This place never disappoints! Every dish is fresh, flavorful and delicious. Quality food for the price. Excellent efficient service, the workers are great to ask for recommendations as well as the food came out in a timely manner. This will always be my spot to go to when in the area as well as for a hot day!

    Birria taco

Friendly service food was being caught fresh so it takes a min. Birria tacos are coo but obvi seafood is best. Got the Barbie special & pulpo tostada. fresh since it was caught off the boat. 7/10. Service only speaks Spanish from what I know so be patient!

Fish Taco. It's fine. Nothing great.

Welcome to Mexico. No passport required. This is the real deal, folks. Mexican music blasting. No yellow cheese within a mile. And absolutely authentic and very delicious food. The employees don't seem to speak much English but the menu is in English so just relax. Most businesses speak green. Good luck finding parking. Other than limited street parking, it's a disaster in this area. There's illegal parking available in the many apartment complexes nearby but you do you. I tried the fish taco and the (fried) shrimp burrito. I know everyone goes gaga over $2,00 fish tacos but I found it very ordinary. It's nothing special. The shrimp burrito is not crazy long but it's nice and fat and stuffed with fried shrimp. You can get it with grilled shrimp, if you prefer. It has a ton of shrimpy seaftflavor and I loved it. I could eat this every night if I didn't mind weighing 300 pounds. I got takeout but the place is huge and there's a ton of seating inside. Go get that shrimp burrito!

the food was so delicious! i got the aguachile with mango & it was so fresh and good. hands down best aguachile ive ever tasted. my boyfriend got the cali burrito & the meat was seasoned so well! the service did take a little long but was super friendly and so worth the wait. 10/10 recommend and will for sure be coming back.

Delicious! One of our preferred spots to visit whilst in North County. Tucked next to the Sprinter railroad tracks in a mixed apartment and commercial area is Maeiscos La Baja. It's a spacious restaurant with a vibrant color palette. The fish tacos remain an excellent choice at just $2/each and the ceviche is fresh. Delicious salsas and plenty of hot sauces. Enjoyed our ceviches as well. Check it out next time you're in the area!

Yummy! Found this spot on a whim and it's a nice hidden gem in the streets of San Marcos. I had the best octopus taco here, the only octopus taco I've ever had but still so delicious. The peppers are very spicy but not all of them are. A bit pricey for one taco but the portion is a good size and again, so delicious - cooked perfectly. The shrimp burrito is simple. Not too heavy or oily at all. Veggies are fresh. The waitresses are nice. This is a good spot to practice your Spanish too haha. My only cons are that I tried to get a water cup and to go box but had to wait a bit, no one was at the counter for a while. I didn't see a salsa bar or fresh sauces to use, only bottled sauces. I wish they had servings of fresh salsas or other options. Parking in the back, but not much.

I frequent San Marco's once a month because I manage a community near by. Every time I come to the area, I need to get my aguachile fix. This restaurant is nestled in a cute little area of San Marcos across from a small park and splash pad for kids. I usually order the aguachile verde - not too spicy but you can definitely tell them to custom make it to be spicier. And I have to grab myself a fish taco. The fish tacos are only $2; which is such a steal for the amount of fish and toppings on the taco. After you order, the server brings you some soup and chips like you would get at a Mariscos truck. Their choice of salsas are endless and the free chips and soup are delicious. If you are in the area, don't waste your time and go here! Literally, such a nice a place to have lunch and enjoy a nice michelada.

Found this place driving through to San Diego. Excellent spot! The fish tacos are Baja style, fresh with good flavor. The fish ceviche was super fresh and enough to make 2 tostadas. Beers are ice cold! Cannot recommend this place enough.

