Pro: service and food. Grow: display prices. Seafood has been my go to lately and I was craving some Aguachiles. I read about this food truck in the San Fernando valley and I was luckily driving by the area. Parking is ample at the parking lot and the food truck has seating which was convenient and added to the vibe. There were many local people ordering food here. I felt welcomed and was given recommendations to try the chiltepin Aguachile. This food truck is a bit on the pricy side and would really like to have the prices displayed. Food: the chiltepin Aguachile was not as spicy as I hoped but it was very fresh and tasty. The order came with tostadas, avocado, and was enough for 3 loaded tostadas. I also ordered the 3 shrimp empanadas which were not on the menu. I've had better but these were filling. The chipotle Mayo and salsa verde really elevated them. My total was about $23. Overall, this is a convenient and good quality spot for Mexican seafood. However, I've had a few others in LA that are a bit more affordable for the same quality.

I'm so glad to be living in the San Fernando Valley which I consider to be a Mecca for foodies like me. New businesses sprouting continuously, be it part of big chain restaurants, small businesses, food vendors, or food trucks. Mariscos Mazatleco is one of the newer food trucks out in the valley. They actually have two trucks, one located by Reseda Park and the other one by the old Toys R'Us in Sherman Way. I went to the one by Reseda park. The truck is pretty new and they do provide tables and chairs setup by the pool area of the park. I came here expecting to try the marlin tacos and shrimp empanada. Unfortunately, empanadas weren't available so I asked for a shrimp taco instead. The marlin taco was pretty good but was disappointed with the shrimp taco. I was hoping for fresh shrimps on it but what I got are shrimp poppers that were really tiny and coated with a lot of batter. Also I saw some taco pics with slices of avocado on top but I didn't get any of that.

I love love love this place !!!! The spicy red salsa really does its thing and adds so much flavor to the shrimp cocktail !! I legit come like once a month

I loveeeee this place!!! The shrimp aguachile is sooo good!! I haven't bought anything else from here, only this, but IT IS SO DELICIOUS that I don't want to try anything else cause every time I come here I am craving this! I highly recommend this spot if you are into aguachile. The only warning I will give is if you can't handle spice, you should get the mild and get the spicy sauce on the side. They drench the spicy sauce with the aguachile so it is realllly spicy. Just a heads-up!

Saw this advertised on an app and lucked out. Tried two marlin tacos and expected them to be traditional fish tacos. But what I got was a huge amount of well seasoned marlin fish inside a double tortilla with cheese in the middle. well worth the $4 each. The hearty tacos were topped with avocado and delicious sauces. They were much larger than regular street tacos and two was enough for a meal for me. Notes: - Because it's not your simple taco truck, allow a little extra time for the beautiful presentation. - Knowing a bit of Spanish will help you read the menu.

We lucked out and got the last booth before the dinner rush. The place looked exactly like it did last time we came. Staff was still friendly. They don't accept cash, only cards/tap to pay. Their menu looked different. Wish I had taken a photo. You have an option to build your own boil by choosing your protein, sauce, spice level and add in's. They still don't allow you to mix garlic butter and lemon pepper sauces. You're forced to get the Kickin mix which includes Cajun even if you're not a fan of that flavor. They also have a kids menu with 2 choices, appetizers and family combos. Always intimidating ordering from a menu that doesn't disclose the pricing up front. That's the weirdest thing. Even restaurants in Beverly Hills have pricing on their menus. We got the family feast which feeds up to 4 people and had a combo of crab, mussels, shrimp, sausage, rice, potato and corn which was about $107. (Side note, they charge 50 cents for a pair of gloves and they do not provide you with a little towelette to wipe before or after your meal) This I have to admit was a pretty good deal considering it's a good amount of seafood. They serve it to you in a large metal bowl. We asked for mild since we had toddlers, but because of the Cajun in the sauce (that they force you to get if you want garlic butter and lemon pepper flavor) it was more of a medium, and the kids could not tolerate the heat. Which wasn't a bad thing since that meant more for us grown ups. Ordered them a side of truffle fries which was not too bad actually. We also ordered some of their specialty drinks which come in huge cups. We tried asking for two small empty cups so the kids could share our drinks, but they refused to provide that to us. According to the waiter, it's the restaurant policy that they can only provide water cups, but we have to figure out what to do with the water inside. (Insert face palm emoji) Also they do not provide buckets for your shells so we weren't sure what to do with all that water but drink it. The cups are thin paper cups to pair perfectly with those gross paper straws. By the time we finished the water the cups were pretty mushy already. Needless to say we couldn't finish all our food so we asked for it to go, reluctantly as we hoped they weren't going to try and charge us for those to go bags as well. Pro's: they brought the food out quickly. The food tasted freshly cooked. Con's: don't know where to begin. Parking lot sucks since it's shared with multiple other businesses. There is no place for you to sit and wait outside the restaurant. You'll need to stand outside by the parking lot and pray you don't get side swiped by some crazy driver. Menu has hidden pricing. They charge 50 cents for gloves and do not provide wipes for after your meal. They don't provide a bucket/container to place your seafood shells so it gets mixed in with your other food on the table. Can't even ask for an empty cup for kids. They don't let you customize your sauces your way. Sad to say after all this time my review for this place is still a solid 2 stars.

Despite it being a busy spot, we were seated right away, which is a huge plus when you have little ones in tow! The Drinks & Starters We started with the Horchata and the Pineapple Water (Agua de Piña). Both were refreshing, authentic, and clearly made with care. If you like traditional Mexican drinks, these are a must-try. The Food Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and felt incredibly fresh. A standout for us was the homemade corn tortillas--you can really taste the difference! Our table shared: * Mojarra & Pescado al Mojo de Ajo: Perfectly cooked and seasoned. * Lobster Plate: Succulent and generous. * Surf & Turf Tacos: These were a highlight! Loaded with carne asada and creamy guacamole, then topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. Each plate comes with rice, beans, and a side salad, but they are super flexible--we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans on some plates, which is great for picky eaters or just a change of pace. Service & Atmosphere The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, so parking was easy to find, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Even though the dining room was buzzing and busy, our waitress was incredibly nice and the entire staff was well-attended to our needs. Bottom line: If you're looking for delicious, flavorful seafood in a family-friendly environment, Marisco Corona is the place to go. We will definitely be back!
