This is the 3rd time we've ordered for pickup. I always order it medium and this is how it comes, extra well done. I ordered 2 of these and they are $25 each! No bueno

TLDR: Beware of the convenience fee! Maybe it was from card, but it was not communicated. The fettucine dos sabores is popular, but it was not tasty. Maybe it was an off night, or maybe it wasn't for me. - - - - - - I visited Chios upon recommendation, and it caught my eye because it was Peruvian. I had Peruvian once, and it was a remarkable experienced. A friend mentioned the Lomo Saltado, but I ordered the Fettucine Dos Sabores at the remark that the beef was the same as the Lomo Saltado by the staff. Dinner started with complimentary breadsticks and a spicy salsa dip. The breadsticks were okay, but that dip really hit the spot! A better pairing might have been with tortilla chips. After this, I was excited to try the Fettucine Dos Sabores from those Yelp photos, as it looked tasty. Unfortunately, the Fettucine Dos Sabores was not too tasty, and I regrettably label it as the no sabores. Both sides were lightly flavored, and it felt like eating pasta with thick, watered down sauce. I'm not too sure what that green sauce was, but it had a nutty taste, possibly an attempt at pesto. The yellow sauce tasted like nacho cheese blended with tortilla chips... It was not the tastiest combo. The fettucine can comfortably feed two, but after ordering it once, I can't say that I will be bringing a friend or coming on a date for this. The staff were friendly and but on the slower end. There was also no mention of a "convenience fee," and the total was ~$35 after tax and tip.

I ordered for an Easter meal on that Sunday. I ordered: OCTOPUS $42.50 PULPO A LA PARILLA BEEF TENDERLOIN ($28.79) (CHURRASCO A LA PARILLA) SEAFOOD RISOTTO ($24.99) (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) Everything was to DIE for! Everything so tender and juicy! The beef tenderloin knocked me out of my seat! I ended ordering there again a few days later because that's how much I loved this dish!

A shrimp served with the "jalea" dish.

A restaurant shouldn't serve shrimp with the vein (digestive tract) because it can contain grit, waste, fecal matter and bacteria, making the shrimp taste bitter and look unappetizing--reflecting poor attention to cleanliness and quality.

So this location is little slow and parking is not the best with only a few spots but the food is still delicious. Order the lomo saltado or mar y tierra. You get full off all the fries and rice. When the sauce soaks up the rice, oh man it's good. They give free warm bread as the appetizer. The green sauce has a kick so beware.

This is probably the best Peruvian place I have tried They have a few locations and I have been going to the Van Nuys one The service is excellent, and the prices are really reasonable I usually get the roasted chicken and also the seafood soup So fresh and so delicious Give it a try, you wanna regret it

My go to ceviche spot in the valley !!! I love the Copa as it has such a special flavor and makes the ceviche unique. Chios is a staple for peruvian food in the valley, the service is always great. Im a regular and highly recommend

Chio's was a good experience! I had lunch with a friend. The fish ceviche was fresh, the green spaghetti packed with flavor, the Anticuchos very tasty and the Lomo Saltado was really good. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere, while okay, could use some improvement.

Was needing to treat myself and seafood was what I needed. I got there late but was greeted warmly and seated quickly. A seafood combo platter was so scrumptious. Tends octopus, calamari, shrimp, muscles, potatoes and all covered in savory sauce. The best!

We go to Chio's when we want some pulpo (octopus) and their Peruvian meat dishes (lamb and steak). This is our first time in this branch since the nearest one closed (Tarzana). Also went to their other Van Nuys branch before but this spot is less hectic and it was quiet for a Friday night - not sure if it's because we got there before 8pm. First thing - very limited parking - you'll have to snag a spot on the street. There's indoor and outdoor dining. We sat indoor and ordered calamari, pulpo, steak with fries and fried rice with beef. For drinks we got some inka sodas, chicha morada and Maracuya... not sure which one is the purple drink but I prefer the passion fruit one. So we keep going back here when we're craving octopus. I cook different dishes and whenever I go to a restaurant I always tend to order food that I won't cook myself. Octopus is one of those so it's always expensive when you order octopus in a restaurant but I don't mind the price if it's tender and flavorful. Underneath the octopus are some corn, potatoes, shrimps and squid. The sauces - love the green one - I think it's chimichurri. Speaking of green sauces - the one they include with the hot bread is good too. Love it when you get warm fresh bread. We recommended to my son to get the other beef dish that has sauce but he opted for the one pictured below. It looked dry to me but my son said it was very tasty. He cooks and seasons well when he does so I'll take his word for it. We saw a heaping serving of calamari ordered by another diner so we ordered one too. I would say for the price they have bigger serving for the calamari. The mains we've ordered here are about $20-$35+ but can be for sharing. We tend to not experiment with food so when we know what we liked - we tend to go back and order the same thing. Eating out is not cheap these days so why risk ordering something you don't really want. Location is not the best so we will probably go back and check out the new Tarzana location since that's closer. I

