On my first visit, I purchased two seafood tacos: one mixed seafood with veggies, and the other grilled shrimp. Both were large and contained two tortillas. BEST FISH TACO I have ever had! I was expecting a normal sized (small) fish taco, but to my surprise, it was jumbo sized! $1.75 for a jumbo taco? Yes, please! I would think a fish taco that good and that big would've cost so much more. I'm not a oyster fan either, but now my views have changed! $9 for 6 was a great deal for how delicious it tasted. You don't usually find really good Mexican tacos in North County, but this place tops the spot! For only $1.75, their fish tacos are the biggest I've ever had. They were simple, yet so tasty. The fish was lightly battered, but it was crispy and so fresh. They served it in two corn tortillas with cabbage and house sauce. I also had a taste of their ceviche with raw shrimp, cucumbers, jalapenos, and lime, alongside some tostadas. The ceviche had a little kick to it and the balance between the lime and cucumbers made the shrimp so flavorful. They are located on the Fry's parking lot in San Marcos. I saw this food truck when I was driving by one day, and I was excited because I love Germanos food trucks in San Diego. It looks like the old original truck that used to be in City Heights, and it's the same great fish tacos. I used to eat the gobernador (Governator- I believe it was named when Arnold Schwargennager was the governor) which has calamari in it, but back then it was $5.25 and now it's $8.25. Service was good and they packed everything up with care and included hot sauce and limes and paper towels. So nice and my stomach felt happy and satisfied. I have yet to find any other Mexican seafood place as good Mariscos German. The shrimp tacos are delicious. The staff is very friendly. They have free consome (fish soup). The food is so good and fresh plus it is affordable. The only downside is that there it is outside and no tables. So you have to eat outside standing up or in your car. You can also take it to go. Be careful with their salsas some are extremely hot, but still good. Must check this food truck out asap! read more

It was about 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday and there was a good gathering of people which is always a good sign. The service was quick so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Parking is not an issue because it's not too close to much else but it is pretty convenient to get to from the 78. The seafood was fresh so I definitely recommend getting some of the shrimp and fish tacos. It was a big portion and messy so make sure you get a lot of napkins. There aren't any tables so I recommend to sit in your car and eat it or take it to go. My wife loved the fresh ceviche on the tostada so I also recommend one of those also. read more

When I finally got to try it the food truck had a line at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, which is always a good sign! They also have some more exotic seafood options like octopus, multiple types of ceviche, and other items you would you would be unlikely to find other places. I really enjoyed the fish tostada which was covered in fresh and delicious ceviche! The only bummer about this food truck's location is that there is nowhere to eat your food, except standing on the sidewalk or in your car, and it can be a bit messy, so it could be worth getting your order to go so you can eat it someplace more comfortable. read more

However, they are most often found in the parking lot of the liquor store here off SanteFe. If you want legitimately good baja seafood then this is your stop. Last night Mariscos German was at Indian Joe's and we couldn't be happier! We arrived late at the brewery and our first stop was at the truck. The menu is quite substantial! My wife and I looked for a few minutes and decided to get 3 fish tacos and split the surf and turf burrito. We grabbed our beers and waited. Maybe 10 minutes later the truck owner brought us our food. To say the tacos were great would be an understatement! The freshly battered fillet, bigger than I've ever had in a fish taco, crispy, covered with cabbage and pico de Gallo and a crema. The first bite was amazing! The best fish taco I've ever had! Located one street west of Fry's in San Marcos. It sits alone during lunch hours on the street adjacent to an empty dirt lot. Park on the street and order up at the truck. There is nowhere to sit, so you either eat standing up with your food along the edge of the truck, or you gotta take it to go. The menu is focused on seafood tacos, though they have carne asada, soups, burritos, tostadas, etc. So far my favorite taco from them is the Marlyn (smoked fish) and Gobernador (shrimp). Warning: these $4.50 tacos are HUGE, so you only need to order 2 tacos really. They are not your normal dinky street tacos. They are also pretty cheap, so this one just hits all the right marks. My only criticism is that some of the cut up veggies in the tacos like diced bell pepper are diced really large, so it can be a bit cumbersome to eat and they tend to slide out and make a mess. read more

So I have been to the San Marcos and Encinitas. By far Encinitas is just better. So in The San Marcos one, they have so many customers that they have to mass produce the the ceviche. Because of that, it's salty. It's salty because it sits longer. In Encinitas everything is fresh and made to order. They are building their customer base, so they don't want to over make anything. It's all fish and shrimp with no fillers that are over cooked in lemon. I would say to go to Encinitas and try the different. Update.... went today 2-2-18 to the San MARCOS location.