The grilled shrimp burrito was just okay, there was too much folded bunched up tortilla in the corner (see pic). The fish tacos are a great deal and delicious, the fish was very soft on the inside and the crust was crispy and hot. The aguachile tostada was also tasty, the raw shrimps tasted fresh with a spicy lime marinade. Love the variety of salsas available while dining in. We also were served free chips and small cups of consome with a shrimp each which was a nice flavorful side. No free water, I got a sparkling mineral water for $2.50. You pay at the cashier first who mostly spoke Spanish but that's how you know the food is going to be authentic and delicious. The food came out quickly despite other reviews, though we came on a weekday at 7pm. There was only one other table of 2 dining in and a few walk in to-go orders. It's a bit tricky to find parking, there's a lot of apartment complexes nearby with resident parking only. We found parking by driving down Tiger by the market and there seems to be a public parking lot for the gym across the street from the elementary school.

Wouldn't have expected this place in the tiny, quiet neighborhood! Tostadas Pulpo (Octopus): 7/10 I love that they have the option for an all octopus ceviche but the flavor was off. It was more tomato-y and I needed to add a lot of lime. After that, it still needed more seasoning. Mix Tostadas: 9/10 My boyfriend said his tastes normal and agreed that mine was too tomato-y Quesa Birria: 10/10 warm, cheesy, and juicy! Fish Tacos: 9/10 The fish tacos are only $1.75 and theyre huge! The sauce that they use inside the taco is very creamy but they were a likely under-cooked. If they were cooked just a little longer, they'd be perfect! Bonuses: -For dine-in, they give you consommé + chips -The staff is very friendly Cons: -Waited over 20 minutes for our food with only a few people in the dining room -Music is very very very loud

The workers check on you at the perfect times, help you understand the menu, and even break down your order and pricing so you know exactly what you're getting. The prices are great and surprisingly affordable. I ended up leaving a $30 tip because I couldn't thank them enough. If you're on a budget, they'll even pull out a Sharpie and write different options and prices right on your table to help you stay within your budget. What other place has service like that? McDonald's? No way. Chick-fil-A? Not even close. The Boiling Crab is an incredible experience, and I would definitely come back again and again. Whether you're trying a seafood boil for the first time or coming back for another visit, this is the place to go. They have all the seafood and sides you could want, and everything tastes amazing. Would you rather spend hundreds of dollars on random stuff from Facebook Marketplace, or about $20 per person for a delicious seafood boil the whole family can enjoy? The food is filling, flavorful, and worth every penny. This place is also perfect for birthday parties. They don't take reservations, but they do have wait times, and you can always call ahead if you're planning something special. I'm actually planning to have my 50th birthday party here with a group of 20 people, and they told me they can accommodate us, which is amazing. I'll be sure to update everyone on how the party goes! Also, my husband is the one who drove me here, and I'm so thankful for him. He's currently fighting stage 4 cancer, and seeing him smile and enjoy a great meal meant the world to me. For a little while, he seemed happier and felt better, and that's something I'll never forget. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you're craving a seafood boil and you're anywhere in the San Diego area--whether you're a few minutes away or even a few hours away--you know where to go: The Boiling Crab. It's a fantastic place for families, friends, and anyone looking for a fun and delicious meal. - Beckett

The clam chowder was just okay and nothing particularly special. The sea bass with garlic butter was a little bland and definitely needed some hot sauce or tartar sauce for extra flavor. The Spanish rice also tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was a little dry. I did appreciate that the black beans came topped with some cheese and were served in a little tostada bowl - a nice touch. The fish and chips were hands down the best thing we ordered. The fish had a super crispy batter and the fries were crispy as well. Definitely the standout of the meal. We did lock eyes a few times with servers to make ourselves look like we needed help. It was one thing after the other like stacking dishes to be cleared off; requesting for more plates/napkins/water... Despite that, the salad was lovely. The pasta bucatini is tasty and fresh and the drinks (4 cocktails and waters) were easy on our eyes. We moved to the bar to sit a while longer and enjoy another drink. The bar is no different than the dining room service and I know that is something the restaurant should be mindful of.
