saw they had opened a Salvadorian restaurant. I dined in one morning and the food was delicious. The service wasn't great, but decided to give them a second chance. I returned for dinner another day, and this time we had a woman waiter/cashier take our orders. From the beginning, this woman had a bad attitude. I asked her for water and she said they don't serve water, they only sell water bottles. I found it strange considering I got water the first time I came. When the food came out, I asked her for an extra plate, and she looked so bothered to get asked for something. She brought me a plastic plate instead of the regular plates we had. Not once did she ask if there was anything we needed. When it was time to pay, she did not give us a receipt itemizing all we ordered. She gave us a total and I'm pretty sure she overcharged us. Heads up, it's cash or Zelle only. It's unfortunate. The food is good, but with horrible service like this, you won't get referrals.
