    Peter C.

Great / clean environment with amazing food!! I got chilaquiles en salsa roja con huevo y carne and i was amazed with the portions I received. The food was delicious. A plus service and great staff. Will be coming again to try more items excited for the experience. Great Family Owned Restaurant Ps The aguas are to die for !!!

I came here and this place did not disappoint. I got the Birria de Chivo with consome on the side. It was amazing!! The portion was extremely filling and the home made tortillas were a great touch. Amazing value for the huge portion you get. The pineapple aguas Fresca was great to wash it all down with!

This is the best birria place in town. I tried the goat birria, and it was amazing. La mejor birria d chivo en el valle.

A couple Tips from Pancho should you decide to come check this place out. 1) Correct address is 6643 Van Nuys Blvd, not 6641 as listed on Yelp, yeah not far off but.. 2) You DO NOT enter from Van Nuys Blvd, you must go around back and enter from the parking lot area. 3) Yelp has this place is listed as "$$ - $11-$30" wrong again, it's your typical "$" Mexican food spot. I love me some good Birria, haven't had any in a while so I just had to stop on in and check things out, peeps were friendly and food arrived pretty quickly. Birria de Chivo en Caldo - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/birrieria-lupita-van-nuys#GMqu2Arrbau_GS6qvyaPow You can order your Birria on a plate with a side of rice and beans or as a soup with broth! I prefer it this way, I think a good broth makes the dish. Caldo/Broth was clean, meaning not a bunch of fat floating in it, had real nice flavor, the meat Chivo that's Goat http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/birrieria-lupita-van-nuys#xeMN__i538m_-2XVtQXA7Q for you gabachos, had a little fat not much, but did have bones, some like the bones I prefer not, overall a very good Birria de Chivo and would definitely come back. 4-Stars Tortillas de Maiz Hechas a Mano - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/birrieria-lupita-van-nuys#XBQ31puYeB2w5oiCt0xCOQ Very thick hand made corn tortillas, that were s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y undercooked for my liking. They also have some nice house made salsa, just ask for a Hotter one than the default one they bring out with the chips!

Our plates on different occasions. Delicious!

My husband and I LOVE this place! We come here maybe once or even twice a week. #1 It's CLEAN. The floors, tables, walls, everything is kept nice and spotless. #2 The service is great. The waiters are very polite and helpful when choosing what to get. #3 It doesn't take long for food to come out. This place does get busy- but even then it never is unreasonable. #4 Most importantly, the food is fresh and tasty. No frills, just authentic Mexican food.

The place was delicious! Very friendly environment. Anthony really was a great help and always attentive. Will for sure be coming back soon!

The skylight room is my favorite--it gets so much natural light and feels super refreshing. The customer service was amazing too. The food tasted fresh and didn't feel overly processed or heavy. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and listed out some of the menu favorites. We were checked on and given water regularly, which was great! Second, I love the vibe in here. It's a bigger space than I expected. Within the restaurant there is a main dining area, a side room, and outdoor seating. There's also a little space for selling pastries/desserts that I found quite cute. As the name suggests, there is a humble vibe. The parking situation is a bit limited. There are not many spaces out front, which is something to be aware of if you're thinking of stopping by. Lastly, the food was really delicious. I ordered the Panwich and tried a little bit of my friends omelette. The omelette was really good and cooked to my liking. The panwich was also really good! I'm a sucker for the savory + sweet combo. The combo of sausage, pancake, syrup, marscapone cheese, and apples was elite. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will be coming again more!

Located in the Encino Town Center, I am so happy that my daughter recommended this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is large, with numerous well-stocked tables and many more tables located outside for patio dining. There also appeared to be a mid-sized banquet room off to one side, behind closed doors, which several guests were exiting to use the restrooms. The entire staff was very friendly, hard-working, and attentive to each of their assigned tables. The specialty here is the waffles; however, their menu is HUGE!!! It offers guests a variety of other food options, including pancakes, salads, omelets, crepes, and more. My family and I ordered Nutella crepes, peach waffles, frittata, and seasoned potatoes. Each item was DELICIOUS, fresh, and well prepared. We plan to return here soon to try other great-sounding options on the menu. This was a very positive dining experience.

Had the answer been no, I would have moved on to my other top choice or second choice or whatever. 20 min later my plate arrived with no white meat. I saw 4 pieces - all small and two were clearly a wing and drumstick and I assume the other was a thigh cut in half. I checked it to see as it was dark in the restaurant by touching it. My mom and I were sharing and she was going to eat the dark meat but the server wouldn't take the food back because I had touched it. Well that was it for my OCD, wait a do you re a serve food? Of course I touched it, I was the plate I ordered and I was looking for the white meat that was supposed to be on the plate. I just wanted her to bring me my proper order by bringing me a breast or tenders. She didn't have to remove the food. That was enough to mar my experience with them. She did bring me a piece finally. Also 7 dollars for drip coffee is outrageous. The drink prices and food prices are in separate worlds. The food pricing and taste were good. The service was mediocre. Because then she pawned us off on her coworker.

I ordered the Loxes, which was described as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, tomatoes, onions, pickled red onions, sour cream, daikon sprouts, fresh dill, sourdough toast, and a choice of grilled potatoes or mixed greens. On paper, it sounded like a flavorful and satisfying combination, but unfortunately, the execution fell well short of expectations. The first disappointment was that the entire dish arrived only slightly warm--closer to room temperature than freshly prepared. Eggs and smoked salmon are at their best when served at the proper temperature, and the lukewarm presentation made the meal feel like it had been sitting for a while before reaching the table. The smoked salmon also didn't taste particularly fresh. It lacked the clean, delicate flavor and silky texture you'd expect from quality lox. The sourdough toast was another letdown, as it tasted stale rather than crisp on the outside and soft inside. Combined with the underwhelming salmon, it made the meal feel less like something prepared to order and more like an afterthought. Flavor-wise, everything was surprisingly flat. Despite the variety of ingredients--fresh dill, pickled onions, sour cream, tomatoes, and sprouts--nothing really came together into a memorable dish. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't something I'd crave or recommend. At $19.95, I expected much better quality, freshness, and attention to detail. There are plenty of brunch spots in Los Angeles serving more flavorful, better-executed meals at this price point. One positive worth mentioning is the free parking in the back, which is definitely convenient in an area where parking can often be a hassle. Unfortunately, convenient parking alone isn't enough to make up for a disappointing meal. Based on this experience, I won't be returning.
