I had been craving seafood for a while now and stumbled upon this place on yelp and Google Maps. Upon looking at the food and reading reviews I decided to give this restaurant a try last night. I usually feel anxious when dining at a restaurant because that's how I've always been. This restaurant and their workers were very very kind and attentive to my family. I ordered a michelada and it was very delicious!!! So cold and crispy with a hint of spiciness !! The food arrived and the portions were perfect-- honestly everything about the food was delicious and presentable. The bathrooms were very clean too and so was the dining room. I would give this place a 10/10 Everyone was very sweet and attentive. Thank you :)

Finally! An amazing, fresh, friendly Mexican restaurant that Vista truly needed! The environment is inviting and very clean. From the start, the salsa was incredibly flavorful and tasted freshly made -- and they even brought out complimentary queso. The Michelada was hands-down the best we've had in town. The dishes are packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and come in generous portions. They definitely don't skimp on the seafood or the meat. If we had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to turn the music down a few notches. Otherwise, this place is a fantastic addition to Vista and we'll definitely be back!

Picture of the tostada I ordered. This was all veggies. More than 1/2 of the tostada!

Was very disappointed with food here. Orders a shrimp taco and it only had 3 shrimps with a stack of veggies. The shrimp tostada was horrible! 3/4 of it was veggies. The tostada de camarón had bell peppers! We ordered a guacamole which didn't even have tomatoes and had excessive onions. Overall wouldn't recommend The server was not great! Took forever to get our order then, had to repeat our order multiple times to get. Even after that she brought us a plate that did not belong to us and got the drink ordered wrong. Took her 15 min to get our check (mind us we were only 2 and maybe 3 more tables we're occupied).

During my visit, service was excellent. They have a photo opportunity backdrop inside, and our server kindly offered to take several pictures of us with my phone for our happy hour gathering. Our food and cocktails were good. I ate a bowl of delicious clam chowder. I wish there were more clams than potatoes, but the taste was very good. You could also get it in a sourdough bowl! My friends ordered the calamari and the shrimp. They were both satisfied with their choices. There is full bar. We drank margaritas. Highly recommend for anyone searching for seafood in Vista, restaurants in Downtown Vista, or a great local dining experience in North County San Diego.

The person who answered the phone was so kind and helpful. She advised they give a complimentary slice of their cheesecake for the birthday celebrant but didn't sell whole cakes. She informed me about the 85 Degree bakery and Stater Brothers next door. They will gladly store the cake. The menu was a little difficult to understand but once our waiter , sorry I forgot his name explained the combos vs AlaCarte and how much would feed a party of 5 We explained one person ate like a bird 2 of us were starving and 2 were medium hungry. He asked us what we wanted in terms of seafood. We all wanted crab one person didn't want shrimp etc etc. he advised us to start with 3 (bags) boil combos all with crab ,comboed with other seafood to make it a variation. Plus add an extra portion of crab. Well it was perfect. We did 3 different spice variations and shared The table is lined with plastic. A roll of paper towels. Plus the tools. Cracker and extractor. And gloves. Omg we had a blast eating the delicious food. Everything was fresh and just scrumptious. We had one bag with the garlic and old bay. Mild (I love heat but read mild had a kick. ). Which is did but was overall a mild kick. I was slurping the juice out of the clam shells it was so gosh darn good. Our waiter and the rest of the staff checked on us. Refilled our tea and water. We made a pretty good mess of things. Best part is we didn't have to clean up. Our waiter was so thoughtful, when it was time to have cake and open presents he invited us to use a clean table. He brought us plates and forks for the cake too. The restaurant space is kinda different. You walk into the restaurant and you're in a pretty large foyer You move through it to a gigantic dinning area with dozens of tables and booths. It has a huge high ceiling and appears more like a banquet size area. There were several other diners but because of the size of the restaurant it didn't feel crowded. We were trying to figure out what the space was used prior to Crab Pub. It has an Asian twist decor (marble deco columns) but decorated with fishing type props and decorations. It looks like service stations encircled the outer edge of the restaurant. Thinking it was a buffet place in the past. We loved the playlist music Thinking it was club like 80's 'maybe 70's original hits. Thankfully , No piped in cover instrumentals. So it was extra fun to get down and dirty eating and listening to great music. Bathrooms were clean All n all it was reasonably priced (we did Snow Crab as opposed to the King Crab that was pricier ). Recommend for families , and friend groups. Unsure if first date would be good as you have to get into the boil bag and it'll get messy. I hope to come back soon to try more combo seafood and different spice offerings

My go-to sauce is Pub Style Medium it has the perfect balance of flavor and spice without being overly hot. I usually get the sauce on the side because sometimes it has chunks of garlic, which isn't my favorite, but the flavor is so good that it's still my top choice every time. The oysters were amazing! My mom loves oysters, and they did not disappoint fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering. We also tried the gumbo, and it was incredible rich, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the seafood. The fried shrimp was a little overcooked, and the oil tasted slightly old, but it was still good and definitely not enough to take away from the overall experience. The portions are generous, the seafood is always satisfying, and the quality keeps me coming back. It's become one of my favorite spots whenever I'm craving seafood, and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Surprisingly, the sourdough bread bowl tasted more spectacular than the chowder. Although the soup had clean ingredients, it's runny and a little bland. Fortunately, that fresh, flavorful sourdough bread had a happy crunch while also coveting that bold sourdough flavor. YUM! I arrived at Pelly's Fish Market & Cafe (Carlsbad) on a Saturday (around 12:55PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. Customers order at the counter, and Staff brings the food to your table. Staff is polite enough. Staff had a very laid back, casual presence. The male staff member just appeared & plopped the food on the table before strolling over to chat with another customer. The clam chowder bowl arrived in 15 minutes. As mentioned, I appreciated the Boston Clam Chowder Bread Bowl ($16.99). The soup was unremarkable, but the sourdough bread is phenomenal. I liked how the clam chowder is peppery and piping hot, but it's also fairly bland and runny. It had a very watery consistency. Thankfully, that fresh sourdough saved this meal. On ambiance, Pelly's Fish Market & Cafe (Carlsbad) is clean and comfortable. There's plenty of tables. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, Pelly's Fish Market & Cafe (Carlsbad) is a good option. It's not the most remarkable, but it's a solid option. I had a good experience. 4.4 out of 5

The workers check on you at the perfect times, help you understand the menu, and even break down your order and pricing so you know exactly what you're getting. The prices are great and surprisingly affordable. I ended up leaving a $30 tip because I couldn't thank them enough. If you're on a budget, they'll even pull out a Sharpie and write different options and prices right on your table to help you stay within your budget. What other place has service like that? McDonald's? No way. Chick-fil-A? Not even close. The Boiling Crab is an incredible experience, and I would definitely come back again and again. Whether you're trying a seafood boil for the first time or coming back for another visit, this is the place to go. They have all the seafood and sides you could want, and everything tastes amazing. Would you rather spend hundreds of dollars on random stuff from Facebook Marketplace, or about $20 per person for a delicious seafood boil the whole family can enjoy? The food is filling, flavorful, and worth every penny. This place is also perfect for birthday parties. They don't take reservations, but they do have wait times, and you can always call ahead if you're planning something special. I'm actually planning to have my 50th birthday party here with a group of 20 people, and they told me they can accommodate us, which is amazing. I'll be sure to update everyone on how the party goes! For a little while, he seemed happier and felt better, and that's something I'll never forget.