The complimentary bread was soft, warm, and incredibly fresh and the perfect start to the meal. The calamari was fried to perfection and was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. We also ordered the seafood tower, which was outstanding. One of the highlights was the selection of oysters, and Catherine did an amazing job helping us choose the best variety. Her knowledge and recommendations made a huge difference and elevated the entire experience. The seafood tower also came with three delicious ceviches, each fresh, flavorful, and uniquely prepared. The mussels were another standout dish, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. To top it all off, the Lure Blonde on draft was excellent and paired wonderfully with the seafood. As amazing as the food was, the real reason I'm taking the time to write this review is Catherine. I don't normally leave Yelp reviews, in fact, this is my very first one but her service was so exceptional that I felt compelled to go out of my way and recognize her. Catherine was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every item on the menu, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. She anticipated our needs, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel welcomed throughout the entire meal. It's rare to come across someone who combines professionalism, personality, and hospitality so effortlessly. Great food gets people through the door, but exceptional service keeps them coming back. Catherine delivered exactly that. Lure is fortunate to have her, and we'll absolutely be returning because of the experience she helped create.

A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

Despite it being a busy spot, we were seated right away, which is a huge plus when you have little ones in tow! The Drinks & Starters We started with the Horchata and the Pineapple Water (Agua de Piña). Both were refreshing, authentic, and clearly made with care. If you like traditional Mexican drinks, these are a must-try. The Food Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and felt incredibly fresh. A standout for us was the homemade corn tortillas--you can really taste the difference! Our table shared: * Mojarra & Pescado al Mojo de Ajo: Perfectly cooked and seasoned. * Lobster Plate: Succulent and generous. * Surf & Turf Tacos: These were a highlight! Loaded with carne asada and creamy guacamole, then topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. Each plate comes with rice, beans, and a side salad, but they are super flexible--we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans on some plates, which is great for picky eaters or just a change of pace. Service & Atmosphere The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, so parking was easy to find, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Even though the dining room was buzzing and busy, our waitress was incredibly nice and the entire staff was well-attended to our needs. It's a restaurant with an overall speakeasy vibe BUT is not dark and foreboding. Rather, its high ceilings, well spaced out tables, and appropriately lit dining/bar space has a welcoming, cool vibe! And the music to fill the space before the live music was well, my kinda music - vibey 80s/90s hip hop. On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

We came in at 7:30pm on Wed. 7/8/26 and they were having a special collaboration prefix dinner between Chef Oscar Torres and Chef Joe Garcia. Normally this is an à la carte restaurant, but tonight was a special event. They offer valet parking or you can park at a meter on Lankershim. You would never even guess there is a restaurant here when you look at the building from the outside. The name of the restaurant isn't even visible anywhere. Once you walk in, it's like you are transported to another world. The place was packed and the music was bumping. The vibes were immediately great and the moody lighting made for some cool ambience. We were seated immediately and our table happened to be right in front of the band stand. They were absolutely OUTSTANDING and the highlight of the evening! You could tell every single person in the quartet really felt every note they were playing in their soul. The harpist was exceptionally good. It was such a joy to listen to them while we ate our meal. Speaking of our meal, it was 7 courses with each chef using the same ingredients to create completely different dishes. It was a cool concept and everything tasted very good. Very fresh and excellent quality ingredients in every dish. The meal had 2 downsides for me and one of them was the dessert. It was a coconut pudding with some sort of fruit granita on top, with a slice of melon on ice. It felt cheap, almost as if there wasn't even any effort in coming up with something substantial and decent. The pudding itself was grainy, and the granita was already melted when it came to the table. For me, it didn't taste good and it didn't work. The other downside was the wait time between the risotto course and the fish course. Our server told us "they're super backed up with the Halibut in the kitchen", so I'm not sure what happened. It was about a 30 minute wait before we got the fish, but I will say it was cooked to perfection. I really liked this place and would like to try it again under regular circumstances. I've heard a lot of good things about their food and I'd like to try things from their actual menu. This experience was a 4-star, but maybe next time it will be a 5-star.
