Sadly, someone has decided that outrageously loud bar music takes precedent over anyone else in this huge place who might be enjoying themselves or their food or their conversation if they are with someone. We walked in sober with no drinks order and the manager said she would server us because someone in our group, she felt looked drunk. Mind you we handed had a single a single drink all day. She stated she didn't want to serve them so she, nor none of her serves had to to serve us any drinks. I have no issue with someone being over the limit and you decided you don't want to serve them but someone who walked in and you decide you don't want to serve them for whatever reason just because you don't want to serve them is not right. Have been to this restaurant a number of times with my lady and have been pleased every single time. We normally go on Saturday, so if loud karaoke isn't for you, you may want to pick another night. Is there a language barrier with some of the waitstaff, yes, but its a Mexican food restaurant. If the employees don't speak Spanish in a Mexican restaurant, I don't want it. I don't see myself going there again... It was too dark, and loud in there. They had karaoke night on Sunday, and it was just too much. The service: The waitress forgot to bring us chips. She brought me a michelada with no ice, and when asked to bring ice she brought it out with our order which took about 20 mins to get. The oysters were the only thing that came fast. We could hardly hear what she was asking because it was so loud in there. The food: The oysters were really good, and fresh. They were brought out in a beautiful tray with garnished with cucumbers and oranges. My main course were breaded shrimp which were not the best. The breeding crumbled apart from the shrimp, and the rice didn't have a good flavor to it. The best part of that plate were the fries. I highly doubt that we will have dinner there again. Inside is very nice! Half is a bar other half is more dining area. Food was amazing Cesar Plato De Tres Tacos were great we also had shrimp cocktails but the phone did not eat first. I've been to other La Marea locations and this one is a little different. Not sure if it's my favorite either. The inside space is awkward, it's not really an open space, and there's one stage, so I don't think that's really ideal. It's almost as if there's many different rooms to sit in. So if you're going at night for the show, the rooms seem odd. FOOD- The food is okay. Not my first choice. I ordered the tilapia fillet for dinner. The tostadas de Camarón are delicious. They're so filled that you'll probably have enough with one. PARKING- Parking was a little awkward too because it has a small parking lot in the front and you'll find the rest in the back. BAR- There's two bar areas, one by the stage where the show happens and another one in another room where you won't be near the loud stage. SERVICE Staff is friendly and nice. Service in general was a solid 3/5. For a Saturday night, the food was made quick. So that's a good thing. This place is not an intimate place nor a romantic setting. It is family friendly (I think day time only, because at night on weekends, the show can get a little rated R). Overall, this location is ok. Ideal reataurant if you have a party of 10 or more with no reservation because you'll most likely be able to get seated fast. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! I've gone maybe 2-3 times and the food never tastes fresh, especially the ceviche! They advertise fajita meat but give out meat that taste very low quality. Our first time here, we walked in and noticed a few people at the bar and a lot of open seats so we went in a sat down only to be hunted down by the short dark guy hostess saying in Spanish there's a wait. After about 10 minutes we were allowed to sit, in that period of time no one else went in before us so I don't know what the wait was for. I like draft beer so I ordered a Miller lite drat, I could tell the glasses weren't rinsed good because it had a chemical soapy taste so I switch to bottle beer. For some reason the female bartender seemed like she had an attitude oh and I don't think she spoke English. My wife asked for tarter sauce so the bartender brought her retried beans my wife told her that's not what she order and the bartender got an attitude and wanted to argue with her as she walked away she rolled her eyes. The food was real good but with employees with attitudes like hers we won't be back. Yes my bill was $104 with NO tip. When his ticket was presented to him the cost of each taco was $4 . Not the special price advertised at the door .
